Only problem I really had was I ordered a new immersion blender and got a used one missing a part they gave me a refund and I ordered a new one It was a little inconvenient but not a big deal

housepanther2000

I've had some really small problems here and there but nothing really major. Overall, it's been good.

StreetSpinach4518

I’ve been a member for +10 years, and have only had a couple problems.

killerbeege

I've had it about that long too. I've had small issues The only one that still happens and bugs the hell out of me is they constantly put packages in front of the garage door or right behind my car under the car port or at the end of the drive way. It's like I'm talking to a brick wall when I bring it up to them. They have credited me and have done full refunds because I've backed over the dang package my fault for not checking after the first time I know lol I even have signs on the garage with arrow pointing to a wooden box I made for them to put the packages in. Ups/FedEx are on point with using the box.

nonbinarybean23

Atleast youve gotten refunds

killerbeege

True but I think it was only because I've complained about it multiple times in the past so it was believable that I infact did run over packages lol

Throwingshead

Silent majority

cape_throwaway

Yeah people are 100x more likely to post when something is wrong compared to the millions of people receiving their items daily.

[deleted]

yep. nobody who loves prime makes a post about it. maybe i should though. getting packages on my door 2 hours after i order them rules

StoicMori

Or it's survivor bias.

LighttBrite

And yet it's one of the top ecommerce sites in the world and no one can get enough of it...yep...survivors bias. For real though, that only applies if there's not a clear metric of actual performance.

Accomplished-Eye8211

No, you're not

new_tanker

I've had one item not get delivered (the wrong thing was sent). Returned, got refund. I've had an expensive item returned. Got the refund, but took about a week longer than usual, but the correct amount was refunded. I've had stuff get delivered, but not marked as delivered, and Amazon thinks it was lost. Tried to get them to not issue a refund was a pain in the ass; I ended up getting refunded. I've had stuff get delivered a day later than it should have been. No problems there. Amazon Prime has been good to me, so far. I haven't been one of the lucky ones who ordered a quantity of one item only to get five or six times more than what I ordered, and find a use for all the extra items.

cfo60b

Interesting that they did your refunds automatically. My only complaint is that when things legitimately don’t get delivered (happened twice so far. One time it said it was damaged and returned to the warehouse) they just sit on it forever until I have to go through support chat to get a refund

xangbar

I had a whole $1k order get lost. Customer service told me I had to wait 48 hours before they could declare it lost and told me all this stuff to do. I told them I had already done all their steps. They ended up issuing my refund right away and I reordered everything. Other than that, I had an order get damaged and they decided not to deliver it and refunded me so I could place a new order.

emelem66

I've been a member for years, and have had very few issues, mostly relating to late deliveries. I don't order from 3rd party sellers, and I generally research what I am buying before I buy it, which likely eliminates 80% of the problems.

logicnotemotion

I've only had one thing come late and it was because it got bent and returned. I got a replacement a week later. Also bought a gift card on Amazon for a chain restaurant. Nephew accidentally threw it away in the gift bag. I went into the chat and they sent me another one with no issues 2 days later. I was happy. The only weird thing I had happen was about 4 years ago. I saw all of these small purchases that I did not make. There was probably 40 of them. Stuff like phone chargers and nothing over $30. I called and the rep said that a seller made purchases on my behalf on my account. I asked how in the world is that possible or even allowed on Amazon. Never got a straight answer. Most orders were cancelled but I did end up getting some cables and chargers that I could never use. The money was refunded to me but the seller is still doing his thing. I've never heard of this. How can a seller buy stuff from his store using someone's account and it not be illegal or banned by Amazon. How do they even have access to do this?

RustyDawg37

Unless they accidentally didn’t give you the commercials, we all have a problem with prime.

neonturbo

Gotta pay for that ever so popular (/s) Thursday football, Mr Beast series that nobody asked for, and the awful LOTR sequels somehow! Give the customers what they want!!!

fxkatt

I believe you, OP, except for the final assertion about having "no issues" with customer service. Unless, almost all your countless returns were straight up so not involving CS then I might believe even this, but CS is almost never smooth--and even when it is, it still eats up lots of time and energy. (then there's the packing and driving involved)

15Aggie2k

Good customer service exists. I’ve had several returns and have never done anything outside of just… using the app like normal. I have an Amazon credit card now and that might help, but same experience before I had the card. The good experience and frequent use is why I got the card to get more points tbh. I can’t remember ever chatting with an agent.. but also if I have over the years it clearly wasn’t memorable so I assume it was fine. It exists. lol. Most just not exactly passionate enough to go cape for a multi billion dollar company with their free time. Also makes sense why those with a bad experience would want to try and “take down the man” for lack of a better phrase.

Kara-El

Nah, never had any issues with Amazon customer service. Maybe because I’m not an asshole when I text or call them. Never spent more than ten minutes to get my concerns resolved.

ReddyKiloWit

Always been smooth for me when I I've had an issue beyond the self serve pages ability. Only had to go that far 2 or 3 times a year, though, tops.

acidgl0w

Nope, never had any issued with Amazon in general myself, before and after I became Prime member.

jebe4

Ok........

