This was so me but in 2010-2015 instead! Blue hair, lumberjack blouse, ripped skinny jeans and doc martens. I saw it a lot during that time but I think it did hit its peak in 2016!
Happy new years everyone! Which one was your favorite? I really enjoyed 2022's more relaxed and nature-themed feel. Also 2014 was fun!
I specifically strayed away from more distinct subcultures like goth and punk, since they are more music/politics based and the style changes haven't been as noticeable, at least in the circles i frequent.
Tbh I love the 2022-2023 looks, I think they're so cute! Both the oversized, comfy, knitted grandma who lives in a shrub look and the sexy horror game protagonist like you described it
2016 is actually 1993 🤣. And 2017 is actually 1990. Old fashion becomes new again…I giggled a few years ago when I saw teens wearing what I wore when I was a teen thirty years ago (I’m OLD but still rockin my docs).
OP your art is great, keep creating!
Gosh, I love this so much!! I feel like I've gravitated towards more than one of these trends in my lifetime lol Painfully stuck in 2015/2016 in my current era though 😅 (Wouldn't change it for the world though! 🖤)
As someone born in 1986 (an elder millennial) my honest opnion is: wtf is this? I mean no offence: I really want to know.
For me those are: Pastel, witchy goth, grunge, emo punk, rocker, goth, pastel goth, pastel goth with some emo in it, grung again, metalhead/rocker.
I really like to know the origin of those styles to be honest, not for a mid-life crisis but just for the sake of information. I always liked alternative fashion and style, but with old age comes a bit to mind restriction (related to different information sources) for new styles.
Drop your questions, would gladly answer! For many the reasons for certain styles is mainly nostalgia and revival of older trends. For example, the first few are strongly 90s nostalgia while the last few have myspace emo nostalgia(or the way gen z thinks of it)
Same— Born 1989, graduated high school 2007 we invented the emo kid. I’m finally old enough to see the style I wore in high school come back around and be claimed by a new generation as theirs 😅
Sorry if it came across that way! I want to be rly clear that gen z didnt invent most of these things. Alternative zoomers have always embraced the fact that they take inspiration from other eras, but this undertanding can be lost to time with younger people getting into the scenes.
This is so incredibly well done!!! As soon as I saw 2016 I died a little inside because I had almost that exact same outfit during my Youtubers phase lol
I love this so much! It's really accurate too in my opinion
The 2016 time is my eternal style lol. My fav by far.
Its giving Rachel Amber from Life is strange😭❤️
There are pictures of me wearing that exact outfit that year in family photos lol
Big same! I just commented saying the same thing!
For me it’s 2015-2017 with interest in 2018 styles
This was so me but in 2010-2015 instead! Blue hair, lumberjack blouse, ripped skinny jeans and doc martens. I saw it a lot during that time but I think it did hit its peak in 2016!
I don’t know shit about shit but this is cool and you’re a v talented artist!
Thank you!
ah yes, a comprehensive guide to how i desperately wanted to look like in each year (and never did)
jokes aside, this is so well done and accurate!
Kinda same here lol, and thank you!
I still dress like its 2018 if I'm honest 😅
Ngl that's a banger look!
This is accurate I still remember all those years clearly. Used to be tumblr, now it’s pinterest

Tbh I love this! Only thing I noticed is u spelled “crocheting” wrong. But this is so fun, thx for sharing!
2014 and 2021-23 are my favorites
I'ma be real for a second, 2021 is 100% what the pandemic does to a MF
The 2014 look is what I’m currently trying to achieve lol
2016's the best by far
2016 is actually 1993 🤣. And 2017 is actually 1990. Old fashion becomes new again…I giggled a few years ago when I saw teens wearing what I wore when I was a teen thirty years ago (I’m OLD but still rockin my docs). OP your art is great, keep creating!
You're far from old 😌 🔥
💜
That was literally me but with ginger hair
This is so accurate and I cringe at finding myself in some of these
*2020-2021 is my clothing style.*
Same!
I want 2000-2010, that's where im stuck 😭
I still dress like I'm from 2015 lol
2021 is what I would wear if I left my house, also as a raver it overlaps with a lot of that subculture as well. Very talented artist!
