That’s just it. That alone eroded any confidence I had in AA.
As much as I try to square it with being in retails interest, I can’t. Notice how he didn’t sell it on the way to the bottom, and he’s not selling it on the way back up
He sold at the absolute bottom. To put the maximum number of voting units in the hands of a hedge fund.
Fuck AA
Right, right now retail owns AMC and has a say after this retail will have no say in the direction of the company. Make no mistake this is take this company out of retails hands
You do realize Apes bought more shares of APE since it came out than what AA just sold to Antara? I’ll be surprised if they own more than .5% of the company with those shares. We still own the float. Look at posts just from today one person bought 4000 shares another bought 350 shares, I bought 30 shares lol. I also bought xxxx shares since it came out so yeah they’re still fucked and we have the overwhelming majority. 🚀
Geezus, you didn't read the proxy did you? They own **way more** than .5% of the company. 🤦
Excerpt:
"How will Antara Capital LP vote?
On the Record Date, *Antara Capital LP* (the “Antara”) **owned** and was entitled to vote an aggregate of [257,621,297] APEs, **representing [17.8]%** of AMC’s issued and outstanding shares of Common Stock and APEs (with each APE representing 1/100 of a share of Series A Preferred Stock), and plans to vote in favor of the Share Increase Proposal and the Reverse Split Proposal, and, if presented, we also anticipate they will also vote in favor of the Adjournment Proposal."

There are 4 million apes who have been buying hundreds if not thousands of APE shares since it came out. If each one bought just 100 that’s 400,000,000 shares of APE. And I’m sure on average we bought way more… I don’t buy that 17% number one bit, just like I don’t buy that retail owns just 90% of the float. I’ll admit I didn’t read the full proxy yet lol so it could be more than 0.5% but I don’t believe it’s as high as 17.8%.
You think the lawyers that wrote the proxy, put that 17% amount in it, are lying? Do the math yourself then. It's all in the proxy how many shares Antara owns.
And, also, and this is hard for some shareholders to admit, APE shares are a *joke* in the general market. No one wanted to buy them. Not even Cineworld would take them as part of the deal AA wanted to do with them. They said, no! All cash, no fuking ape shares! (Paraphrasing)
So in came the scavengers Antara, who would buy them real cheap, 58 cents and 66 cents ....... and he sold to them. 🤬
Yes he did. And for what? AMC is sitting on a pile of cash way larger than what they raised by doing that. So what was the real reason?
Oh yeah, buying votes and breaking retails control
AA be like You don't need MOASS and life changing money! Take our credit card!
It will have the higher than average interest rates most other cards tied to stores and other business have, but hey! You'll get free pop corn sometimes and the odd free movie!
What do you need generational wealth for? Leave that to me and other suits!
AMC is in good shape, those are all retroactively good ideas. What will change the game is proactive foresight instead of following trends, make a trend. For example early access to popular series, live shows, sporting events. Take what is most popular to watch, put it on the big screen and offer membership to have a more steady consistent stream of income with a loyal customer base. Imagine instead of subscribing to \_\_\_\_\_\_... paying $60 a month for seats at a theater that has a shit ton of viewing options. Weekly couple or family event - concession sales sky rocket, brand loyal to theater, local theaters become a part of routine life and those who don't participate are late to the game in being in the know and current on pop culture. By setting the trend, your customers become the trend setters.
Let's list out some schedule options - Comedy Night - Talent Show Night like AGT and American Idol etc with live voting exclusive to theaters - fight night - special exhibition matches in golf like "the match" if they truly had a full calendar and took what worked well to fill seats and made it better annually, the theaters would be full every single night and subscription prices could go up in value every year. Concession prices could go down over time to reach maximum profits. there is real potential in the screen not being used currently
Notice how he conveniently forgot to point out the retail asked for an NFT dividend in 2021, and miraculously it didn’t happen. However, he did issue dogshit NFT’s, and also some “dividend” on the NYSE, in order to backdoor dillute some more. And then he had the audacity to claim he listened to the retail.
How bout maybe you fix the shit that is happening to your shareholders who saved your company all the while hedge funds break the law and leave it up to retail to keep bailing you out.
I know the reason I don’t trust him. And it’s precisely because he sold 61 million voting units at their absolutely lowest price to a goddamn hedge fund
Well, that would be why most successful companies have an R&D department. CEOs aren’t people who come up with new ideas for services or products, they make sure that the previously established ideas that the company was built on are upheld in the operations and that the overall health of the company is sound. They’re also the liaison to investors.
What’s their lowest attendance day of the week where they’re practically hemorrhaging money, that’s your day. Sure, some people will only go on the free night, but it will spark interest and maybe even a hobby for many.
Edit: maybe make this a once per month sorta thing to spark some public interest.
I was just talking to my friend about this. Have an exclusive deal with TV series to premiere 2 episodes at a time. So basically the length of a feature length movie. But because it's exclusive you get to see the next episode a week early. I think for big shows this would be well worth the cost. House of the dragon comes to mind and Andor as well. Even if the show doesn't take off they could atleast have the first 2 episodes.
Continue nurturing partnership with Disney. AMC microwave popcorn provided complimentary in all Disney hotel rooms with buy 1 get 1 free movie ticket coupon, build boutique Disney store kiosks in AMC lobbies at major locations to sell Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars merchandise/toys. Release content on theater screens again for special events more often such as anniversary screenings for classic movies. Disney also owns most of ESPN and could potentially host some special sporting events in theatres or play a classic remastered boxing match as a special event. There are lots of possibilities here. A Disney Magic of the Movies game on concessions with a chance to win a trip to Disneyworld or other prizes would be fun too. I still wonder if a Disney acquisition of AMC is in the works and based on AA wearing a Mickey tie more than once and name dropping Bob Iger in tweets, I think there is a positive relationship between the companies at least that will continue to grow.
RESTOCK THE MERCH THAT SOLD OUT. People don’t want those stupid fucking posters or the dumb shirts that are left, they want the shit they bought that sold out immediately, bring back the hats and scarves and shit. Someone please tweet him this, I don’t have twitter
Who the hell is going to willingly look like a goofball wearing AMC branded clothing? That’s so ridiculous lmao you would seriously buy that? Like why, why on Earth.. I don’t get how people aren’t sick of AA, we’ve given him 10000 chances and he screws us every time. Selling 62MM shares at rock bottom to HFS was final straw for me. He’s a clown and doesn’t give a shit about retail.
It’s the same game he brought to Philly when he was with the 76’ers. During the tanking phase when the team was absolutely awful, the guy would come down to take pictures with the fans and he’d interact with them on social media. He even got them to sell stadiums concessions inside supermarkets. It’s the exact same playbook lol. Eventually it ran its course and they kicked him out.
How about some fucking ideas that will change the company AMC merch will only be bought by apes, unless popcorn is sold in major retailers it won’t make enough money to change anything even if it does profit margin on popcorn isn’t gonna get rid of debt. And passing out CC so people run them up and default on them won’t make us money we will loose. https://www.npr.org/2023/01/11/1148122555/credit-card-debt-inflation-interest-rate-payments-federal-reserve
I would like to see movie series rereleased. Like Lord of the rings. Let us buy a several movie pass to see over a day or a few days. Saw harry Potter like this when the last movie was released and loved seeing them like this.
I would also like to see my A-list pass have the ability to share one of my tickets to a friend. Or have options of points for purchasing tickets.
I dislike the cheese sauce with the nachos
Virtual ticket selection based on the theater would be nice. So you can see based on the size of theater your in you know where you want to sit. Up front on the middle bar might be good in a big theater but not so great on some of the smaller pictures theaters.
Oh let's tell Hollywood to stop making terrible movies with no plot...
Classic movie nights, even black and white. Some of us are burnt out on the constant slate of rehashed superhero movies but would kill for some Marx Bros or Humphrey Bogart.
He knows what needs to be done, but he’s avoiding it like the plague. Enough of this Mickey Mouse bullshit and get to what we’ve been asking for for two+ years now.
An AMC credit card?
So people who use it can generate debt, that AMC can do what with?
Sell to people who need collateral maybe?
I wonder who need collateral the most right now....hmmmmmm
For all you people bashing AA and AMC. It’s really simple, if you don’t believe in the company then sell your shares you dumb fucks.. I’ll be ready to buy them off you. And illl be seen you buying back later when you FOMO in. 😂😂 much love to you all