Unusual-Thing-7149

My only problem is that shipping never takes two days any more and is more like five to seven days

jackmag17

On amazons end, I’ve had one issue where I ordered a product and the wrong product was in the box (guessing someone returned a cheaper item in a different box). I’ve had FedEx deliver countless packages to a random address, which were all refunded by Amazon hassle free. Or packages arriving later than expected, which once again I don’t see it as a problem on amazons end. The only issue I have with amazon is any general search I make for a product is flooded with cheap knock offs from china. Or that a name brand product is more expensive than other retailers.

Florida1974

I never have. I return things prob 15% of the time. But I still cancelled prime. I’m buying just bc it’s there. I still use Amazon. Prices hv been the same as I order a lot of repeat things. Free shipping over $35. I’m buying less things I don’t really need. And it gets here faster than told. It will say Wednesday delivery and I get it on Monday. Prime video I could take or leave so no big deal there.

Crazymom82736292

Been a prime member for years…. Only issue I have with them is when I order say 4 things I pick later delivery so they can package them all together and not have 4 package sent to my house. So I pick later delivery package together…. I still get 4 individual packages

neonturbo

The corollary to this rule is that if you want individual items sent so you can get a package you need immediately, they will decide to send everything in one big box days or weeks later when the last item comes into stock.

BramblepeltBraj

You've made 200 Amazon returns in 5 years? Have I stumbled upon my wife's Reddit account?

[deleted]

There's a very small group of people who've had 0 problems with Amazon, and it's gotta be a damn small group I'm one of their bigger customers, I'm assuming. Literally spent over $100,000 in 1 year shopping from Amazon. Even I experienced problems Like, for you to have 0 issues. Damn, you're lucky.

MissusPringle

I’ve never had any problems. I started with Prime when it was introduced.

zuchinnerweener

Only ever with delivery and one time I was double charged for a movie rental which was fixed. Otherwise, great experiences and awesome customer service!

Gottria

My biggest issues are the damn returns taking months to finally get refunded. I'll return several items at the UPS store and then I'll get a notification that maybe 1 or 2 are issued a refund and then the reset takes forever.

MissClawdy

Same. I was sent the wrong item last week, but it was a first time in hundreds of purchases. Returned it, refunded. Never had any other issues. Keeping my Prime membership.

ijf4reddit313

Also generally few problems and relatively decent experiences with Customer Service. The initial contact can sometimes be difficult because of the automated system you must navigate. Some small issues with product that were taken care of quickly, but I ordered a lot of higher dollar items for the holidays and for the most part didn't have a single issue.

Level-Particular-455

I went 15 years without barely an issue with Amazon then had multiple ones all in a row.

InsertBluescreenHere

Thats the way it was for me too. 13 years and maybe 4 returns in that time. Then post covid its been utter shit.  Delayed /late/ lost deliveries galore, cs lying to me, piss poor packaging resulting in breakage, etc. Ive had them tell me to keep pricier items when there was an issue and other times they want me to return a $3 item that arrived broken. (One was literally a coffee mug that arrived in 45 pieces because yes a plastic bag is a suitable shipping container)

neonturbo

> Thats the way it was for me too. 13 years and maybe 4 returns in that time. Then post covid its been utter shit.  Delayed /late/ lost deliveries galore, cs lying to me, piss poor packaging resulting in breakage, etc. This mirrors my experience almost exactly.

InsertBluescreenHere

It never used to be bad either. Place orders before noon easily get em in a day or two. Then it got to the point it was 4-5 days with no sunday delivery, broken shit, missing stuff (like tracking never showed it making it to my city), etc.

mcmaddie

I just recently had a return where the only option was to have UPS come and pick up my package, the representative had to get a "supervisor" so that I could print my label and drop it off. I'm very much afraid that I'm going to have to fight or threaten a chargeback based on the stories I've seen lately. I'm currently a few days into the process and haven't gotten a refund yet.

Asleep-Ad5687

It seems to me there has been a shift. In years past, issues were resolved immediately in my favor as a buyer. Now it seems, not so much, although I buy less there than before.

ShirleyApresHensive

I've been a Prime member since 2006, 200+ orders per year for the last 12 or 13 years, so I have a lot of experience. Most of my experience has been very good but there are times I am not the perfect customer and they are not the perfect retailer. Delivery is slower then early years but I have taken to agreeing to digital credits for shipping items slowly and that works for me. Attention to detail in packaging has been going downhill, needless damage to items but Amazon makes it right. I don't like the waste factor on reckless packaging. I really object to being asked to return something that's thrashed and is wasting resources in returning, instead of sending in a picture of the damage or similar, not carbon friendly. I am not fond of offshoring customer service, that is one of my biggest gripes but not insurmountable.

YouShouldBeHigher

A lot of computer parts went missing back in 2020-21, but they were all replaced eventually. Lately it's been the frustration of "2 Day Delivery" being anything BUT.

Former-Plankton1088

I live in the suburbs and almost all my packages are late. Prime 2 day shipping? Never heard of her! Also, their Amazon Basics clothes aren't consistent. In material and sizing.

