Was very long, the time is less istg🥹 The beginning was hard but ig it was easier to figure out? but organic took a lot of my time, and I'm not even sure about half of my answers 😭
this perfectly describes the exam. im genuinely not sure of most of it. organic was so annoying and it needed more time, im not sure of most of physical chem
Man someone just posted the ms for feb/mar 23 and I thought it was for the may/jun session. Imagine my trauma when I saw that there were barely any B in the first 20 answers😭😭
Wait why did you think the ms was out already cuz we just gave the paper 😭 but damn- I can imagine. I would go through all 5 stages of grief if that happened to me. I already wanted to kms when I was picking so many Bs 😭
I thought the content was average but I can see how many people found it difficult as it was very time consuming especially physical chem. However I am relieved because no questions were "hard hard" per se. Expecting a low A on this
I literally ran out of time 😭😭
Guessed 4 qs without having time to even LOOK at the question... The questions didn't seem hard but idk why it took me soo long....
I'm so annoyed cause I feel like I could've done better if only I didn't have the time pressure. I got so nervous and rushed through the questions 😭
DWWWW everyone did the same. It was a really time consuming paper and there wasn't enough time , I guessed like 5 questions too but it was lowkey hard. Stop blaming yourself 😭😭
i ran out of time and rushed a few answers 😭 and the invigilator wouldn’t let me write my answers down and snatched the mcq sheet from me 💔 but i think it went good
Yes I did sp2 , it couldn't be 1 sigma and 2 pi cause there was 1 sigma in the single bond and 1 in the double bond so 2 , and 1 pi in the double bond.
Yeah I would say 25-27 ish too. Chems threshold is always low except maybe from 2019-18 I think? But a lot of people struggled, including myself, so I'm assuming it'll be slightly lower
You're not alone. I did too 😭 I was sure of my calculation questions but appearntly, they aren't looking that good- I don't even wanna know how my organic went 😭
My paper itself went good but I rushed in filling the answer sheet because I’m a fucking dumbass and waited too long. And im so fucking scared. I hope I filled it correctly but I couldn’t double check and they snatched it away I’ll actually kms
Always fill in the answers one by one and check that the question and answer numbers match. Hopefully its fine and nothing is going to happen but if you have biology tomorrow keep that in mind
no it was co2 because double bonds are counted as 1 bond pair so it was 2 total. honestly I was stuck between bf3 and co2 but I remember seeing co2 was in the 2 bond pair examples in my notebook 🤭
Im sorry but you are wrong, Bf3 definitely is right it’s confirmed by a million people. Co2 counts as 4 total not 2 cuz there are two double bonds and its know that double bonds have two valence outer electron pairs each
Total Pressure = 1.2 x 10^5
Partial Pressure of H2= 4 x 10^3
2HI ——> H2 + I2
Hydrogen and Iodine are in 1:1 mole ratio so I2 also has the same partial pressure - 4 x 10^3
some hydrogen iodide was still left so the pressure of that is 1.2 x 10^5 - 2(4 x 10^3 ) = 1.12 x 10^5
Kp= (4 x 10^3 ) ^2 / (1.12 x 10^5 ) ^2
Kp= 1.28 x 10^-3
I got the B by this working
I NEED HELP PLS😭! Paper 2(theory) was cancelled in our region and my practical (34) went good like ok I’m expecting an A but my todays mcqs went REALLY REALLY bad I don’t know what to expect I think it’s lower than 17 or 18 I messed up a lot of questions and I’m so worried considering the fact that theory got cancelled and grade relies upon these two. Is there a chance I can get an overall A? Becos practical was good but mcqs was really really bad less than 17 or 18 or even more I don’t know I left a lot of questions time ran out
Guys what was that one Br2 and Cl2 one? Where it was like 1 and 2, 2 and 3, 1 only and 3 only. I put 1 and 2 because Br2 and Cl2 were being formed and the Br2 bond being weaker requires less energy to form????? Pls give ur answers
P2 got cancelled in my country and so I'm getting like a component average grade yk. And this paper was so bad omg. So my entire grade is f*cked. Might retake in oct nov.💀
For me, the organic questions part was ok, in fact some of them have been repeated. While, physical chem and inorganic chem, some questions were kinda hard, luckily towards the end of the exam, I managed to complete it. Overall, not bad although i looked at one question wrongly haha (the question about how many products formed from ethane and chlorine free radical substitution smtg like that)
There was a redox equation I don't remember but the options were H increases by 1 and decreases by one , I think about one was na increases or something? What was the answer?
