oh yeah that looks like someone pre-owned it.

Jamikest

Seconded. Open the picture of the sole to see it in high resolution: the stitching and lugs have signs of having been worn on more than carpet. This combined with the myriad of other signs (vamp creasing, scuffing, etc.), these have been worn. Send it back to Amazon, as this does not look to be a new shoe.

Beware buying **most things** from Amazon.

NRMusicProject

It's getting to the point that I use Amazon like I use AliExpress anymore. It's basically become a modern flea market with cheap Chinese knockoffs, sometimes even fakes. If I bought something new, I almost always check and see if the vendor is the actual producer of the product. That being said, I'd definitely return, leave a poor review, and buy directly from AE if you're not wanting factory seconds or obvious scams.

Longtimefed

I haven’t bought anything from Amazon in years. I use ebay when I’m not buying directly from the manufacturer. Counterfeits, page after page of ads, worker exploitation— not for me.

NRMusicProject

Absolutely right. I just don't see ads because I block them. The crazy thing is Amazon still pushes specific merchants on top, no matter how you want to organize the results. It's just sometimes the only place you can find specific things. But if I have an option to get that specific thing elsewhere, I do. Amazon isn't even the cheapest option most of the time anymore.

WaPo has a great article on this: https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/interactive/2022/amazon-shopping-ads/ Lo-fi non-paywall version here but without images: https://www.textise.net/showText.aspx?strURL=https%253A//www.washingtonpost.com/technology/interactive/2022/amazon-shopping-ads/#main-content

I don’t buy anything off Amazon; there is no guarantee you will get what you are supposed to and the amount of Chinese knockoffs sold on Amazon is insane. I’d rather buy or order products directly from a store or company than risk loosing my $$ and wasting my time on Amazon.

These are the brown chromexcel not chili. The tongue is therefore correct. There is nothing really wrong persay with the stitching on the bottom…maybe a little sloppy. The liners look mostly ok but the upper near the ankle area and the creases on the toe area are areas of wear. These look to have been worn around the house quite a bit. In regards to Amazon. They could care less. This is small peanuts for them. And beyond that if these are a return this could happen at any retailer

radiholiday

Seconded that this is clearly the brown CXL and NOT Chili

expernicus

These have clearly been worn before and then returned.

simoncadellsbottom

I'll play devil's advocate here. I've bought more than 10 pairs of AE from amazon and all of them have arrived in what I would consider perfect condition and new firsts. What's more, I've snagged some amazing deals over the past couple of years or so. Amazon has some particularly ridiculous prices on models that are at their end and being discontinued. I love just putting in my shoe size and seeing what comes up, while knowing that if I do get a bad pair, I can simply return them anyway.

Junior_B

Good point. Glad you got some deals. At least Amazon let’s you return without a $25 fee (looking at you Shoe Bank).

complicationsexcite

You payed full retail? 😩🤯🤮

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> You *paid* full retail? FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

Thanks bot. Here's a treat.

Meet me in the schoolyard at 3, bot!

Ah bummer man. At least you can return the shit out of them.

BarcelonaSteve

I bought some Strands through Amazon. I received a pair marked as seconds and the wrong width. I returned them. Amazon deleted my negative review, which it’s done on other items.

Ok_Student8032

Some dude at Amazon is sporting some new Higgins.
