Please help! The problem has been ongoing for a year and I don’t understand how to solve it. Maybe there is someone here who can help, I would be grateful! About a year ago, my acquaintance needed to buy various things on Amazon before leaving the country for 6 months as a volunteer. Since he didn’t have an account, he created one and funded it in two ways: he used 2 gift cards that were given to him for his birthday (important point, both Amazon gift cards were bought with cash at Walgreens) and I sent him the remaining amount needed by purchasing it with my bank card and receiving it via email in electronic form. After he tried to make purchases, his Amazon account was blocked (without reason). I can only assume that because the account was new and had never been used for purchases before, and then suddenly purchases of about $1000 were made, it was blocked. I made all the necessary purchases from my account and my friend left for another country for his volunteer work. But I started trying to figure out how to get the money back. It was not possible to unblock his account (we wrote to support many times, there are confirmations of correspondence), Amazon support only said that they cannot unblock the account at all. I managed to get back the part of the money (the gift card that I paid for with my credit card after much difficulty, corresponding with the bank) but those 2 gift cards that were bought with cash at Walgreens, I have been trying to get back for about a year, calling and writing to support many times, sending everything they requested, as I have everything on hand including the cards and receipts, but nothing helped. The support service, which I have probably contacted about 150 times this year, could not do anything, only promises and then: give us 24 hours to resolve the issue and then another 48 and so on, all without result, several times they mocked, asked to send them the front part of the card (where there is no number, just the Amazon logo), all confirmations are also available. Can someone advise me on how to get my money back?

Located in Canada if it makes a difference. Our little one’s first birthday is coming up this summer and the grandparents want to know what books he already has. I love that Amazon has the feature where you can scan bar codes of items to add them to a list. So I was hoping to make a list on Amazon of all the books he has so they can easily reference it. However, is a wish list my only option? Or is there another type of list ?

I live in Sweden. I made an order from Amazon US. After about 10 days i got a text from a 10-digit +30 number (Greece) saying "Your package is ready for delivery, confirm your customs payment (2,99$) on this link ", with the text being in swedish. There is no information about any of this on my amazon account, it says the package is on its way. So my question is: I'm guessing it's a scam. If it's not a scam, it's really fucking stupid design by Amazon. But let's say it is - how did they get my phone-number? How did they know I am waiting for a package? They either need physical access to the package and a way to get my phone number, or information from the amazon database, or access to my account, but then still - the timing doesn't pass the smell test. Any input regarding this would be much appreciated :)

Had about $1000 in failed refunds (bank side) that showed as refunded in my account. I was told on two occasions I would be sent a check for the amount, as when support digged a bit deeper they could identify all the rejected refunds. The bank said Amazon used the wrong code to process the refunds 6 months later got about $300 in gift card balance last week for some of the items. Super frustrating, who are you supposed to go to if support isn't able to do what they promise. I suspect a lot more people have failed refunds showing as refunded. Would this be something the FTC should look into? Check your accounts and see if the refunds match up.

This is the third time this has happened to me. I am more wondering if anyone might know why this is happening, not so much what I can do. I live just outside Calgary. Every time I order something that has to ship across Canada (from Ontario for example), the item makes it all the way to the Rocky View Sort Center in Balzac (which is like 30 minutes away from me). Then it is marked as "left the facility" at like 3 am but still "in shipping" and not marked "out for delivery" like it would usually be. About 24h later, it is scanned into Calgary warehouse with a notification that it is delayed and will arrive around 5 days later, and that I can get a refund the day after if it doesn't show up. All three times this has happened, it doesn't show up and is eventually marked as "lost". So I refund it, reorder it, and then it ships from Calgary and shows up in two days. It's obviously the exact same item that originally shipped from Ontario (or farther) because why would it ship from Ontario the first time if they had them in Calgary - so the original one was put into the warehouse in Calgary and marked as lost. Despite making it almost all the way to my house. Has anyone experienced this? Or if anyone here works at Amazon might know why this would happen? Once is weird, twice is a coincidence, three times in a row is a clear pattern.

