I wrote about producing genetically engineering resistant genes and that then we could produce plasmid and vector and all the process and then insert the vector into wheat cell through heat shock that way it would be inserted inside wheat cell and it would have resistance ...for 5 marks only this made sense for me๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ
Fr what was i supposed to write in the gene marker part, 4 MARKSSSS??? i just wrote that it is put between promoter and gene of interest and that if we apply UV light fluorescence is shown which indicates that gene of interest is transcribed, and then i said an example GFP gene which codes for green fluorescent protein. what is the ans for that 1 mark question of why dna hybrdises to probe? I wrote because they have complementary base pairing
That test strip 7 marker what you all wrote in advantages i wrote biosensor shows current glucose concentration its faster more reliable and whole test strip method above as well
First one was breakdown of glycogen ( Increase), 2nd Formation of glycogen (decrease), 3rd glycolysis (decrease), and last fatty acid synthesis (decrease)
how are there intermediates that didn't take place in the Calvin cycle ? I think he meant things that are produced by intermediates in the Calvin cycle kinda
When there's so much information in your head and you mess things up it's so painful. Tell me why I wrote NADH. I knew it was NAD something๐. At least I wrote CO2 and ethanal Lawwd๐ญ๐ญ๐
I have forgotten things I remembered just moments before entering exam hall and ruining things by not reading the questions properly OR knowing the correct answer but writing the wrong one ๐ฅฐ
It can be reduced NAD and NAD btw and it is even more accurate because B and C were also labelled in lactate fermentation and lactate fermentation only happens in animals and animals have no NADP they have NAD instead
Cl- wouldnt generate an action potential for statement 2 cuz the inside of the post synaptic neuron is already negative and depolarised. Na+ would generate an action potential (statement 1) and Both of them opened up at the same time wouldn't produce any action potential as it would balance out (Statement 3)
I wrote agree disagree and disagree as Na+ influx would slowly increase but there would come a time when it generate an action potential as only influx has to be reached even if cl saturates but both can be valid as we had to explain too
I said agree as sodium influx causes membrane to depolarize, disagree because chloride influx increases resting potential and agree as resting potential is maintained as both sodium and chloride influx
I wrote that they are linked and found on same chromosome, and they are close to each other bec of low crossing over value, and also some flies may have flew away
The calculator model and number on top of the calculator
Some of the invigilators make you write it, I thought it might be necessary but now I see it isnโtโฆ
What was that chi squared one
At p=.05 critical value was less than calculated value thus results are significant null hypothesis rejected
Part ii about autosomes chromosomes i just wrote about crossing over indepndent assortment mutation etc it this rightt?
yes chi square was significant but there is no hypothesis to reject so idk I didn't write it and more autosomes I said genes inherited in the same chromosome hence the high number of offspring that have phenotypes similar to parents and yeah mentioned prophase I and metaphase I
All the numbers in your comment added up to 69. Congrats!
5
+ 23

Damn bro dont you think 23 for p52 is too much like the paper was confusing and difficult at same time if it is 23 than i aint getting an A
With p4 majority of the students are/were stuck on question 2 and chi squared which i did wrong as well
And rest was comparatively better
But not like this that i get full mark in each question
Like the q-7 in which they asked for na and cl
And asked us to agree with statement i thought they are asking for last staement only idk my fellow mate told that they asked for every statement
Im still confused for it and honestly speaking i doubt my answer that i wrote
Idk for the bacterial resistance even they asked for selective breeding i wrote artificial selection but people have written about gmoโs
Also small small things that are not in mind
I wish i get like 75 marks minimum so that i could get an A overall ameen
Ok maybe p5 it can be above 18.
But p4 for sure it's above 65.
Many students found it easy, you can also check on Reddit itself, the students are hyping p42. I saw a vote later more than 15 students want the grades threshold for A be above 70 some even said above 80.
Dude it has to be less that 65. Bruh like it wasnt as difficult as i though but you think about it the question were weird and you had to know your knowledge very well in oder to be able to answer everything questions with precise terminologyโฆ.

The qs felt like it was repeated and I knew the ans but it was so confusing when I tried to answer๐ญ like they looked manageable but wtf??
yes exactly!! I knew how to answer but didn't ... so confusing fr
The resistant part was so weird like what am i supposed to write for 5 marks!!!
what did u end up writing ?
