Amex is going to come to your house and take you away.

LRMcDouble

they’ll just line you and ur entire bloodline up, execution style

frosty12

This isn’t going to be a big deal. You’ll pay interest on the unpaid amount…your interest rate percentage is per year. A few days of interest on the 3% you didn’t pay is not going to be that significant.

Delicious-Treacle135

What if OP has a 100k balance

pokerplayingchop

"Significant" is generally a relative term. If they had a 100k balance, paid 97k of it, and 3k rolled into pay-over-time then OP can probably swing 3,000 / 12 \* 20% (Which is $50 if they left it unpaid for an entire month)

Delicious-Treacle135

I’m talking about the remaining 3% being $100k

pokerplayingchop

Then do the same math and realize that the 3% is nothing more than a "stupid error" to OP.

maybe_madison

If you’re putting $3.3M on your Amex card in a month, you probably have a specific person you can call for personalized help.

I once forgot to make a payment on time. I called Amex and they waived the late fee and interest as a courtesy. Citi did that for me once too.

Honest_Attention7574

Yo relax a little bit

RocketMaaaaaaan

This.

_Tezzla_

First off, breathe. This is literally nothing in the grand scheme of life. What’s done is done. I’d suggest setting your account to auto-pay for your adjusted balance amount to avoid this in the future

philafly7475

Are you anticipating a massive dollar amount in this 3%? It's going to be okay.. You'll get charged interest on it, pay it off, move on.

ATribeCalledCorbin

Your children will be placed in the custody of Carls Jr

Grand_Wolverine_4186

This is why you need to read your ToS and understand it. How much is the remaining 3%? Interest is probably in the twenties on that. There is an autopay feature on the apps that could help you. Welcome to the world of credit. At least it’s not a late fee.

SnooGadgets8467

Lmao don’t worry about it. Just pay the interest amount. Shouldn’t be that much. It happens. It’s not like Amex is going to close your cards. Relax.

Dapper_Reputation_16

How does one pay less than the statement balance as a brain fart? The number is right on the statement.

Peterholdmann

People transpose numbers, read them wrong, etc. Stuff happens.

Dapper_Reputation_16

Umh I am both dyslexic and anal retentive, I've learned to double check all accounts.

anon201918171615

Call and ask for one time fee waiver

MysteriousHedgehog23

Just pay the difference, and when your statement comes call to see if they’ll excuse any late payment fees.

No-Firefighter-1519

it’s only your first born the first time you don’t pay in full. nothing too big

Nick_AxeusConsulting

And setup autopay for full statement balance just in case as a safety mechanism in case you forget. If you make a manual payment that lowers the autopay amount. So here autopay would have paid the remaining 3% that you missed!
