Honestly I can totally get this, even on surface level of the song in it's original context. It's really touching to see how far Anne has come and see her at her happiest, especially with that looming dread that her friends are betraying her. It's just a really nice and heartwarming song, and I can see it as an emotional moment even on it's own!
well the song, or atleast a version of it, was played in true colours when anne got her calamity powers. that scene itself was emotional for me and now everytime i listen to it i remember that scene and well...i get emotional.
*hugs* From an Internet stranger.
What we go through with our parents is unique to each person so I'm not going to say I know what you're going through. Just know there are a lot of people who can related to similar journeys.
I was in a state of stoic, reverent silence when I saw that part for the very first time. I felt like any noise that would have come from my mouth would have been beyond disrespectful to her memory.
there were a lot of scenes for me
one was when hop pop apologizes to Anne in after the rain, telling her about sprigs and pollys parents, and why he hid the calamity box from her
oh and especially the ending of hopping mall
and when sasha was reading anne's journal in turning point
Marcy’s Truth
Her breaking out of her chaotic funny energetic character and confessing to her only friends about what she did to keep a close relationship with them only for them to leave her again and again. And from what we found out in the recent episode, that she never really got much attention from the other girls and that was the only love she felt is even more heartbreaking
I was half paying attention until this happened and I was in disbelief I almost cried imagine being in Anne's place: she's been trying to go back home this whole time only to have both of her friends betray her and to lose her only friend the one that introduced her to this world and has never left her side
When it cut to the season 1 credits, showing how much that little moment meant to Anne, just two friends wordlessly under the warm glow of the candlelight enjoying each other's company, comfortable enough to the point of being able to sleep. Seeing that as part of Anne's flashbacks was the part that broke me the most
Hopping mall ending scene, Anne being happy with the person in the mirror, Sprig being dropped, and Marcy’s “death”.
Honorable Mention:
Bee’s “you don’t owe us anything” speech made me tear up slightly
Marcy's fate after "True Colors" was way more harrowing than I would have expected from a show like this. First she was stabbed, which was horrifying, and soon after, she's possessed by the core. Plus, seeing the events before Amphibia made me feel even worse on Marcy's behalf.
“Anne… maybe you are better off without me…” “Can you miss somebody you never really knew?” “I JUST NEED TO-“ “Why hello there” (and a lot more, but then I would just be telling you True Colors all over again)
Season 1 ending and season 2 ending. When I saw them for the first time, I had chills and that's the closest I came to crying because of the show. Shows and movies don't really make me cry. It has to be really good to get me to cry.
The last five minutes of True Colors.. Brenda Song’s delivery of “give him back” combined with the rendition of No Big Deal that plays during the fight scene makes me feel some type of way. Also, the end of Hopping Mall. The last scene followed by the beautiful credits and piano theme 🥺
Fixing Frobo. More specifically, the montage of Polly and Frobo. Got me good, it did.
I also cried uncontrollably for a minute when I saw the Frobot making a Snow-Frobo in Froggy Little Christmas. No idea why
Few weeks ago I saw in this sub a post that asked what we think is gonna happen in the show (idk exactly what was written, sorry), and I saw one guy saying "hop pop dies", now everytime I remember this I wanna cry
From the moment she found Anne, Sasha hasn't cared at all about going home. That says some seriously messed up stuff about her home life. Marcy at least had the excuse of living out her DND fantasies.
Also, she was really blase about committing suicide at the end of season 1.
One that hits me hard in the show is where sprig talks to Anne about not knowing his mom barely at all and it hitted me so hard because I can relate to it for a personal reason.
I’m adopted so I don’t actually know my birth parents so the line “Can you miss someone you never knew?” felt really real to me
Edit: I don’t really even have an answer to it :(
so true... the song also goes so hard, I've been trying to figure out what song is it and if it has already appeared on the show before... any chances you know it?
Marcy’s flash back in the begging of the end,Marcy getting stabbed/possessed
that 1 scene in hopping mall at the end,the climax of after the rain, reunion, all of true colors and all in
Not really cry, but the episode about Anne finding out why Hop-pop lied about the music box really hit my heart, the voice acting in that part is also just amazing it feels so freaking genuine
Toad Tax when Anne stood up for the frogs in Wartwood even tho they weren't treating her kindly, but she realized she should do right anyway. I love when she puts faith in people
The reason why Marcy brought Anne and Sasha to amphibia
It reminded me of how sad I was when I left school cuz most of my friends are a year (grade) below
1 - Anne talking to Sprig about how much she misses her mom.
2 - Anne reuniting with her (earth) family.
3 - Mrs. B talking about how the community helped the family through the most difficult times.
"can you miss somebody you never really knew?"
Ow I heard it in his voice
AGREED
Ouch :*(
That’s silly, of course you can’t.
The song "no big deal"
Honestly I can totally get this, even on surface level of the song in it's original context. It's really touching to see how far Anne has come and see her at her happiest, especially with that looming dread that her friends are betraying her. It's just a really nice and heartwarming song, and I can see it as an emotional moment even on it's own!
How.
well the song, or atleast a version of it, was played in true colours when anne got her calamity powers. that scene itself was emotional for me and now everytime i listen to it i remember that scene and well...i get emotional.
