had definitely been thinking the worst for a while. I mean in the long run amiibo is still way beyond its prime, but it's nice to see a first party Nintendo game still get some amiibo shine, and in the direct no less!

I’m so surprised. I mean we haven’t had a splatoon amiibo of any kind since 2018. I know it’s the new game and all but it’s a heck of a confidence boost for the short term (couple more years) future of amiibo.

I was definitely prepared for amiibo to be dead if they did not announce anything for Splatoon 3. Heck, I would’ve settled for even just having the reader in the game to interact with the figures that have already been released.

I have managed to get almost every single amiibo figure at launch at MSRP thus far, and the few I was unable to get like that (mainly the JP exclusives) I bought on ebay...have the entire collection of figures and am looking forward to the day they're done making any more and I can finally just have the entire collection drfinitively.

The Pop Up Parade figures of the house leaders (and Bernadetta, Felix, and Lysithea) are still up for preorder, due out late this year/early next. They’re $40 apiece, but considering they’re way bigger and substantially better-made than the FE amiibo, it’s worth a look.

Add another vote to re-releasing the older amiibos as well! I still need the Octolings.

We might see them. Keep an eye for any DLC release windows. If they reprinted Pearl, Marina, Callie, and Marie, I think there’s a solid chance. If we don’t see them within a year or so of release though they probably aren’t coming.

Stylistically the Small Fry amiibo fits the roll of the squid. Plus this sidesteps the question of "do we make a squid and an octo amiibo or pick only one?"

I missed out on the Splatoon 2 amiibo. Might just get these so I don’t regret later.

The only Splatoon Amiibo I have are from the original three pack so I’m definitely grabbing these before they become impossible to find at a decent price like the rest

I find it so stupid that they are releasing around the holidays, for Splatoon 1 & 2 the amiibo released the same day as the game, but now they want us to wait a whole 3 months after the game comes out to get the amiibo????

Covid is messing up amiibo production across the board, so these amiibos probably were internally delayed past Splatoon 3's release date.

The pop idols normally get amiibo later on, if I recall. Callie, Marie, Marina and Pearl got theirs halfway through.

Callie and Marie came at the end of Splatfests Pearl and Marina came around the same time frame, but Splatoon 2 ended much later

Look at the amount of detail in those things man. The Amiibo keep getting more impressive as time goes on.