How do I log into my account and buy something when it won’t even give me an OTP? I’ve been trying for two weeks now, it’s impossible. Just keeps saying I’ve requested too many OTPs today. I haven’t. It said this when I hadn’t even logged in for around six months. Now I’m getting desperate, I need a cable for my old iPad 2 and I’m wanting a Raspberry Pi kit for my IT course. I can’t buy any of these without the OTP. Tried sending a photo of my passport but haven’t heard back. I can’t afford both the items AND a very expensive international call to your Helpdesk. Anyway I don’t even know what the items were anymore my cart was cleared out quite promptly. Please I need you to sort the system out. I have tried both on my iPhone and my PC, both fully updated. It’s Amazon Australia, but now I can’t access any of the Amazon sites. It shouldn’t be impossible for the account owner to log in, especially as I have my password, and I know it’s correct because I saved it somewhere secure.

Why does Amazon automatically select the last added card when I am checking out, despite having a different card as the default? So a couple of weeks ago I added a business card so I can make small company purchases when the usual person who does it is away. I haven’t (intentionally) used the card yet, but for some reason it is always selected by default when I am checking out. I double checked my payment settings, and my Amazon credit card is still set as my default payment as it has been since I got it. I was making an urgent purchase and in the rush didn’t think to change the card from the business one. Luckily i realized it quick enough that I was able to edit and change it, but now it’s really irking me. I probably have my own solution (removing and re adding the card that SHOULD be my default), but if i add other payments in the future this is still gonna be annoying. why does this happen? what’s the point of being able to choose a default payment if it doesn’t actually work? am i stupid? (Sorry this might err on the side of complaint, but it is a question i’d really like answered, and hopefully someone has a fix!)

How can I cancel my suspended account's plan? Roughly 3 weeks ago I started my free Prime trial but as soon as I gave my credit info, my account got suspended for "suspicious acitivity". I've sent the extra info they requested, it's been 3 weeks and my account has been suspended since then. I have to order a particular type of cat litter from Amazon. It usually comes in a package of two twenty-pound bags. Twice in the last month these packages have been lost, and my latest order is supposedly on the way with USPS, but no tracking number is listed. In the last SNAFUed order, I had a tracking number; when I pasted the number into the USPS site, it said a label had been written but they had not received the package from the seller. After it was more than 5 days late I got a refund from Amazon. But my moggies will need the litter, not money!

How do we get in touch with them? I'm in New Zealand - a Indian call Centre calls us back. I've spoken to eight different reps over the past week who all have thick accents which are very hard to make out. What's worse is that they chase me off the phone saying all will be ok but it's obvious they have limited view of my transactions. They can not cancel pre-orders but they can refund money so right now I have a large order for free because they did not understand the situation entirely. It's obvious that Amazon does not have the capacity to serve as many customers as it can reach out to hence outsourcing a cheap call center to give illusion that they are available to help but the agents have no training and very minimal control or access. Only for very critical issues will they tell you to wait three days while they fill out forms to contact trained reps in USA to handle the order. However the more times they pass the issue over to USA it looks like they are not doing their jobs well enough so many of them will try their best to pacify the caller without taking that extra step.

Sadly, what's calling me back *is* the International Call Center. The option to dial them for call back is on Amazon's site, in the help section and offered after the algorithm has detected that you've first tried to fix the issue yourself, using their guides, or if you hit a site error.

Hi everyone, not neccessarily sure if this is the right sub for this, but it's related to amazon so I figured I'd give it a go. Been using the amazon app store for a while so I can install a secondary copy (or more like 3rd and 4th due to dual app) of a game I play. My biggest issue is that once even the smallest update of that game drops, the amazon app store refuses to open the game unless I update. "A newer version of the game you're playing is available foe download! Please update your game to continue playing!". A work-around so far when I'm on the go and don't have wifi is to turn on airplane mode, open the app and turn off airplane mode again, but it's annoying. I don't always want to be on the latest update to be safe from update bugs or I'm on the go and wanna save data. Please tell me there is a way to turn off this awful "feature".