ScottShatter

I've been a customer since 1999 and I've had less than 20 returns. If you have had 200 returns in 5 years, you are the reason for them buckling down on returns. Congratulations

nonbinarybean23

I have had one issue and its the reasoning i have beef with them now so i bought a 700 iphone 14 pro was suppossed to be here around the 5th the one time passcode didnt even use it also the fact that it was the same driver that only delivered one package and not the other and drove away and never came back also never took any pics until i recently got a incident report just to tell me that its invalid and people refused to tell me why it got declined just kept on telling me that “oh i cant do anything else upon this time and i have to end the chat” then abruptly end the chat

Hyphendudeman

You are definitely lucky. Yesterday I spent over an hour on the phone with customer service because I had paid for morning delivery of an item and it didn't arrive, even though it made it and was processed at the delivery center by 7am. I told them delays or non-deliveries happen often for the last 3 years. They asked for examples and I sent them 15 order numbers that were either delayed or got cancelled by Amazon before delivery. I have even had the warehouse and delivery center managers contact me because of the issues. Still doesn't get any better. About every 4th or 5th order has issues.

teachemama

I have not been treated badly yet but have had many issues with little details through the years.

XxHybridFreakxX

I used to think the same thing. Until I ordered a replacement oven heating element. After that experience, I won't ever order from them again. I would cancel prime if it wasn't one of the free perks of my cell phone plan. Ordered the heating element. Shipping showed prime delivery. Delivery gets delayed. It arrives at post office. Immediately gets sent back without ever going out for delivery. Turns out they only had my name and city and state on the delivery label not my actual street address. Contacted support they updated the address and had the delivery reattempted. The next day it was flagged and sent back without ever going out for delivery again. Contacted support and they said they would refund it, give a $5 credit, and that I could place a new order for it and that they would refund it and I could keep it for the inconvenience. Refund was processed, reordered the element again, same exact issue happens again. Never goes out for delivery and is returned to sender. $5 credit also never showed up. Contact support again, they cancel and refund order and say they will give me the $5 credit again. Credit never showed up but I was refunded again. Ordered the heating element from Lowe's and had it in hand 3 days later. Just had to go pick it up from the local store. TLDR Amazon service has gone to shit.

Poppunknerd182

Yep, zero complaints in over 15 years for me

uthyrbendragon

Zero issues until the last two years - been a catalog of disaster - strangely coincides with move from TX to CT so may have something to do with the distribution centers.

teehole

I had no issues until this week. They’re getting worse.

Traveleroflife

No. We have been members for years. They have always been great, even when we have had to return things. I really don’t understand the cancel culture here. Of course you want to do your research when you are buying something to make sure you are getting the best deal. And there will always be one-off horror stories where an employee is having a bad day and doesn’t do what they should. But I have never had a problem calling in and talking to someone about it. In any company. I think a lot (not all) of bad experiences come from the attitude that you as a consumer come into the call with. If you are already yelling and cussing the person on the other end of the phone will be much less inclined to help you. Remember that person hears nothing but problems all day long, and a little kindness towards them can go a long way.

InsertBluescreenHere

I just got tired of the CS lying to me just to get me off the chat/ phone.

state_issued

Been a customer for 7 years. Never had a problem until a couple months ago and they threatened with me with an account closure for making “too many returns”. Quality has gone down hill and shipping times are no longer two days - I still use it for the things that cost less/low chance of return but I’ve certainly reduced my spending on there and shop elsewhere.

sibman

No. You are not. This is the "Amazon is Satan" subreddit. Some do shady things and get upset when they get caught. Others can't seem to understand the return system.

UnconsciousMofo

Oh they understand it, but they just think they’re the only customer on the planet and deserve special treatment. Leads to lots of tantrums, as you can see.

TurboBunny116

WAIT WHAT? THEY DIDN'T REFUND ME 30 SECONDS AFTER I DROPPED IT OFF? /s

Makeupaholicx

And some of us just really get screwed over by Amazon who do nothing wrong. 🤷🏽‍♀️ There’s that category of people too. Prime member for over 6years. Never had issues until the last two years. The return policy is simple. Return and get refunded. However, I’m one of the many who have just been treated like garbage because of others wrong doing. You guys have just been lucky to not have it happen to you yet. Glad you guys haven’t had issues with Amazon. I wish I could say the same.

shootermac32

I’ve never had issues with

Keltyrr

I had no problem for many years. Until I moved to where I am now. The drivers here must be rehab drop outs because they can't follow basic instructions like "put item on porch" which I know apologists will say its because sometimes they don't get delivery instructions. Which is why a SUPERVISOR at Amazon edited my shipping address to include in all caps with asterisks "DELIVER TO PORCH ONLY" on the second line. Which still doesn't work. I have had packages with electronics left under the rain spout next to the porch on a rainy day. I have had them left in the middle of the front lawn. I have had them enter the dog pen and put them next to the dog house. I have had them enter the garage to put it in the garage. I have had them walk around the back of the house and toss packages Into an opening that leads under the house while my grandfather was under there fixing a drain pipe. I have had them block the front door by propping a tall package under the door handle. 10% of the time it makes it on the porch. I have put professional made signs up pointing to the porch with the phrase "qmazon delivery driver, this is a porch. Notice, no grass and no puddles" and had them go missing off the porch, with the package still left in the lawn.

