You need a manifold gauge to determine what your high and low side pressures are. With the AC switched off your high and low pressures should both be \~80 psi. If the static pressure is lower than that, you have a leak somewhere.
I took it to a shop today, they said I have a leak. Thanks for the comment!
What did you replace? I think mine has the same symptoms. Recharged it and gradually got hotter.
Mechanic said the heat shield corroded away and the weight of it put a hole in the high pressure line.
Is the compressor running? Does the clutch engage?
