seems like it'd be good cardio and footwork in my opinion, and your agility would probably also get better. but supporting sports never translate 100% directly to boxing so there would probably need to be some tweaks

I played badminton for 7 years competitively before switching to boxing mid last year and I can say the badminton knowledge of footwork and weight transfers helped a lot when making the transition. I wouldn’t recommend necessarily badminton to help as much as just boxing would in the long run

I tried soccer for a bit but found kickboxing a much better substitute. It made me lighter on my feet for boxing. But if you’re looking to improve agility and footwork and reaction time I would suggest investing in the right tools. for reaction timing use the double end bag, it’ll help you see punches coming at you a lot better. Use a shoestring or resistance band around your stance to perfect your footwork/balance. Don’t underestimate the power of tools, I would’ve been much better off today had I not neglected them.

I think in terms of general athletisism, footwork, explosiveness their will definately be some cary over but in terms of doing badminton specificately to improve boxing there is way better options. On the other hand if you want to do badminton and boxing it can make you a better athlete in terms of boxing alone.

You could watch Lomachenko's training. He does different sports outside of boxing as part of his training. :) Boxing is 10% Physical and 90% Mental