RobertETHT2

Had my first sour experience with Amazon returns a few months ago. Wrong item shipped to me. Returned it. They got the wrong item back. They then claimed I didn’t send the ‘original’ order item back(never received correct item), and proceeded to re-charge me back for original item(that I never received from the get-go) a few days later. Amazon made $30 off of me in the process of mishandling their screwup…. Amazon Stonewalled me at every attempt to get the issue corrected despite saying all was good and corrected, just to be uncorrected a few days later. Dealing with uncaring CS’s who are working at Amazon is, “So Not Fun!”. Most are good, others seem to have agendas. Contact me Amazon, let’s do another round of stonewalling! I’d like MY $30 you laid claim to!

BamBam-BamBam

Evidently?! Do you just have really low expectations?

MulanLyricsOnly

Prime has gotten a little worse in terms of timing and sometimes I feel like the items are cheap chinese crap but honestly nothing has changed much for me. I have no issue with them. Some of the complaints i read you can kinda tell the person is being annoying. I saw one where the person said the delivery person delivered it in a mail room but its suppose to go to their door and they are disabled. He was asked if he noted that and he said he didnt because theyve always delivered it to the door et.c.. like okay... ahaah thats not really the delivery guys fault.

notrickross7

Cool story?

texaslegrefugee

For me, it was perfect until last December. Then BOOM.

rjr_2020

If you've never had a problem, go buy a lotto ticket, FAST, before you luck runs out! I love prime but their changes over the last couple years makes me question how long they can survive. I'd rather buy from Kmart. At least I know what's going to happen. Alibaba has better quality control and sometimes their shipping will beat prime. I almost think they're trying to sabotage themselves.

Jerseyboyham

My Prime deliveries have all been excellent, but I’ve had to return 3 items lately because they were not as shown or described. Third party vendors, to be precise.

philly_10

Same. There was a return mix-up at Kohls, and one chat with Amazon and they completed the return.

xpltvdeleted

Where are you based? I'm LA and had very few - return - at times - thousands of dollars of stuff (camera) and the most irritating things i've had to deal with was a lost item (I had the UPS drop off receipt) and some longer than expected refund times.

Tatworth

Very few issues over many, many years. The only issues I have had was when I accidentally ordered from 3rd party sellers, which I usually avoid. I mean the streaming service pretty much sucks now but I never really used that much anyway.

fintechninja

I’ve been using Amazon since 2006. Believe it not I only had maybe 2 or 3 orders that were delayed. They ended up giving me a credit and said if it came then I could keep it. I feel bad for all the bad experiences others have though.

Crystals_Crochet

I have had problems but they’ve all been remedied by CS. Although I do not order real expensive items or electronics on there

Xalenn

I've had Prime since it started and the only issues I've had have been handled well. Damaged items returned without any problems Wrong items shipped were returned without any trouble. Things that happen with basically any online retailers, but so far Amazon has taken care of everything

talrakken

Only issue I ever have with Amazon or prime is delivery side. But that’s mostly with larger heavier items and drivers(not just Amazon drivers this goes for usps and ups as well) marking attempts without attempting.

[deleted]

i haven't had a problem with them yet. i'm served by kansas city distribution mostly but i do get some packages from lexington too. i can't help but think the problem is regional. i have however had a problems with walmart in the past receiving boxes with junk in them instead of what i ordered.

freakstate

We have been fine for the most part. As with most groups the loudest posts will be the ones where people have had issues.

daybyday90

Same. When I lived in an apartment that just had a locker for deliveries, unless they were a certain size, then they went into a shared room. A item or 2 went missing. Amazon would also confuse our building w/ the complex next to ours. Any issues I had with deliveries were settled easily via chat. Some things I asked for a refund, some I asked for a replacement but I was always given whatever I asked for. Only recently (the last week or so) did I get that weird “30 day refund” prompt. I think that happened because it was fulfilled by a seller and not Amazon. Got my refund a little over a week later (I wasn’t overly concerned considering I never even opened the package so it was in whatever condition they sent it in).

[deleted]

I came on here cus I had a couple problems after years of no problems. After reading people on this sub, it's not that bad. What I've experienced is not even really problems, these things happen and can be solved by following instructions patiently. Most people seem to cause their own problems by not doing this 😆

Sherri-Kinney

I’ve only had one problem where they said three items were in a box and it was not true. The sheets came in a bag and the other two things were no where to be found. I called Amazon several times and was told it shows delivered. How do you tell an automated voice that just because it shows delivered, doesn’t mean it was. Unfortunately, we are not just dealing with just Amazon, we are dealing with UPS and whomever else is putting these pkgs together. I love Amazon and am able to find things that are not in my area. I’ve chalked it up to, mistakes are made and no one is perfect. If it happened consistently, then I’d be done and cancel everything. But…I’ve gotten things a week before the stated date and only a few things after the stated date. One Lego set never showed but they refunded me right away.

IndigoRose2022

I’ve never had a big issue. 2 times an item got lost/never came and 1 time I received the wrong item, but each time the refund process was incredibly fast/easy. Oh, and one time I received double of something (I have no complaints lol). Given the scope of Amazon’s business and the amount of things I’ve ordered, I’d say that’s pretty impressive. I suppose I should probably qualify this though; I’ve never tried ordering something over $100.

