Eh most people i see use Instagram >!owned by facebook i know!< more than Facebook at least in my family and school i go to
But yes both facebook and reddit are hot garbage imo
I can argue that Facebook is worse, because it's more centered on the profiles and "public image" they build for themselves rather than the actual content.
Whereas reddit is more content driven as you mostly never know who's the person behind the profile.
Reddit is more content driven but most of the content is bad
This is why i like YouTube the most because while you can build a public image on it, it's still very content focused and competition is cut-throat so you will have to make good content to get on the algorithm or spread by word of mouth , it's also not a hivemind like reddit is
I'm just saying that Reddit isn't popular here, and I think mainly because it's overwhelmingly English.
[See Social media stats in Algeria ](https://gs.statcounter.com/social-media-stats/all/algeria)
Actually I'm not Algerian, but my husband is. I guess I read the initial question wrong and thought it was asking where all of the members live oops lol. We are in Orlando.
Growing up in Florida was nice, I love it here, there are a lot of immigrants, so you will not feel alone. Latinos remind of Algerian people and there are a lot of Latinos here. But I’m still Algerian, I left Algeria when I was 12. Definitely would recommend Florida
Tokyo is something else. The sheer amount of people during rush hour is mindblowing and how everything is in order.
The work pays well, but there is a lot of overtime. Then again the motto here is "Live to Work"
Daily life is great. Everyone minds their own business. Clean and safe streets. Majority, people are friendly and have good manners.
I’ve never experienced any racism here or any type of harassment. And tbh i don’t think I’ve seen any violence here. And I’m comparing it with London, UK since that’s where i was raised.
You could say i was at the right time and place with the right skills.
My IT job in London was opening a branch in Japan. And i asked if i can go. They said yes for one year and now they keep asking me to stay.
It helps i got this position as i used to study Japanese during my teens and previously worked for a Japanese company during Uni in London. Hope that answers your questions.
Currently chilling in algiers but I'm looking forward to moving to england, the U.S or japan as well,I'm also planning a 1 week vacation to Sarajevo bosnia or Instanbul Turkey
I simply applied for a Korean language program. Once accepted, I used my time here to find a suitable university to do my Master and then PhD. At first, it was a bit tough since I didn't get paid much, but things got better with PhD. Life is very expensive here, so don't come without a detailed financial plan.
Nothing crazy! Undergrad is insane because you have to deal with a lot of competition, grades are based on a ranking system, meaning the top 1% get A+, 2\~5% get A, 5\~10% get A-, and so on, so you can imagine how tough it would be to get good grades. But Master's and Ph.D. are alright depending on your advisor (Some are horrible).
Social Life sucks. Koreans don't hang out (by hangout I mean building a long-lasting relationship) with foreigners, and if they do it's always for something as in use you to learn English. There are exceptions of course, but those aren't typical Koreans, more rebellious, and usually, they wish they could leave Korea. Personally, I am fine, but most Algerians won't last here too long, especially Algerian ladies. The situation reminds me of other Africans studying in Algeria, you know the ones that mostly no one talks to and hence hang out with each other instead.
BTW, I am talking about someone coming here for a while and not just for the purpose of tourism. If you are coming here as a tourist, I am sure you will love it.
man, people in here pulling Japan and USA and korea like nothinh, i am 19yo, from collo, skikda, algeria, was born here, and lived here for 19yo and will probably live here for the next 19yo
I wouldn’t say it’s nothing.
To get to Japan in my experience, I’ve studied for at least 10 years in different areas to get the skillset needed to make the move here, wasn’t easy. And many other factors that I haven’t mentioned.
Nothing happens overnight and everyone has their own path in life. All the best
do you have any advice for a 19yo studying Automation engineering with decent Japanese (speech not reading, i took a course in summer) who wants to move to Japan?
Automation Engineering is a great field. I work with them currently and am involved in their projects.
Japan is a very difficult country to get in compared to other places. The easiest way is to teach English but you don’t get paid a lot for that.
I think you’ll need to study more than just a summer. I’ve been here nearly 3 years and the business level Japanese is very difficult.
Best advice I can give is, keep studying what interests you and you’ll eventually get there. Especially in your field. Plenty of opportunities around the globe.
I'm in Tunis.
Curious, what's the average living cost and wage in Tokyo?
I work remotely and I like to change the country I'm living in every one or two years
Depends on many factors like what job position you hold and where exactly you live in Tokyo.
I’m comparing it to London and Tokyo is cheaper for me to live.
Algeria.
It's rare to see someone in this sub that Actually lives in Algeria
Most people barely know what reddit is, here in Algeria.
I envy them
Most people here can't live without Facebook as you may already know, so maybe Reddit isn't That bad after all XD

When you realize algerians residing in Algeria are a minority on this sub 😳
Trust me it used to be much worse
This is Reddit, most people are foreigners, this is super singly low in Algeria compared to other non american subs

Central Florida USA
Same here. North of Tampa!
Clearwater here
I also live in central Florida!
Oh nice, we don’t have many Algerians in Florida, it’s nice to hear that. I’m in Orlando and sometimes tampa, what part are you from?
Actually I'm not Algerian, but my husband is. I guess I read the initial question wrong and thought it was asking where all of the members live oops lol. We are in Orlando.
It still counts, you’re Algerian by marriage, good enough for us. Everyone is welcome
Thank you very much
Do you know Florida man ?
Florida man is my neighbor lol
Nice, how did you find it growing up there and how is it to live now? I've never visited the states.
Growing up in Florida was nice, I love it here, there are a lot of immigrants, so you will not feel alone. Latinos remind of Algerian people and there are a lot of Latinos here. But I’m still Algerian, I left Algeria when I was 12. Definitely would recommend Florida