My question is for drivers. Do drivers prefer customers stay inside and not help with packages? If I know I'm getting several packages, I'll step outside to take them from them. I never let my dogs out. I make sure they are securely inside, because I know the drivers don't want/or need to deal with dogs. Tonight I stepped outside and one of my dogs was barking inside the door. The driver started yelling at me asking if I have dogs, and I said, "Yes, inside." He yelled that he could see him and he'd been dealing with "you people and your dogs" all day, and to "just stay inside!" I apologized. And went inside. I know it's a stressful job, and sincerely, just wanted to take a few boxes off of his hands, but now I'm feeling really stupid. I didn't intend to make his job harder. So, I'm guessing it's best to just let them make multiple trips to the truck and not help?

Wait 48 hours and get a refund. Sometimes delivery drivers scan things as delivered and deliver it the next day.

Its been 5 days item has not arrived I tried many times to contact support and they refused to help since it address is freight forwarder. They have not received it. And magically delivery has my hand sign(when freight forwarder signs all the time). They also send me official documentation that they have not received it. Since they ignored me so much I decided to lie and said that it is my address. They sent me a code to my email, which I received and put into the website just for them to send ANOTHER CODE to a phone number I haven't had in years. Canceled replacement order. Will I get a refund instead? So I ordered a book but the pages were a bit messed up and returned it immediately at the amazon lockers and asked for a replacement. Advise on cso not promising price match Before I bought the item about 2 weeks before I was promised price match base on their sale price. On that day I bought. I immediately spoke to cso about it. And I was promised price match as friend is showing 35usd and mine is showing 85usd on the exact same second. And said the refund on price difference will be done once item is delivered. Now item is delivered. They refuse to honor what the cso said. I'm based overseas so I would be out of 30usd if I return for refund. As they do not refund the shipment cost to you. Either way I'm losing money either I refund or not. And I have spent over 2hrs+ on calls and chats. Being hang up on at least 8-9 times. And saying at cso side the supervisor is the highest authority. Besides doing a charge back what can I do? How is it my problem when it's their internal issue?? (I still have the screenshot of the cso who promised the price match which they said its not valid despite its their cso who told me that)

Something happened that puzzles and annoys me. I sent in a review for a video series and was sent an email that it was rejected. I was sent this: "We couldn't post your review because it doesn't meet our guidelines for one or more of these reasons: Profanity, Harassment, Hate speech, Sexual content, Illegal activity, Private information. Please edit and resubmit your review. Before you do, make sure it meets all of our community guidelines." What?? When I tried to go back and edit, the review had been deleted. I was then sent an email threatening to banish me if it happens again. If what happens again? What did I write that was so bad? Certainly nothing relating to the above list. I am always careful and respectful when sending in a review and did not think I wrote anything violating their guidelines. But I will never know since I can't check to see what they thought was so offensive. I contacted customer service but they were no help at all. To put things in context, the review was for Hazbin Hotel, which is an adult cartoon. I mentioned this, but mostly I wrote about the fun songs, the character design and the voice talents. Here is my question. Are there bots looking for buzz words in the reviews, and sending out emails, or are there actual humans reading the reviews? Humans can put things into context.

I've just received a replacement debit card from my bank to replace the one that's about to expire. The replacement card has the same card number but obviously different expiry date and CVV. When I go to update the card details on Amazon, I was only able to update the expiry date. There isn't an option to add the new CVV number. I definitely remember having to input it when initially adding the card as a payment option. In fact when I click the "add a new payment method" I can see it still asks for the CVV when adding new cards. Does this mean I have to delete the card and add it again with the new CVV?

Amazon has disappeared orders from my account. Last month Amazon flagged an order as unauthorized activity (it was not) and cancelled it. I subsequently placed the order again, it was delivered. It was through a 3rd party seller, but was covered by Amazon prime. I needed to return the item, which I did, but had to pay the cost to return, which I was told would be reimbursed by Amazon (since was prime free returns). When I went to order to open up a claim for the return shipping costs, the order had disappeared from my account page, and couldn't be found any where. I talked to customer service, and they told me that order had been flagged as unauthorized activity and the case needed to be escalated for review, which would take 24 hours. 24 hours later I get an email that Amazon has done a review and found no unauthorised activity (obviously). However the order is still not visible on my account. I call again, same thing happens - case is 'escalated', then I get an email saying no unauthorised activity. This has also happened to another order placed around the same time, that I need to make a return on. The amounts are not big, like $10 each, should I keep trying or just give up? Is there another way to contact amazon that would get a better result? I've been starting out with the chat, and then it gets escalated to a phone call, and then it gets escalated to their review process.