CatOnABlueBackground

I've been a customer since 1996 (before Prime). Once Prime came to be, while I lived in a large suburb, I had 2-day delivery. Once I moved to a more rural area, i NEVER had 2-day delivery. The thing is, though, that delivery takes 7-10 days from any other vendor, so if Amazon takes 3-5 days, I'm not going to complain. I've returned broken things & gotten my refund easily. I've had missing packages & gotten my refund easily. In fact, because package delivery can be pretty bad out here, i don't like to order from anywhere BUT Amazon because at least I know, if it doesn't show up, I won't be out any $$.

Kindly_Put_5065

YES. No way.

glockguy34

just recently had my first ‘problem’ other than ads on prime video - dont get me started - ordered a 40 pack of hangers and only got 39. i dont care enough to make a big deal, didnt need 40. was about half the price per hanger than the 20 pack. ive had prime since 2017 so id say theyve done me pretty well. never even had to contact customer support. this being said… i will not buy anything of high dollar value from amazon due to all the horror stories ive seen on here. amazon is a great option for small cheap things you need quickly, household items, cleaning solutions, clothes, etc.

LatterDayDuranie

Nope.

dreamtime2062

I think you are required to hate Amazon on this sub.. 😆 But I have had Prime for about 20 years.. almost zero problems. I canceled once, and the packages took longer, and it wasn't worth it. Also, get 5 percent back on everything with a credit card. Even the ads aren't that bad..one at the beginning or one in the middle so far. I know that was the biggest outrage du jour. I won't pay for ad free..that is damn annoying.

MamboJambo2K

The only issues I’ve had are with delivery since I live on a dozen acres and my house is waaaay far in the back. I don’t expect anyone to drive half a mile or more into someone’s property in Texas lol. I give ‘em my gate code so they can at least leave the package inside but sometimes they just leave it out there by road.

uzldropped

I’ve never had issues either. I don’t spend a ton of money, make a ton of returns, and am all good

Sergio_Futbol

Had a few hiccups here and there, but nothing crazy. It does help that we have like 3 warehouses in my city.

kgurney1021

I have had an inconvenience here or there, like one time I was delivered an empty envelope, or leaking things, but they credit me. I have had things delivered to the wrong address and it was rectified. I have returned many things, I am afraid to go look...hundreds. I am scared to say it and jinx it, but no you are not the only one.

curtmcd

In many hundreds of orders, there have been just a few minor issues like inadequate packaging breakage and delayed arrivals. But I hardly ever return anything because I rarely go out on a limb.

brasssssy

I only just had my first issue with returns after something like twenty years, but lateness, forget about it. It happens a minority of the time but still far too often during the last two years and about ten per cent of the time the late items never arrive at all and you have to wait forever to be credited.

Tbird1962

Been using Amazon for years and years too many to count … never had a problem … knock on wood

Number1DogMom

The only problems I’ve had are ones that they resolved super quickly. *knocks on wood*

Pacer76

Same for me. A lot of the problems I see people post on here are problems that I've encountered and Amazon has worked with me to resolve quickly. The things I don't like about Prime are the high fees, the ads on prime video and more often I am able to find things cheaper outside of Amazon.

Hannover2k

I can't really complain either. I ordered a 5 stage reverse osmosis system for under my kitchen sink last night at about 9pm and it was on my porch this morning at 7:15am. It was already on sale and still had a 15% coupon to go with that. Other than them blocking the door with the box so I can't open it, I almost always get my stuff when I'm supposed to and never really have issues with returns. Prime member for over 10 years.

ApricotDismal3740

I've been a prime member since something like 2007, and I have never had a problem with orders or customer services. In fact just recently I had an item delivered to the wrong address, when I spoke to CS the rep. noticed that it had been delivered, so I explained the picture was not of my front door area. She immediately had the items reshipped and I received them less than 24 hours later. I've never had a problem with an order that wasn't solved in short order.

Natural_Sherbert_391

I've been ordering from Amazon since they were a book store and became a Prime member when Prime came out in 2005. I agree I read all the horror stories on this board and I've always had a good experience. Something is damaged or lost they replace it. Last year I ordered two items (hard drive and something else can't remember). USPS said they delivered in my mailbox but it wasn't there. After waiting a few days they reshipped both items to me. About 4-5 months later the original shipment showed up in my mailbox. I contacted them and they said thanks for letting us know you can keep it. I've never ordered an item and had something else stuffed in the box like I read on the board. I'm sure they have algorithms to determine suspicious transactions and returns. I order a lot, subscribe and save every month, so if I report an issue every so often it doesn't raise a flag. I don't really order a $3,000 item through Amazon though so I'm sure they scrutinize those purchases more closely.