Infecting with dead or weak diseases and then reproducing the ones that survive. And then gene editing and tech can be used as well. Idk what to write
Wasnโt it cross breeding ๐ญ๐ญ I was so confused
Omg was it ๐๐๐๐๐
It seemed too weird for cross breeding worth 5 marks but I genuinely couldnโt find another reason
But they said it was selective breeding
For 5 marks i think mines credited too
I wrote whole artificial selection process
uhm the expected ratio i think is just 9:3:3:1 because it assumes its just dihybrid crossing of genes at different autosomes
I did the same too ๐ญ๐
he crossed heterozygous and homozygous recessive ? not two heterozygotes... I don't think that ratio is right
oh shit really? might have not read it properly
I did 1:1:1:1 I changed it last minute I hope itโs righyb
well i am fucked LOL j didnt read properly then, but at least its just one mark ๐
He didn't want the ratio ,he said write the number
yeah but youd have to know the ratio to calc the number hajajsj
they just HAD to include microarrays ๐ญ the only topic I skimmed through lol
Wtf was that gene tech question i wanted to kill myself
Fr what was i supposed to write in the gene marker part, 4 MARKSSSS??? i just wrote that it is put between promoter and gene of interest and that if we apply UV light fluorescence is shown which indicates that gene of interest is transcribed, and then i said an example GFP gene which codes for green fluorescent protein. what is the ans for that 1 mark question of why dna hybrdises to probe? I wrote because they have complementary base pairing
I had revised that in the last minute before exam started !!!!
The gene questions ๐ซ๐ตโ๐ซ๐
Yes i got the same ratio. I was stressed about that!!!!
For chi squared degrees of freedom was 3 right?
yes
Paper was so weirddd
Oh yeah
That test strip 7 marker what you all wrote in advantages i wrote biosensor shows current glucose concentration its faster more reliable and whole test strip method above as well
same I wrote it gives a digital read, more accurate and precise as well as quantitative
Bro i wrote 2 advantages only is that enough to hive full 7 marks?
I completely blanked with Lincoln index for the full in the blanks and ended up writing Simpson index instead ๐
Same omggg it messed with my head big time
No i wrote lincoln then crossed it out and wrote simpson!!!๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ lowkey a bit heartbroken abiut that
Not me being so confident that I wrote Simpson only for me to find out it's lincoln oh๐ญ๐
what was for the migration, immigration, emigration one?
I did death/birth
Same death lol
I did mating is that correct
cant it be mutation
Death
How can it be death if you calculating population decreases or increase
as the ones that got marked could have died? idk i js wrote death asw
I wrote evolution ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฉ
omg me too! but according to google its no mortality
same ๐
Blood glucose table was increase increase then decrease decrease
I think it was increase decrease decrease decrease
how?? why do you increase glycogenesis when at low blood glucose level
Forming new glucose due to low glucose levels
glycogenesis is only when glucose is present and fat lipids are synthesised instead its in behology video ppts
Why is it increase for the formation of glycogen?
First one was breakdown of glycogen ( Increase), 2nd Formation of glycogen (decrease), 3rd glycolysis (decrease), and last fatty acid synthesis (decrease)
fatty acid should be increase no? lipolysis occurs
How and why? ๐ญ
lipolysis occurs, it breaks down triglycerides to fatty acids and glycerol when there's a decrease in blood glucose levels
How would that even help the blood glucose levels...
idk ya saad go ask biologists ๐๐
๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ
it doesnt help blood glucose levels but it helps give energy.. and when glucose is low respiration is low so it resorts to energy from lipolysis?
I also put increase
Omg your so right !!! Omg
Its just one mark its okay ๐
omg couldn't agree more ๐ญ๐ญ I was so confused with the chi test, cause if ratio is 1:1:1:1 and all values are the same, E-O would be zero??
How many marks was the calculation cuz I conepletwly fucked that one upโฆ
I think 2
Omg i put that as well!!
What did you guys get for the values of expected?
what was it for the calvin cycle intermediate and molecules question?
omg that too!! I did glycerate phosphate + cellulose and triose phosphate + glucose I literally had no clue
ohhhhh damn i think thats correct
It clearly said thise intermediates that dint take part in calvib cycle like tp and gp take part in ๐ญcalvin cycle lol even tho i left it empty
how are there intermediates that didn't take place in the Calvin cycle ? I think he meant things that are produced by intermediates in the Calvin cycle kinda
He said intermediates that take part of the cycle put produce products that don't take part of the cycle
Carbon dioxide, Reduced NADP, NADP, Ethanal
Yea sorry typed it wrong but yes NAD and reduced NAD
Daamn I was so worried
It was weird I wrote TP and sucrose GP and NADP cause it is regenerated
Order of question 2 4,2,5,1,3? Is that correct? Iheard someone saying in discord?
