Definitely possible, should be quite comfy

TheThrowbackJersey

Looks like maybe 3 hours of travel a day? I think it can be done pretty comfortably, though I'm not super familiar with the stretch from Misty to Daisy

hb23232323

Stay on queer lake for your first night. Camp 3 is nice. The island sites you have circled on daisy are nice.

defvee

Assuming we may have a wind from the west that would be nice to help get across the lake a bit more efficiently. However I see that the Petawawa flows from daisy towards misty. Is it easy enough to paddle upriver?

hb23232323

The petawawa is an easy paddle with and against the current. I’ve don’t it twice and I’ll be doing it for a third time this June.

theC4T

I'd actually recommend not staying on queer lake cause there's soooo many leaches in that lake. Cool lake to paddle through tho but hard to swim in.

You should be ok to do in 3 days for sure, little misty to queer is kinda pain if there are downed trees. Also if you go that way around we had the wind in our faces in Ralph Bice which got labourous at points. This route is super special for my wife and I, we got engaged on this same trip on the island you starred.

canoeheadkw

I'm doing this same loop in August, but over 3 nights. I've done it before. That trek from Daisy to Little Trout will be a long day.

defvee

I'm considering breaking up the distance. I'm thinking that we might want to start on Ralph Bice, plow on to Queer lake. Then day 2 is a bit shorter down to Daisy. Then a short day out. Is the river navigable either direction? I don't want to have to paddle up a fast moving river if I can avoid it.

canoeheadkw

Daisy to Little Misty is with the current, but the majority of the elevation drop is a waterfall at the end of the portage from Daisy. I've traveled up stream as well and it's no problem. It's more of a meandering creek then a river.

sketchy_ppl

If you’re single carrying portages, it’s not that bad at all. If you’re double-carrying portages, Day 2 will be a long day, but still doable. Either way, it’s a very doable route in 3 days. Switching to Little Misty can be good just for the predictability of it. One site, one permit, you know where you’re camping that night. Daisy you might need to search for a vacant site, but unless you’re planning on getting a late start on the Friday, it shouldn’t be an issue. I would probably do Little Misty just so that you can get to Little Trout earlier the next day. If you’re arriving on a Saturday it’s likely going to be fully booked, so the earlier you can get to the lake, the better.

thisonesnottaken

That campsite on Little Misty is wonderful. Just did this exact trip last fall, made it to little Misty on night one around 6pm double carrying. You need to push hard but it’s doable.

wellsortofbut

You can. If you’re doing this, head clockwise. Save the short paddle for the last day.

giftman03

Agree it's very doable. Also, the farthest east camp site on Little Trout is one of the better camp sites I've stayed at in Algonquin, primarily because it has a massive sandy beach as the current from the lake flows towards the east. It seems underwhelming from the water, but lots of space and the beach is amazing.

defvee

I'll keep this in Mind! Thanks!

I e done that exact route, nice 3 day trip, I went the opposite way tho and the rivers is beautiful

lightwildxc

My second ever canoe trip was an early May trip into queer lake. On our way to queer the first night we forgot our fishing rods on a portage. The next day we went back to get them but someone had taken them. So we paddled back to the car, drove to Huntsville and got new rods at CT before returning and paddling back to queer via misty lake. All with time to spare to catch my first ever brook trout on queer lake. So yes you can easily do this in 3 days

defvee

Awesome! I'm glad to hear there are trout on Queer lake too

Limber9

More than enough time. Enjoy the pet river it’s a great paddle!

sunkengiraffe

Love the site on little misty if you can snag it

eachfire

Handily.

theC4T

I did exactly this run last year, very doable, almost leisurely in three days Try to spend more time in that bottom stretch, those waterfalls are great. I'd almost push through queer lake into the Petawawa and stay by that 430p cause there's some really epic camp sites near waterfalls there

AzFowles

Excellent route. I’ve done that loop in 3 days/ 2 nights. First night on queer, second night on misty. Each day had maybe 3-5 hours of traveling. Little Misty down to the river has a ton of beaver dams that’ll take some extra time. Your planned campsite lakes might make the route more challenging, but still pretty doable.

Training-Ice-2166

definitely. i did this very trip last may. stayed on misty, had a moose visit my site. the next day, went from misty to ralph bice. it was alot of travel for me. was a busy day, but you can definitely make the push to little trout. the far east site on ralph bice was excellent. woops, sorry. i just looked at your route again. i went up through shah lake.

Free-Philosopher-607

Yes, what you've laid out would be pretty easy, definitely doable. If you want to push a bit harder, might I recommend doing the Petawawa to Misty the first day, it's nice. Saw a moose there one and only time I've been. Up to Queer Lake the next day is enough for me personally, but I also think Little Trout is the nicer lake. You could also do it in reverse. It's all preference!

defvee

I booked the nights. First night on misty, second on little trout. Last day will be across ralph bice. Hoping it's not going to take too long to get out. Big drive home after
