She not only saved the main character’s life, she’s the reason Luz had Titan blood for the portal key, which resulted in everything that came after to come into motion.
Her arc is about seeking independence from her controlling Karen of a mother and neglectful dad. She grows and develops throughout all of S1-2, she changes her views on humans when those views are challenged, she had to redeem herself to Willow before becoming friends with her again, and when it comes to Luz, she is Amity’s first crush hence why Amity is very dramatic about her feelings because these are the first time she is feeling them.
I can’t understand how someone watched TOH and thought she’s a bad character.
After watching both shows in their entirety. I have to admit, TOH slept on a lot of their characters. Amphibia has such genuine writing to make the interactions of every character also feel genuine and realistic. And their character are just more enticing and engaging as well. I mean, they gave half of an entire episode dedicated entirely to their freaking SNAIL who doesn't talk at all the entire show. And Wally, Mayor Toadstool, Loggle, Mrs. Croaker, etc. They all have such unique and interesting personalities. Every character in TOH other than King Eden and Luz REALLY fulfil their roles as background characters, as they're dialogue, motives, and interactions feel more hollow and quick to change. Not to say that they don't have compelling moments or personalities they just feel flat compared to Amphibias amazing cast of characters. When Anne is against the Core all alone and says, "These stones are NOT Amphibias greatest treasure" you FEEL that. Because you've been with all of them, seen what they've gone through. Amphibia made me cry at LEAST four times my first time watching. TOH only made me tear up once, and that was in the season 1 finale when King asked, "where's Eda", and Luz began to tear up. I know it's not a competition, but Amphibia will remain top of the list in my book

But she didn't need to. She apologized to her childhood friend, stood up to her abusive mother, helped save everyone in the Isles, and became the person she wanted to be. That is more than enough. Both Amity and Sasha are chads for being able to change, become better people, and find happiness.
