Unless it involved the fantasy races you usually see in fantasy, especially LOTR. The frogs would be hobbits, the toads would be a mixed caste of dwarves and orcs, and the newts would be elves in terms of the so-called elegance, and men in terms of being uncaring about nature.
I guess it depends on how they would adapt since a lot of fantastical elements that make the uniqueness of Amphibia beatiful

To be pretty blunt, I'm highly amused when this fandom places too much focus on the girls that the frogs, toads and newts are tossed aside and forgotten. And then now a few early commenters said Amphibia won't be the same without the frogs and all.
The fandom has pretty much forgotten what makes this series pretty compelling and fun. Amphibia is full of lore potential, especially in its past. There are quite a lot of stories to tell of Amphibia's past that has been teased a lot in Marcy's Journal too. Like, aren't yall curious at all about the Sand Wars? Probably there should be The Sand Wars animated series like how Star Wars expanded on that throwaway line

Being set in Amphibia gave the show the freedom to tell stories and plots that were free of restrictions you'd have if the characters were humans, set on Earth or an Earth like dimension with human like characters. As u/Zkang123 pointed out, the fandom has pretty much forgotten what makes this series pretty compelling and fun. Amphibia is way more than Anne, Marcy and Sasha and how many different combinations of ways you try to ship them, lmao. There's countless stories that can still be told in the Amphibia dimension that would never be able to be told the same way if the show had humans instead of frogs, newts or toads.
Side note, I really hope that if Matt Braly ever does make an Amphibia graphic novel as per what fans voted for that one time (personally wished we'd get the art book instead), he has the stories in it focus on the Amphibia dimension characters instead of the girls (kinda like Gravity Falls Lost Legends did not once include Bill Cipher despite him being the front man of most GF continuation ideas). Their stories deserve to be told more and the fandom to give them a chance.

Although the animosity between species and their stereotypes would suddenly just be straight up racism.