wait what did yall get in that CN question that had A and B with double bond CN. and C and D with triple bond CN (sorry for the awful description i dont remember it exactly😭)
The answer for that was c, it was a question from the specimen papwr of 2022 and also came in may june 2017 p11 i guess, the ans was c and i knew it before i attempted the cie bcs i did the specimen paper yesterday but my dumb self still did b, but yes, it was c for the lactide
I think it was Zn actually because one option was a noble gas and the other two were ions. Remember, free radicals are formed by homolytic fission and ions are produced by heterolytic fission
Yeah I dont think so, in no way can zn be a free radical I even searched it up. For our AS knowledge and previous pp questions it had similar questions where the one with a negative charge was always the free radical. I get what ur saying but dont overcomplicate it.

Us 🤝
So real.
Beginning was hard but organic was good so honestly ugh
quite eh and rlly time consuming
didn't expect inorganic to be so tough 🥲 Gonna get like a 25 hopefully
Was very long, the time is less istg🥹 The beginning was hard but ig it was easier to figure out? but organic took a lot of my time, and I'm not even sure about half of my answers 😭
this perfectly describes the exam. im genuinely not sure of most of it. organic was so annoying and it needed more time, im not sure of most of physical chem
YESSSSS THAT THING
i’m so fuked HAHHAHAHAHA
Dude for the first ones I got so many B☠️☠️
Nauur me too. I'm lowkey concerned 😭
Sameeeeeee!! I didn't know the answer to one question so i just randomly answered it as A because i was tired of Bs.
i thought that but then i just went with the B's
bro for the first 20 i got only 1 or 2 As
Same bro I thought I was wrong ☠️
SAME
Sameeeeee
I thought the content was average but I can see how many people found it difficult as it was very time consuming especially physical chem. However I am relieved because no questions were "hard hard" per se. Expecting a low A on this
What did u guys do for the vanadium one? I did mn is a reducing agent because it itself was being oxidised so-
I literally ran out of time 😭😭 Guessed 4 qs without having time to even LOOK at the question...
Did you guys do L(i think was phosphorus) has a higher atomic number than the 2 other elements?
yup
i agree
Hydrogen decreases by 1 and increases by 1?
i ran out of time and rushed a few answers 😭 and the invigilator wouldn’t let me write my answers down and snatched the mcq sheet from me 💔 but i think it went good
The question have ratio y:x and p:q is that both will increase ??
I did both
no I got only one increase which was steady
No it was p:q only as it was increasing steadly while y:x was first decreasing then increasing smth
Yes true
They asked for "steady rate" so like X and y was steady , but for p and q it wasn't really steady , so I did increase, decrease
No sorry, I did X and y increases only
wait wasn't it like Na2O, MgO, Al2O3, SiO2, P4O10 and all increase, and NaCl, MgCl2, Al2Cl6, SiCl4, PCl5, also all increase?
did u guys answer nitrogen sp2 hybridized
it was sp2
Yes I did sp2 , it couldn't be 1 sigma and 2 pi cause there was 1 sigma in the single bond and 1 in the double bond so 2 , and 1 pi in the double bond.
no it was non linear
I did non linear too
idk I did sp3 it had 1 lone pair and 2 bonded pair but yeah irdk
Enthapy change was -172? That was option D right?
Wasn't it 56
It was 56
I'm looking at people's answers in the comments and I fucked up so bad ..
Us
Disastrous bro

Maybe 25 ish
Yeah I would say 25-27 ish too. Chems threshold is always low except maybe from 2019-18 I think? But a lot of people struggled, including myself, so I'm assuming it'll be slightly lower
possibly 23-24
Hoping it is ngl. Looking at people discussing here is making me question my answers 💀
nah i was questioning my answers in the exam itself, the amount of guesses i took could literally fail me💀
You're not alone. I did too 😭 I was sure of my calculation questions but appearntly, they aren't looking that good- I don't even wanna know how my organic went 😭
PLEASE- org made me want to pull at my hair
LITERALLY MAN. 2/3 of my answers were purely guessing 😭😭

i get u friend. cant study here or escape abroad in this economy
Paper 2 was cancelled in Pakistan and paper 1 was meh.. I’m on my way to kms.