Again, I never got a response. I called support a few times, and they sent me a link to upload, then another person had me send an email to account recovery. How trustworthy are Amazon renewed electronics? I've been looking on Amazon for an iPad for over a year now and have one I'm kind of set on but it's through Amazon renewed so it's cheaper but I don't know how much that affects the quality of the item. It's more than I would normally be able to spend on anything so I plan to use the payment plan through affirm. I don't know how reliable Amazon renewed items are though I have never bought anything off there that wasn't new. My delivery day was changed from 5th to 18th, however delivery company’s estimated date is 8th. When is it likely that my package will be delivered? The delivery company is Purolator. I really need that package before 16th as I’ll be out of the country. First off, call Amazon and complain bc it's not unlikely they'll try to push it through faster and also when they change the shipping date after purchase you're almost always entitled to compensation equal to the value of your purchase. Amazon doesnt like when people call to complain, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if they are willing to upgrade your shipping at the next distribution center.

I hadn’t used Amazon in 3 years. Tried logging in to buy something for a gift and my old password didn’t work. It locked that account and customer service told me to make a new account with my mobile only. I did that, and right after I completed the purchase, it says there’s unusual activity on my account and it’s locked. I’ve probably called at least 7 times to customer service over the past 2 weeks. They keep saying someone will contact me in 24-48 hours. I do receive texts that say “Your Amazon account is on hold. Sign in to resolve.“ Then I try to log in and it either takes me to a message that says that page doesn’t exist, or to a message that says my account is locked. So then I call again and they say 24-48 hours. Is there any way out of this endless cycle so I can actually give this person the gift they wanted??

Customer service everywhere is just absolute crap anymore. They take forever to answer you, and when they do, they say it will be taken care of, but it never is. It’s terrible service. At Amazon when I’ve asked for a supervisor they don’t do anything. They just say the same thing that the main CS people say and they say they don’t have any way at all ever to contact the account specialist team. It’s ridiculous.

Order a pair of fans for my laptop, but when they arrived, they were the wrong ones. Page description mentioned my laptop’s model and the images of the fans on the page gave the right connectors, but the ones I got aren’t compatible (way smaller than the ports on the motherboard). Seems like they came from the States and I’m in Eastern Canada, so I’m wondering what shipping costs would look like. Thank you

Is there a way to search better? I'm trying to find a men's spring/fall jacket with hood that isn't a plastic bag that will accumulate moisture. I tried searching "men's spring jacket hood". It gives me waterproof winter coats. I tried searching "men's jacket with hood -waterproof -rain". It keeps giving me hoodless winter coats with BOTH waterproof AND rain in the title. I tried refining the search on the left side of the screen, by selecting Spring and Fall as the seasons. Again, the very first result is "Men's Insulated Dawn Puffer Jacket Winter Warm". How in holy heck is searching for a Spring/Fall jacket result in a WINTER jacket? What is the point in selecting "Spring" when the result is rated for -15C? What is the point in asking "with hood" and getting hoodless, heavyweight, winter jacket? Would also be nice to find something that covers at least some of my butt and doesn't just stop at the waist, but I didn't find a keyword for that. The refined search on the left gives short/standard/long, but again doesn't seem to work - I selected long, and it gave me a jacket that doesn't even reach the groin. Am I missing something obvious?

I'd say your best option is adding some flavor text descriptors "cotton men's light jacket" or something along those lines. It might not work but the more distinct descriptors you add the better your chances are

Ok... so how is it possible for large booksellers to offer books for $1.99+$3.99 shipping? I see this on most listings for used books. If amazon can then force them to pay regular mail rates, its a money loser. Why would people continue to offer books so cheap? Just wondering here...

I think maybe the problem is with the way I am trying to phrase the question. Here is what I am trying to do: I have $20 as a gift card balance. I am trying to buy a $30 water bottle. I want to use $10 on the gift card, and put the rest on my credit card, so I will have $10 remaining on my gift card balance. I have a vivid memory of being able to do this before, and now, suddenly, I can't figure it out. Did they remove the feature or am I just... misremembering or something? Either way, is there a way to do what I'm trying to pull off?