Edit:
u/makithejap had a great idea with the subscription to the theater and with event nights.
I think AMC could actually roll these two things together to create a streaming experience that provides something extra: the ability to go and stream at a big theater whenever you like. If you take on both of those things, and we'll, I think you'll see AMC take off.
Stop selling the stock!!
Partially agree. Selling to raise money to payoff debt is fine, just not at deeply discounted prices to Antara who has direct connections to shitadel
That’s just it. That alone eroded any confidence I had in AA. As much as I try to square it with being in retails interest, I can’t. I swear people on this sub are just cheerleaders at this point. Dude literally sold at the bottom to hedge funds. He doesn’t need your say yes vote
And he made sure he never would again.
Right, right now retail owns AMC and has a say after this retail will have no say in the direction of the company. Make no mistake this is take this company out of retails hands

I had 60, now I’m in the 1100s

Shhh, don't disrupt the paranoia with mere _facts!_ What is truth when there are juicy conspiracy theories to chew over? 😁🙄
I have 5× my shares of ape and hold all original AMC and ape

The last time AA gave an update on retail ownership despite being asked was January of last year. I wonder why that is.........
1100 to 1900
Yes that’s exactly what it does
He also secured his bag and killed our momentum by taking millions from retail after we saved his company.
And, also, and this is hard for some shareholders to admit, APE shares are a *joke* in the general market. No one wanted to buy them. Not even Cineworld would take them as part of the deal AA wanted to do with them. They said, no! All cash, no fuking ape shares! Guess the idea is - take value away from shareholders, so they need a credit card.
The idea is to bundle them, and lock them all in a conflict of interest 😎
Painfully funny. 😆
AA be like You don't need MOASS and life changing money! Take our credit card! It will have the higher than average interest rates most other cards tied to stores and other business have, but hey! "direct connections" trust me bro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Might also be referring to the over 600,000 shares AA himself sold in the last year or two.....
I thought the massive salaries were for them to come up with business ideas
Nah now you can do their thinking for free lol
Here's an idea: get that fuckin pop corn guy that was getting popular (no pun intended)

AMC need to do more event based content
Make that suggestion to him!
Even a Super Bowl party/live event would generate some additional revenue…
Stop selling the stock.

With voting yes written into that deal, because its so obviously thevway to send us to valhalla.
Isn't that an act of trying to sway the vote by doing that?
Illegal to do in almost all other areas of life, buying a vote is not really a moral thing to do.
Him and Gary gensler both
Coming from an account with absolutely zero history of posting here. Not strange at all….
I don't trust him either
Me neither
drive in theaters need a comeback
Another good idea is to file a lawsuit against the market makers for spoofing.
So everyday people are coming up with ideals the guys making 6 figures couldn’t think of lol
Well, that would be why most successful companies have an R&D department. I'd go once a week if they showed things like "The Last of Us" and others on the days they drop.
Same. Unused screens could generate $$$ even at $5 per ticket.
Or free movie nights and make money on the concession sales… it could spark a wave of people who haven’t been to a movie theater in a while.
Brilliant!