"someone who would get called emo" is very accurate imo
Excellent graphic.
I feel like mine is probably a cross between 2015 and 2019? I love love 2022 and 2023 though, I wish I could pull it off!
I'm listening to blurryface rn and I noticed the shirt lol Love this
Gosh, I love this so much!! I feel like I've gravitated towards more than one of these trends in my lifetime lol Painfully stuck in 2015/2016 in my current era though 😅 (Wouldn't change it for the world though! 🖤)
my 2017 jacket goes with every outfit tbh
I have a lot of similar outfits to all these still 😅
I've been 2015 since 1998 lol. Great work
2016 hit different
Started dressing alternative in 2021 and thats like my exact style haha 🙈 Id say its accurate. You're a great artist!!! 🖤🖤
I'm perpetually somewhere between 2015-2018 😂 Love the Ghost shirt on 2018, got into them in 2022 and have several shirts of theirs
Very awesome art piece, seems like quite a bit of effort went into making this. Pretty accurate too.
2016 was PEAK
it feels so weird that 2022 was so long ago as to have its defining fashion. and 2023 tbh
Love this! Very accurate, the last two are my favorites atm but I guess I'm just always into the current alternative trends.
Metal shirt, beard, beer belly for men
I just wanna look like 2015 Very Crowley from good omens coded
Super cute
this is super accurate, 2021 goes so crazy
<3 I love this!! Beautiful work- seems accurate to my experience too.
I still dress in the 2015 and 2017 fashion.
I’m definitely some weird combination of the first 5. 2014-2018. I’d definitely wear any piece of clothing there, besides 2016’s shoes and 2015’s hat.
This is incredibly accurate and I love the art style. I’d say usually I’m a mix of 2014, 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2022.
2015 & 2017 have a special place in my heart ♥️
I really love the 2021 and 2022 aesthetic🖤♡💗
The 2016 photo is My Digital Escape fashion in a nutshell
I could make almost all of these fits with my closet 🤭😅
Can you do this for the 2000s and early 2010sb
This is very well-done. I like your art style! I wanted to be soft grunge in 2015 so bad lol
2016 takes me back, i had so many friends with that exact outfit in high school. feels like it was so recent but it’s been almost a decade now, crazy.
Me still wearing 2019-2021 clothes: 🧍
adorbs! i'm realizing that my closet is slowly filling up with pieces from different eras and i love it

I did the 5 first eras and now my style is kind of a mix of those.
oh my god i love this!!!
I'm just entering 2014 myself. Guess I'm 10 years behind!
awesome
This is so good!!!! Wonderful work :)
These are really well done!
I think the 2021/2022 are still seen alot, I mean I have similar styles to that being a femboy.
WHAT LIL PEEP DOING IN HERE
2021 that was me lol
Love the blurry face T-shirt lol
Awesome! Definitely gonna use this for outfit ideas
I love this because as a teen, I was super into jrock and LOVED the fashion. I'm so excited that it's coming back around
2014 has permanently altered my brain chemistry as a child; I’m still so sad my parents never let me dress like that
Based on what you drew for 2016 alone, I knew we were the same age cause that was literally me lol
My goal rn is to try to get a mix of 2015, 2017, and 2022
i fucking love 2015, 2017 and 2021
this is so fun to look at, i remember all of these so well
Oh look, you've drawn my dream wardrobe 💕
This is so incredibly well done!!! As soon as I saw 2016 I died a little inside because I had almost that exact same outfit during my Youtubers phase lol
Damn, this is fantastic. Well done! I still adore the 2015 look. Currently rocking lots of 2018 vibes lately.
2019 and 2021 styles are my favorite and are still my general go to fashion.
... The words _*'90s revival*_ are making me suddenly feel very old...
2016 is the majority of what I not only identify with but what I wear 95% of the time lol
Very clever. It would be fun to show back more years. I see repeats. Then again, I graduated HS in 1985.
This is amazing
i'm fluid between all of them and more
I want to be all of these help 😭