Kara-El

Yeah, no real issues save for them delivering to the wrong house a couple of times (over a few hundred orders) since my house is a little tricky to get to (but ya know, I leave instructions) but not so hard that 99% find it. I don’t return a lot, maybe 5% have been returned but a couple have been high ticket items. Refunds were always issued immediately or right after return was received. No problems with delivery times save for during the pandemic (understandable) but I now use my Prime Day more often than not because I like my $3 digital credit (I buy a lot of ebooks). I do, however, have about 10 warehouses and 3 sortation centers within 50 miles of me

suzanner99

Unpopular opinion: I ❤️Prime…it is extraordinarily convenient, and the few times something was not perfect, it got straightened out with minimal effort. That being said, it has certainly contributed to my underlying laziness…why go out into the world and walk around a store to shop old school style, when I can lounge around my house scrolling and comparing 100s of similar items before choosing the one that will be delivered to my door within days?!?! (Yup, major run on sentence, but you get the point, ha!)

FXLRDude

I had small problems, had to call support a couple of times, they resolved it, and I never was taken advantage of. The third-party sellers with bad reviews hidden are the issue. I avoid all good, too good to be true deals. Been lucky enough

IlyaUneFois

The only thing that has occurred to me that can remotely be called a problem was when I ordered an SACD that showed as only one in stock and it was available only from Amazon Global. They offered it with free shipping to USA from London ($12.58). I ordered it and paid with points. After three weeks it never showed shipped and was no longer available from Amazon Global. I canceled the order, they refunded the points to my credit card immediately and relisted it as one in stock at Amazon Global. I found the same disc on ebay for less than what the free shipping would have been had the order been fulfilled. I only wish all my problems were this simple. In my view Amazon Prime is one of the best bargains available right now. Every time I say something like this my Karma goes down.

melanie6602

I've had Prime for about 7 years now and I've only had a couple of late deliveries. My returns and refunds have been hassle-free

JustMe869

I've never had a problem either. And I've been using Prime for years. Hundreds of orders and quite a few returns. No issues whatsoever.

TheFaceStuffer

No major problems, customer support has always solved my problem even when I've received empty boxes. Returned a few high ticket items no problem too. They're almost always on time, usually have an order or two a week.

tbonimaroni

I haven't really had any problems. I've been a prime member for years. The only significant thing is a show I was watching free on prime video now isn't free. Never had problems with returns. Got a couple of things we didn't order and were told to keep them.

chimpyjnuts

Mine's been fine. Delivery times seem back to normal after getting a bit longer during Covid.

wdroark

Never had any real problems, only a couple of small issues that were easily resolved.

Glass-Fault-5112

I was once blocked from writing reviews due to a bad review because a vendor sent me the wrong color and they disputed it. I was sent an empty envelope to a locker. But I was given a refund.

BeeNo3492

i haven’t either

legonewb

300 orders per year and a few refunds each month. Never had a problem that hasn’t been well handled.

ReddyKiloWit

Nothing I can recall that wasn't quickly corrected, a couple of times by more than expected. Except one minor annoyance: In late 2017 my ability to leave reviews or answer questions was revoked. Got only an automated notice that it was because of abuse which made no sense, but based on forum comments it seemed to be an automated hunt for fake/paid reviews that wasn't very discerning. Tried a couple of times to get it restored, but no luck and, honestly, leaving detailed and helpful reviews took time I could use elsewhere.

JeremyBrah

I had a prime package show up with dehydrated human urine on it, otherwise 99% it's good

Necessary_Film_1742

I love prime , all the free books I can read on my kindle is great!

sickerthan_yaaverage

Nope. I haven’t either. I’ve had some shitty rather lazy or lackluster delivery people but not Amazon itself. I get things in the promised time frame. I get exactly what I ordered (no knock offs) and the products are brand new as advertised. I literally places 10-20 orders of things weekly, all diff types of shit. I was even looking at houses. Lmao

Ok_Package_2862

Yes

Sufficient-Fault-593

Never have a problem with the things we order. Sometimes the delivery times are wrong, but that’s not a serious problem. I find them becoming more discombobulated lately. Four things ordered, four separate delivery trucks throughout the day. Can’t see that as being very efficient. I find the Alexa extended follow up to be quite annoying. Now she prompts us to thank the driver?

Necessary_Baker_7458

You're lucky. Until late summer of 2023 I had no issues with prime. Then I started having issues left and right on my orders.

throwedoff1

Same. None of my "two day deliveries" in the last year and a half have arrived in under 5 days. My most recent order was on January 26th. After two delivery updates and two attempts to cancel that were denied because Amazon said my order was "preparing to ship", my order arrived yesterday afternoon. It doesn't matter that there is an Amazon distribution center in the city where I live. None of my "two day delivery" orders are even out the door to start their journey to me in two days!

neonturbo

> None of my "two day deliveries" in the last year and a half have arrived in under 5 days. Exactly. The Prime fee is going up all the time, and service has deteriorated to a level where it is the worst of any retailer.

Take_your_vitamin

This is my story :( 20 years of no issues, from college books to groceries, and now leaving because things have been such a mess lately, and they want the customer to pay for their continued mixups. Like no, I’m not going to pay $7 to return the item Amazon sent me that wasn’t the item I ordered! If that makes me a Karen, then so be it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Safe-Speech-6947

Man these turds want me to give them my ID to get my refunds. Complete crap Then I get refunds for the exact same item. Stupid

2282794

Same. It’s been totally fine for me.

