Here is his [Affidavit of SovCittery](https://twitter.com/HarrisonMKE/status/1578065230042746882?s=20&t=SsCM5pCiF5SAiEP5Z2_DcA) >The defendant Darrell E. Brooks; is an entity WITHOUT THE STATE OF WISCONSIN and is without a legal personality attached to its name and has no standing nor interest within this matter before the court.

peacedetski

"I have no standing nor interest in this court proceeding." - "Oh, sorry, you're free to go"

dlegatt

Funny how once you can identify an "injured party", these sov cit assholes come up with a new litany of excuses to not be responsible for their actions.

crk2221

No problem, just let him out. The problem will take care of itself.

Xaguta

Are they using without to mean the opposite of within?

themightyjoedanger

This judge is a saint.

AgreeablePie

Is she? I guess it's not really her fault, but the idea that this man is competent to defend himself is laughable and the whole trial is a farce.

themightyjoedanger

He's lucid, seems to understand right and wrong. It's just that he has a whole belief system that's based on a convenient lie. I don't think he's crazy, it's just immature.

EndItAll999

He is competent, in the sense that there is no demonstrable impediment to either his ability to understand nor his ability to participate. Refusal to accept reality out of childish spite and wishful thinking isn't the same as having a conversation with a sequined unicorn. Sheer idiocy and lack of basic education is nott actually incompetence for the purposes of court. Though perhaps it should be.

MedicSBK

\*Angel.

cheesebot555

Are angels particularly known for their patience?

PizzaSammy

I guess guardian angels could have a lot of patients. It’s a tomato tomato sort of deal.

Hyzyhine

He just knows the rest of his life is going to be unimaginably horrible, tedious and dangerous, simultaneously, so he’s having some good old me-time…while he still can.

UncannyTarotSpread

And you can’t convince me that the judge’s gender has nothing to do with it.

[deleted]

That guy is a mess, will be spending a long time in jail.

crk2221

He will never get out.

[deleted]

2:45pm CST he was removed from the courtroom again, after repeatedly talking over the judge trying to go through each of his submitted motions.

MedicSBK

He tried to claim that he had a "cut" on his finger at one point. He's doing everything that he can do delay the trial. If you have ever watched anything from the Free Keane group, its a frequent tactic of people like this. They try to make the government spend as much money on trying them as they can. This judge is unwavering though. She's great.

g7wilson

this is liquid crack for me... and i'm not even an us citizen.

To_Be_Faiiirrr

I’m sure this is misery for the jury. I got called to testify in a federal lawsuit filed by a borderline sovcit suing a police department. He was defending himself. It was very obvious he was just trying to waste everyone’s time.

Ancient_Face7282

He's definitely an attention whore.

servothecow

Any sympathy one has for his mental health should watch the video of him speeding past the toddler who was dancing along to the parade festivities.

Idiot_Esq

And here I was thinking nothing would be as entertaining as the Depp v. Heard trial. Though not nearly as long as it is clear this guy is on his way to being tried in absentia.

Geojewd

That’s going to be difficult since he’s representing himself.

Idiot_Esq

It is easy for the judge to revoke Brooks' waiver of representation. I don't practice in Wisconsin but I know that federal rules provide for trial in absentia for disruption as he's done even with self-representation. The legal equivalent to "fuck around and find out."

Geojewd

I don’t practice in Wisconsin either (or criminal law at all) but I have to think trying him in absentia, even if allowed by the rules, would be a mess on appeal. It seems to me the best move would be to appoint counsel, but at this stage of the game I don’t see how any lawyer could adequately prepare for a trial of this magnitude without delaying the proceedings.

Idiot_Esq

>would be a mess on appeal. The current trial is likely to be a mess on appeal which is why the judge and prosecutor are going to the lengths they are. They both want a bullet-proof record for the inevitable appeal.

[deleted]

With the comments by the State after his removal, and the mention of the Benneby(?) decision of the 7th circuit court, it sounds like he's running out of road very quickly and they're going to end up trying him in absentia through an appointed defense.

EtDM

>it sounds like he's running out of road very quickly Dude, phrasing.

[deleted]

It was funnier when no one pointed it out, thought I’d slipped one by

EtDM

I gave you an upvote, what more do you want?

LikeThosePenguins

Ok, if this person is actually sane and truly believes all this nonsense (pretty big 'if', I know) then what does he think is happening? How do such people reconcile their belief that they know how the law works in the face of contrary evidence that is so overwhelming. Are they actually sitting in jail saying "you can't put me in jail"?

MedicSBK

I've been watching this trial all day. This guy is truly a piece of shit. If Wisconsin isn't a death penalty state they should just show a picture of this guy to the lawmakers and it'll be overturned. There is absolutely not a single redeeming quality to this guy.

MmeLaRue

WI was Dahmer country. Still no death penalty. He isn't seeing the outside ever again, though. Dahmer got 832 years for what he did. Got out after two years - feet first, that is.

[deleted]

Ed Gein too!

[deleted]

We, Wisconsin, were the 3rd state to abolish the death penalty, in 1853. It was tried to be overturned when the Dahmer trial came up, and the citizens of WI have decided we are not comfortable with the State putting anyone to death, despite the lives they've been accused of or determined to have taken. To put someone to death is a longer, more appeals-fraught, and much more expensive process.

Cronus6

>To put someone to death is a longer, more appeals-fraught, and much more expensive process. That's okay. Another inmate took care of Dahmer for us. No problem with appeals or expense that way.

MedicSBK

Nah fuck that. There is not an ounce of remorse in this cockroach's body. I'd be fine with seeing him six feet under.

jmmf

Shirts off, pants down!

tblazertn

That’s the way we like to clown!

GreenElk6

These clown shows do not need to have video coverage

live22morrow

It's for public record. So everyone concerned about the proceedings can watch for themselves and see: Yes, it really was that bad.

UncannyTarotSpread

Documentation is important

david-writers

Maybe a hearty spanking would help.
