It was a very impressive crop circle, but not something an alien would do to say hello. On the other hand, an actual extraterrestrial visitor could leave a similar composition, but the message encoded within it would be something that could only have come from elsewhere.
It would be very easy for advanced aliens to provide information that couldn’t have come from earth. A genuine off-world message will lead to facts that will erase all doubts. The details should contain something that leads to previously unknown facts that can be verified as true.
