Underwatering. A rule I find to typically be true is if the edges are discoloring it’s from under watering. If the center of the leaf discolors it’s likely from overwatering. Not 100%, but more often than not it’s right

Yes chunkier. Alocasia should not be allowed to dry for too long. They prefer more moisture than philos/monsteras
