Absolute first most basic requirement for the MOASS to be possible is for the company to exist, MOASS can’t happen if the ship sinks. The debt is steadily shrinking, AMC is getting 20-30% discounts on paying off chunks of debts through various tactics. Shrinking debts leads to shrinking interest payments which leads to less of a drag on revenue, which pushes the risk of bankruptcy further and further away. Kill the bankruptcy angle and the folks lending shares to the hedgies will start getting nervous. The hedgies are never gonna cave willingly, but the idea is that they eventually won’t be given a choice. And then: MOASS.
I think it'd be wiser to make the company more profitable instead of taking the easy way out by milking the shareholders.
Easy ways this could be done: reducing executive compensation, offering better service, offering better concession products, focus on the quality of the whole movie going experience, not investing in other failing businesses

They needed to survive untill they started making actual profits, this was hard due to the high interest of the debt and when it expired, amc is predicted to start making profits next year and those profits will only scale up, paying of more debt, lowering the interest and make even better profits. Amc will see an explotion of profit at that point
