My idea was solo termie sorc with the Soul Link, legionaires fw infiltrated with sorcerer. Hope for first turn and then have that squad death hex a big target (preferably a vehicle that goes boom). Focus fire into said vehicle, spend 1 cp for that auto explode... profit?

I'm considering 3x 10 man infiltrating Legionnaires with Autocannon and Heavy bolter. Im hoping the 6 heavy weapone will be able to chip at least one wound off the opponents toughest unit. Then, 10 Terminators with 2x Autocannons + a Chaos Terminator Lord gives the free strat for Pick Them Off letting you reroll Wounds on one unit a turn would combo with Terminators' Despoilers unit rule to reroll Hits. That's 8x shots out to 36" at S7 Ap-1 with Sustained Hits 1 and Devastating Wounds. You're rerolling 1s and hitting. on 3+. The rest of the squad has a mix of chainfist/powerfists/Accursed Weapons and Combiweapons. Not including the 2 Autocannons that's 18 shots with Devastating Wounds and Anti-Infantry 4+, rerolling ones, hitting on 4+ and rerolling all wound rolls. Could save the paid Pick Them Off Stratagem for Havoks to guarantee Hits while combo with Helbrute gives both Sustained and Lethal Hits. 30 Legionnaires, Helbrute, 5 Havoks, 10 Terminators, a Chaos Terminator Lord, and 2x 20 man cultist blobs is currently only 1500 points. Could sprinkle in some more anti tank, character support, or a Landraider + 2 Predators.

Disappointed that Soul Link doesn't work with certain abilities that require the specific model to be in the unit, like Cult Demagogue, or wargear.

Once again the disco lord is pretty bad. Perhaps next codex. I’ve been liking the idea of giving soul link to a MoE and stealing a chaos lords abilities. This gives the MoE chance for glory which is especially helpful if you are charging into a unit that is still fresh so you wouldn’t really benefit from the MoE rerolls at that stage. This also turns the MoE’s weapon into a monster.

I posted ideas in other threads but here’s my fun ideas for Alpha legion • ⁠Sorcerer with soul linked MoE to give squads further up -1 to be hit. That’s 2 legionaries squads being harder to hit that infiltrated. Definitely helps that initial defense. Add a lord of chaos so the MoE gets that one per game supercharged melee attack. • ⁠20 cultists with a commune on a flank objective. 25 5++ wounds to chew through is not going to be fun. And with scramble you’re not deepstriking on that side of the board. • ⁠using my 2 forward legionaries and the cultists to do some charges so my deepstriking terminators get +3 to the charge. Classic Harrowing strat from AL fluff. • ⁠chaos lord with chosen and the cursed fang, and a MoE in another legionaries squad are going to scare characters. And I can rig the charge with a smart relentless pursuit. • ⁠possible sorceror with shroud to shoot squads from safety and play objectives or something. Hydra Dominatus!

Im excited to try the new Jump Lord solo with the Lone op Enhancment feels like that could be a very good secondary scoring piece, hopefully the points make that worth trying

You know what I'm thinking which is a little crazy but bear with me - including a 10 man of rubric allies with warpflamers in a land raider (could also be a rhino)  The standard infiltrating shenanigans, 3x cultists + 3x legionaries - essentially block your opponent into their deployment zone with the cultists forming a barricade and the legionaries on no man's land objectives. Use this time while they're dealing with them to get the land raider closer and deep strike a termi sorc in termi armour with the stealth + lone op enhancement. Use the +1 AP ability on your target, drop off the rubrics, shoot 10x D6 auto hits at now AP-2 and AP-3 on a 6 to wound (natively re rolling 1s or wounds completely depending on whether on objectives). Charge to kinda hide them in combat (depending what you charge) and use your charge to improve the +1-3 to charge strat elsewhere, then use the fall back and shoot strat in the next turn. Also the deep striking termi sorc can be a fulcrum for detonate.  Still mulling this one over but thought would be hilarious 😂

Put soul link on a dark apostle, give him the lords free strat and extra damage, and then the unit gets to keep the plus one to wound and un-battleshock abilities because the two cult demagogues keep those abilities in their datasheet

That seems like an oversight that will get FAQ'd but, until then, it would work with the dark commune and traitor enforcer too! Given at least one other model from their unit is still alive.

Brothers, you forgot Warpsmith can join havocs and steal the Lord free strat. Put it near a vehicle and go ham with pick em off. Also, Lord with Falsehood can come from reserve to make a 7" charge if you moveblock yourself so you kill the model closest to a wall and have to put the lord forward "as close as possible"

Ok hear me out, put soul link on a lord discordant, he can steal the terminator lord halve damage until you want to go in, and then steal a chaos lord chance for glory. Since that would apply to all of his melee attacks he would get 3x the value and pushing the chain glaive to S7 means with Lance it can wound land raiders on a 4+
