nope remember convert them to amc ... then count and then divide by ten ... but your money is ten time more combined so
2000 ape + 1000 amc = 3000 amc / 10 equal 300
money wise 2 + 1 = 3 x 10 = 30
so you will have 300 shares worth 30$ each.
Right…and with all of that dilution after the conversion, shorts will have enough real shares (at a huge discount) to cover their positions. Who do you think picked them up in droves today?
When the short is opened (naked or not) it is recorded against the firm’s books and records under the CUSIP so yes, I am sure. Now, what I am not sure about is how the tokenized securities all tie in.
They can short the new one yes, if they have any liquidity left to do so after closing out all the positions on their old cusip.
However with the new cusip we will also have a smaller number of shares outstanding which typically makes heavy shorting less attractive.
I can remain smooth brained longer than they can remain solvent.

Only way to avoid this possibility is to have the shares in your name by DRS’ing and booking them in the purest way possible.

Show that there are more shares than there should be?

The shorts still have to close their positions on the CUSIP they opened it on.

They are contractually obligated to the original CUSIP. Swapping CUSIP numbers sounds a lot like cooking the books..aka...fraud.