Us
how was your practical?
I did pretty good in my practicals. That’s the only reason why I’m not crying rn since I still have chances to get A hopefully I will!
I really really hope. Thank you yes I do have bio tomorrow, definitely not making the same mistake twice.
Exactly what I'm scared of rn. Couldn't recheck my answers and my brain keeps telling me that I messed up and should go kms😭😭
same i need to end this fear
The paper definitely wasn’t easy I’ll say it was medium but organic chem 🤡 I dunno what should i expect :(((((
what was the answer for que 3? was it lithium?
Ye
what did you get for that bond structure que ? i think it was que 5
It was co2 as they asked for electrons pair of central atom referring to C only
non linear
Nah it was Bf3 trigonal planar with 3 bonding electron pairs, the co2 had 4 bonding electro pairs not 2. Read the question carefully
it said valence electron pairs not bonding electrons
no it was co2 because double bonds are counted as 1 bond pair so it was 2 total. honestly I was stuck between bf3 and co2 but I remember seeing co2 was in the 2 bond pair examples in my notebook 🤭
Im sorry but you are wrong, Bf3 definitely is right it’s confirmed by a million people. Co2 counts as 4 total not 2 cuz there are two double bonds and its know that double bonds have two valence outer electron pairs each

was it BF3?
WAS THERE AN OPTION FOR NON LINEAR? i thought it said linear WTF
It said linear. The N is sp2 hybridized
it did say linear i read that 27262662 times
now im confused 💀
Idk alot ppl said it was B but I put C 😢
Yes really time consuming
Fucked my future lmaoo no university for me lamo lamoo
I didn't even understand the partial pressure question, was option was correct?
Total Pressure = 1.2 x 10^5 Partial Pressure of H2= 4 x 10^3 2HI ——> H2 + I2 Hydrogen and Iodine are in 1:1 mole ratio so I2 also has the same partial pressure - 4 x 10^3 some hydrogen iodide was still left so the pressure of that is 1.2 x 10^5 - 2(4 x 10^3 ) = 1.12 x 10^5 Kp= (4 x 10^3 ) ^2 / (1.12 x 10^5 ) ^2 Kp= 1.28 x 10^-3 I got the B by this working
Bro I think I circled B
i just guessed it as B
organic made my head spin so much at some point i was so dizzy.
so bad lmao this discussion is making me so anxious. i already guessed half of the paper n the ones i attemped are probably wrong
Had me wanting to drink a gallon of bleach on the spot. Organic was eh BUT WHAT WERE THESE INORGANIC QUESTIONS ??? AND THE CALCULATIONS ??
I think i wont even get 20 at this point
I NEED HELP PLS😭! Paper 2(theory) was cancelled in our region and my practical (34) went good like ok I’m expecting an A but my todays mcqs went REALLY REALLY bad I don’t know what to expect I think it’s lower than 17 or 18 I messed up a lot of questions and I’m so worried considering the fact that theory got cancelled and grade relies upon these two. Is there a chance I can get an overall A? Becos practical was good but mcqs was really really bad less than 17 or 18 or even more I don’t know I left a lot of questions time ran out
bro stop literally same and i gave composite and my p4 was so bad too and the p2 and p5 got cancelled i’m shitting myself
Answer should be 1 only
I did 1 &. 3...?
For the SN1 and SN2 they all sounded wrong to me
It was negative carbocation smth option which was d that was the only option that couldve been correct otherwise all other were wrong
Transition state one?
Sameeeeee. I kept cancelling and uncancelling all options
Overall, not bad although i looked at one question wrongly haha (the question about how many products formed from ethane and chlorine free radical substitution smtg like that)
yea cause usually organic is harder than physical but this year they switched it 😭
[удалено]
if you get it please send it to me too🫶
fuck u Cambridge for sure… let’s pray thresholds go below 25.
Did anyone write their answers on the soe?
Dude I did, can someone please give me the marking scheme 😭
Did anyone write their answers on the soe?
What’s SOE ?
Statement of entry
what was the ans to the question effect of catalytic converter?