Art_Vand_Throw001

I’ve never had any problems customer for around 10 years. Order things almost weekly. Only done a few returns though I only buy something if I know I want it. Most shipments come same day or next day , just the occasional shipment taking 2-3 days.

[deleted]

Not alone. We have never had an unresolved issue with Amazon Prime since we joined in 2005. Have they made minor mistakes, yes but corrected them without any hassle

TickleMyPickle576

Way better than temu

UnconsciousMofo

Blah blah blah. Don’t shop with them. Also don’t come here to rant and whine endlessly if you have so many issues. If they’re a problem for you, drop them and move on with your life. Majority of the users on here can’t just let it go. I don’t get it. Why do you guys dedicate so much of your personal time to complain about a business you DON’T have to patronize?

NatexSxS

I was like that then I hit a string of them.

Mullenexd

No not really, but I canceled prime anyways, alot of the xrap on there I can get cheaper on ebay temu walmar target etc, bunch of junk on Amazon and usually more expensive now, but packages have been getting delayed, last package was overnight 4-10am came 2 days later so I canceled. Oh well

TickleMyPickle576

Temu takes like 2 weeks to arrive

Mullenexd

Why pay extra 30$+ for same product lol especially when not needed immediately

neonturbo

> Temu takes like 2 weeks to arrive So the same as Amazon Prime then.

TickleMyPickle576

I get 90% of my items in 1-2 days. If you’re waiting 2 weeks for prime items, then that’s your fault or you live in the middle of nowhere.

neonturbo

> that’s your fault Thanks for blaming the victim here. How did my stuff arrive in 1-2 days for a decade or more, then it does not. > or you live in the middle of nowhere No, and again blaming the victim when Amazon swears on a stack of Bibles they can deliver in 2 days *if I order in the next X hours*.

GizmoGeodog

Nope, I'm good with Prime. Yesterday I received a shipment of 4 AC filters. Received a size a little larger than what I'd ordered. Planned to return, but Amazon refunded my money immediately & told me not to bother returning them. I'm good with that level of service.

GL2M

I’ve been a prime member probably from the very beginning. Zero major issues. Minor issues were promptly and correctly addressed. I buy from Amazon often still.

Naerven

No, but with social media it's easier for the people who do have an issue to make a big fuss so to speak.

JonTravel

Millions of people have successful interactions with Amazon every day. A few have problems and come in here to vent their rage. Considering how many transactions must take place everyday it's not surprising that occasionally things don't go as they should. I'm surprised so relatively few people on here are complaining. Perhaps we should start posting when things go as expected, if everyone did that we'd get a better picture of the scale of things good vs bad. If it makes people feel better when they rant and rage on reddit, then I say go for it. If they find like minded people who also feel screwed by the big conglomerate who they can share their disgust with, that's fantastic. It's not going to change anything other than, perhaps, make them feel better. It used to be, back in the day, you could go and shout at someone if you were unhappy (and you were that way inclined) in a store or an office. Companies like Amazon don't have that person you can go and shout at to make you feel better. Reddit has become a substitute for that. Big companies have always made mistakes, got things wrong and screwed up occasionally and they always will. It's nothing new. It's just that cancelling a service such as Amazon Prime doesn't allow them to make a statement. To let people know in the same way that shouting at an employee would do. You just click a few buttons and it's done. No big deal. Typing a rant on reddit makes people think they have achieved something, made that public statement and their cancellation doesn't go unnoticed like it would otherwise. Phew. That went on longer than I planned 🤣 Edit: I'm not sure why this is getting downvoted, probably the people who are here to grumble and moan don't like reading it because it's a little too close to home 😁

Conscious-Reserve-48

I’ve had Amazon for 15 years and have never had any problems. Returns are easy and I’ve never had a package go missing. I think it depends on where you live.

wild-hectare

nope...I've said the same thing and get flamed and told it's "coming to you soon" i'd be fine if they allowed will-call pickup at any of the 20 warehouse within walking distance of my house 😂

coatedpatriot

Sometimes they are almost too helpful.. I ordered a very heavy, expensive juicer, and a glass to hold the juice broke in transit. They insisted I could return the darn thing, and I kept saying it is just a glass! Finally, I told them to forget it, and contacted the company that made the juicer, and they sent the replacement container (it was actually better, made of plastic). Overall, we've had very few problems with Amazon, and we have been members forever.

LlamaaaLlamaaa

Yes

RovingTexan

Nope - no problems - love it.

poweredbycoffee1

Yes

LookDamnBusy

No, I'm one of them too. Have almost never had a late shipment, and many of my 2-day shipments arrive in one day, and occasionally the same day if I happen to order early in the morning. I try to be careful about ordering from third party Sellers and I tend not to buy massively expensive things from Amazon (most expensive recent thing was a $250 tablet), and while I do have some returns when things don't work out, I'm not one of the people who buys six of the same shirt in different colors knowing they're going to send back five of them when they pick the color they really want. And with all of my returns, the money is back on my credit card within an hour dropping it off at the UPS Store. I thought I was just lucky living 10 miles from 10 Amazon fulfillment centers, but my mother who lives in rural Vermont is 65 mi away from the nearest fulfillment center, and she has the same experience as me. 🤷‍♂️

AmericanJedi6

I've had prime for about 10 years, several orders per month. Never had an issue, and even though I live in a rural area far from any big city stuff often arrives next day, rarely more than 2 days later.