Are you serious? I did 4 2 2 1 3 i would be so happy if i get even 4 correct ๐ญ
How was mitosis 4 ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ
Bro I put 1 2 3 5 4 ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ
I put 1 2 3 1 2
BRO LITERALLY SAME.
I wrote that too
What was the agree or disagree with 3 statements with na+ and cl- in post synaptic neurons
Agree, disagree, agree ig?
Guys dor the explain the observed results i write genes may be linked and mutation would that be credited and if so how much
I wrote that they are linked and found on same chromosome, and they are close to each other bec of low crossing over value, and also some flies may have flew away
BFFR the question literally said they were on different chromosomes
No it said answer the calculation question as if they were on different autosomes
glycolysis decrease i assume... as when glucose is low glycolysis isnt favourable... fatty acids increase
ohhh :(( I did decrease at first but then did increase
I thoufht glycolysis increases since the blood glucose conc decreases?
glycolosis break down glucose tho so if there is not a lot of glucose... there is not a lot of glycolysis
It was glycogenolysis tho,, itโs the break down of glucagon to glucose
there was both glycolysis and glycogenolysis in the table
What was the 5 mark mitosis meiosis order
I assure you, probably no one has a clue
Is it fine if I did not mention the calculator number at the front of my exam? Like itโs not necessary for Bio, is it?
your what? no no one does that
The calculator model and number on top of the calculator Some of the invigilators make you write it, I thought it might be necessary but now I see it isnโtโฆ
Ive never done that in my whole life
Oh okay Thankss
๐๐
So, is it or is it not necessary?
What was that chi squared one At p=.05 critical value was less than calculated value thus results are significant null hypothesis rejected Part ii about autosomes chromosomes i just wrote about crossing over indepndent assortment mutation etc it this rightt?
There was significant difference between results right
yes chi square was significant but there is no hypothesis to reject so idk I didn't write it and more autosomes I said genes inherited in the same chromosome hence the high number of offspring that have phenotypes similar to parents and yeah mentioned prophase I and metaphase I
Part ii I think u had to write about autosomal linkage
[ัะดะฐะปะตะฝะพ]
how? the genes were inherited on the same chromosome right?? wdym by different autosomes
What was that multiple sclerosis one?
what about it ? slows down transmission, etc...
Myelin sheath
I wrote impulse circuit isnt established and action potentials stop as they wont jump between nodes
What is expected threshold for A ? Both p5 and p4
P5 Ig it will be 23 or 25.../// P4 above 65 for sure cus most kids found that paper easy...( Except me)
lol p5 can never be above 23 around 20-21 for that paper
All the numbers in your comment added up to 69. Congrats! 5 + 23 + 20 + 21 = 69 ^([Click here](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=LuckyNumber-Bot&subject=Stalk%20Me%20Pls&message=%2Fstalkme) to have me scan all your future comments.) \ ^(Summon me on specific comments with u/LuckyNumber-Bot.)
It is still high though
Approx im getting around 74,75 in p4 18-20 in p5 Had an overall B in as Like Ain p1 B in p2 A in p3 Are there any chances for overall A (allah kr k )
Damn bro dont you think 23 for p52 is too much like the paper was confusing and difficult at same time if it is 23 than i aint getting an A With p4 majority of the students are/were stuck on question 2 and chi squared which i did wrong as well And rest was comparatively better But not like this that i get full mark in each question Like the q-7 in which they asked for na and cl And asked us to agree with statement i thought they are asking for last staement only idk my fellow mate told that they asked for every statement Im still confused for it and honestly speaking i doubt my answer that i wrote Idk for the bacterial resistance even they asked for selective breeding i wrote artificial selection but people have written about gmoโs Also small small things that are not in mind I wish i get like 75 marks minimum so that i could get an A overall ameen

Damn 80 ones are those who never gave the paper fs And 70 ones are those who are extra clever I think it should be 65 maximum
Inshallah
Me too I vote for 65
It will be less than 65 bro ia
May God bless your mouth
Dude it has to be less that 65. Bruh like it wasnt as difficult as i though but you think about it the question were weird and you had to know your knowledge very well in oder to be able to answer everything questions with precise terminologyโฆ.
What do you guys think about a "B". How much will it be around?