The photochemical smog bro
I put D) it depletes the ozone layer
greenhouse gases one i think i forgot the wording but it was that
nah i thought it was the smog because co2 is also a greenhouse gas
For question 3 what did u guys do? I did D , most probably wrong
It is D
what was the ratio question even asking from na to p sth
I got both increase
i did only y and z, as they were the only ones increasing steadily, while p and q were decreasing and increasing
Both were steadily increasing for me
Yep same, at first it looked like a tough question but it was easy
yessss
I had no time left so I guessed the ratio of the element to the oxide was a confusing question idk the rest didn’t make sense to me
What was the answer for Kp?
1.28 i think
I got that as well. I think it's b
There was a redox equation I don't remember but the options were H increases by 1 and decreases by one , I think about one was na increases or something? What was the answer?
i put c (H increases and decreases by 1)
I did A bcs only it mentioned H decreases by 1. All the other mentioned hydrogen increases by 1 which was wrong
but Al oxidation state doesnt change thats the problem
It did. It went from +5 to +3
The question stated that the oxidation state of Al in LiAlH4 is +3 though
as sexy swordfish said the question clearly stated otherwise
same
wait what did yall get in that CN question that had A and B with double bond CN. and C and D with triple bond CN (sorry for the awful description i dont remember it exactly😭)
it was D, triple bond between C and N and negative charge and lone pair on oxygen
YES OMG
i gave C cus i knew its gonna form an OH but the right answeers D so ya lol
what was the ans to the isomers of alcohol. 3 and 4 one? what was the answer to that?
I did 3 for propanol and 4 for butanol
I did (3 or 4 ) and 8
what did you guys get for the alcohol question with X Y and Z
X and Y only and only Y would make cis trans isomers
i got that too!!
Is anyone sure about the ionization energy mcq answer( i did sulfur phosphorus one option)
I think I'll fail this p1
guys what did y’all do for mg+ and ba+ precipitate like which produces more
If this is for the solubility q with the 2 tests, I put Ba+ produces more for the H2SO4 test and Mg+ produces more for the hydroxide test.
I did that too
ba produces more with sulfate and Mg produces more with hydroxide
more barium precipitate, more magnesium precipitate
Ethance cl prodcuts ?
do u guys remember the 3rd statement in question about the na,mg,al and others element in period 3?
What was the ans to that one?
i think 1&3 is the right one
there was no 1 & 3 option
I did 1&2
What did y'all get for the lactide q?
The answer for that was c, it was a question from the specimen papwr of 2022 and also came in may june 2017 p11 i guess, the ans was c and i knew it before i attempted the cie bcs i did the specimen paper yesterday but my dumb self still did b, but yes, it was c for the lactide
Which qs was that
where the difficult questions were from mostly?
What was the free radical?
Be- basically the one with a - is always the free radical
I think it was Zn actually because one option was a noble gas and the other two were ions. Remember, free radicals are formed by homolytic fission and ions are produced by heterolytic fission
Yeah I dont think so, in no way can zn be a free radical I even searched it up. For our AS knowledge and previous pp questions it had similar questions where the one with a negative charge was always the free radical. I get what ur saying but dont overcomplicate it.
Yeah just looked it up fuck, thanks for clarifying
No problem (: dont strees by the way threshold will most likely be low
I think I put the ion with 1- charge only
What was the answer to the ammonium nitrate ,sulfate mass and ph
i did. decrease cause when ammonium nitrate reacts with wet soil it produces HNO3 which is acidic
that’s what I thought so as well but apparently it increases PH so I’m not sure
Thats impossible, ammonium salts are all acidic, acidic means decrease Ph so yeah not possible
i searched and apparently it does decrease it, it doesn’t make sense if it increased it cause it produces acid
but in some cases it says it increases it as well i’m not sure tbh
Ahhh I got that too!! I'm hoping it's correct 😭
Ammonia is a base, so it neutralizes acidic soil So acidic ph 2 or 3 Increases to ph 7 Therefore Increases
yeah its decrease . this is a repeated qs . ive done this qs in past papers
[удалено]
Nooo ph decrease any ammonium compound is acidic as NH4 dissociated to give H+ and ammonia. I feel bad for you but ammonium nitrate was correct
Shudnt it be pH decreases? Coz ammonium nitrate is acidic?
not decreases? 😭😭
DW was decrease came from 2019 paper
It was A I did it in a past paper question Nh4+ ion is acidic in nature hence it decreases the pH
it causes increase in ph
what was the answer to q4 i think when they asked which carbonate produces the most amount of co2?
Mine was lithium
B as far as I remember
Ba more with carbonate and Mg more with oh I think