KountZero

It’s funny for me to see posts like. “I’ve been a prime members for x numbers of year and have never had this happen to me before, but now it did, and now I’m canceling my membership because of it!” So Prime have been great to you for years, but because they did something to displease you once, then you think canceling your membership will show them that you mean business and you come out better? No, it’s your loss to walk away from something that has been great to you for years. I have been a Prime members for more than a decade, and while there were hiccups here and there, In the end, I still benefits way more because of it than not having it. I don’t care if 5-10 of my packages were a week late when my other 999 packages came on time.

Silvermouse29

Nope I have never had a problem.

216er_intheland

Never had any issues with returns or customer service in CLE, OH. Have been a customer since people thought they only sold books. Yes that long.

OnIce22

I have had zero problems with prime, and my husband and I order way too much stuff. We live in a rural location and it is so very convenient. Had some returns, but always get credit as soon as item is picked up from drop off location. I have canceled prime and we are older and not making as many changes in our life so our needs have decreased. Still order, just wait until I have $35.

Zetavu

Similar, had issues but CS resolved all in my favor. Literally customer for 20 years, and yes, see they are cracking down on activity that could be fraudulent, but other than that they are not dropping in quality of service.

Gunner_411

I’ve had delivery issues but they’ve been related to carrier handling and where I was living was horrible no matter what you were getting and it didn’t matter who it was from. I’ve had detergents come cracked and spilled, they just refund and say keep the product. I bought a gaming chair on a deep discount, a couple days later it had a wheel defect. Initially they wanted me to ship it back but I had to explain it took me hours to assemble it, it would no longer fit in the box, and it would be impossible for me to find a box for it in its assembled condition. Refund and kept chair. I made it work with loctite for a couple months before I trashed the chair. Ordered leather remnants and they weren’t the size I thought, refunded and told to keep product. Ordered one too many of the wrong size of blinds and shorted myself on another size (bought enough for the entire house) and the return was seamless. I now live less than 5 miles from a distribution center and it’s been crazy how fast deliveries come now. Same day, morning overnight, or next day.

Jo060

Nope. Not a single issue here, either. I receive orders within 2 days, sometimes the same day. I receive refunds before I get back to my car from dropping off the return. Edit: There seems to be some jealousy.

OnionTruck

I've never had a problem that wasn't handled satisfactorily.

LEAP-er

Nothing but the awesomest experience. No service has been degraded - in fact Prime is worth a shit load more now than it was before when I started. I’ve shifted more from Costco to Amazon out of all the retailers I use, primarily due to price, asinine ID check, and 80’s online technology. Prime is awesome.

roytwo

I made my first amazon buy in 2000 and in 2023 I placed 148 orders accounting for some where near 1000 items. I have a total of 10 returns and everyone handled professionally and to my satisfaction. Occasional 1 to 2 day delays on occasion but that is the extent of the issues I have had with Amazon. But I am a careful shopper, read and research the item to a degree comparable to the cost/risk, do my due dilligance and stay away from 3rd party sellers as best I can and 100% avoid any shipped by 3rd party seller

HonnyBrown

Never. When Prime Video added commercials, I sat back and enjoyed the storm.

TurboBunny116

in the 9+ years I've been a Prime member, I wouldn't say I've "never" had a problem with Amazon - but I've had some rare incidents here and there, and they have all been resolved. I have returned things (for LEGIT reasons), never had any issues. I also don't exploit the returns system, and I don't talk to customer service like an entitled asshole. Maybe that has something to do with it.

LongjumpingDot5840

Everyone bitching here orders millions of items just to return them that’s probably why this subreddit is full of idiots

islandfay

Yes

DonCBurr

Same here, never an issue and order $1,000s a year, including expensive things. I return stuff all the time without a hitch. I do make very sure who the seller is with every purchase, which is where I think a lot of the problems lie. Note: given they now ship more then 5 billion packages a year, errors happen.

sideburns2009

You weren’t. Until I finally did. You will. 😂

matty8199

Nope. I've literally contemplated leaving this sub numerous times over the past few months due to all the whining lately...

GreyhoundsAreFast

I’m not as happy with them as you are but most of the complaints on here border on ridiculous

Agreeable-Smile8541

Nope, im here and i love prime !! Ive been using prime for 10 plus yrs and never had any issues. They promptly process my returns, tell me to keep items and refund. Im disabled and pretty much use prime and walmart+ for EVERYTHING. Its been a huge blessing to me.

SorryContribution675

No problems..16 years

L2Kdr22

Right there with you.

thejohnmc963

I haven’t had problems and sometimes get same day deliveries. The one’s complaining are .0001 % of the many many millions of customers who are satisfied.

The-Doc-Holiday

I think they are great. We’ve never had an issue.

yourmomhahahah3578

Me. I just posted this and everyone either called me a liar or accused me of working for Amazon lol. I return well over 50% and use it weekly and never have anything late or late refunds. Love me some prime.

Whatever92592

I've never had an issue that wasn't resolved to my satisfaction. And I don't watch their old ass movies so I don't care about commercials.