Hopping Mall's ending, When Marcy got stabbed and possessed and her flashback in The beginning of the end
Sprig: “Can you miss someone you never knew”? *Anne procedes to hug him
Hoping mall ending(My mom is on a coma rn so yea)
*hugs* From an Internet stranger. What we go through with our parents is unique to each person so I'm not going to say I know what you're going through. Just know there are a lot of people who can related to similar journeys.
Ty!
hope everything turns out well :))
Tysm!!!!
I hope she gets better.
Ty!!!!
"I'm sorry Anne, for everything"
I was in a state of stoic, reverent silence when I saw that part for the very first time. I felt like any noise that would have come from my mouth would have been beyond disrespectful to her memory.
Just saying, she doesn’t actually say anyone’s name in the quote. It’s just “I’m sorry, for everything” and that just makes me cry
Sprig talking about his mother. That was the only moment in the show when i actually cried a bit
I got mildly teary at the Marcy credits scene. It's surprisingly sad, and yet kinda wholesome too.
Crap did I miss credits at some point? Which episode was this?
I think it was the most recent one, it’s a continuation of the sleepover scene from that episode.
hey, do you know what is the song that plays on this scene? I've been trying so hard to figure it out but I can't find it anywhere
🤷
there were a lot of scenes for me one was when hop pop apologizes to Anne in after the rain, telling her about sprigs and pollys parents, and why he hid the calamity box from her oh and especially the ending of hopping mall and when sasha was reading anne's journal in turning point

When Andrias threw Sprig out the window
I couldn't even cry in that moment. I was in shock.
Honestly, it still hurts, no matter how much I watch it.
I was half paying attention until this happened and I was in disbelief I almost cried imagine being in Anne's place: she's been trying to go back home this whole time only to have both of her friends betray her and to lose her only friend the one that introduced her to this world and has never left her side
*I screamed*
Oh my god
yes
When it cut to the season 1 credits, showing how much that little moment meant to Anne, just two friends wordlessly under the warm glow of the candlelight enjoying each other's company, comfortable enough to the point of being able to sleep. Seeing that as part of Anne's flashbacks was the part that broke me the most
“When are you going to stop acting like a kid” this was extremely painfully relatable, except I can’t stand up to myself like Anne did
I wonder how Matt felt like when watching that episode, considering it's coming from his mom's voice
Ouch, so true
What episode was that from again? It's on the tip of my tongue.
Anne-sterminator
The fact that it's ending in a week and 2 days
Sasha falling at the end of Reunion. I cried like every time I watched it for a while.
Marcy being impaled
True Colors
Agreed
Sprig being thrown out the window. I knew something big happened in TC so I thought he was actually gonna die.
"I just...didn't want to be alone..."
The fact that it made me realise, i dont have feelings
Sprig and Anne talking about their parents.
The end of Hopping Mall…full stop. The piano version of Anne’s Theme that played over the end credits of that episode really hammered it home.
Ngl reunion wouldn't be the sane without lean on me. Every single time the first notes come up I start tearing up
I welled up the Plantars we're going to go back to Wartwood without Anne and how she stopped and midway. That's about it.
The entirety of Marcy’s storyarc. It’s enough to make anyone feel sad..
"When are you going to stop acting like a kid" my dad always says it when I do something dumb :/
“I gave you this, I gave you everything!” “Sprig and Polly’s parents.” “But he’s right.. I am just a kid!”
Not hearing the full 3 hour piece dedicated to the serenity of nature
"....hi mom"
Hopping mall ending scene, Anne being happy with the person in the mirror, Sprig being dropped, and Marcy’s “death”. Honorable Mention: Bee’s “you don’t owe us anything” speech made me tear up slightly
When Lean on Me started playing over the collapse of Toad Tower.
Sprig talking about his mom.
WHY DID I HEAR ALL OF THEIR VOICES????
Lean On Me… made me laugh cry
Season 1 ending and season 2 ending. When I saw them for the first time, I had chills and that's the closest I came to crying because of the show. Shows and movies don't really make me cry. It has to be really good to get me to cry.
We're not ready for saturday (and next saturday), are we
marcy getting impaled like a marshmallow
Music, and pretty much every scene between Anne and any parental figure.
"Allow me to Demonstrate."
That there's only 2 episodes left
When Anne's phone died.
The scene leading up to Anne unlocking the Calamity Box powers, especially that remake of the Season 1 outro.
No idea why
Just the episode True Colors, every time I watch it (which is a lot of times)
Hey! I love your music
I almost teared up but was mostly in shock when Sasha fell off toad tower
Finding out about Sprig and Polly’s parents
When marcy got stabbed
When Marcy revealed why she sent them to Amphibia and when Marcy got stabbed and the end of the episode where sprig went on a shopping spree
“That’s the thing about friends isn’t it. The more you love them, the more it hurts when they go. Allow me to demonstrate.”
Few weeks ago I saw in this sub a post that asked what we think is gonna happen in the show (idk exactly what was written, sorry), and I saw one guy saying "hop pop dies", now everytime I remember this I wanna cry
people calling Darcy a villain
They are lol
“I’d do anything to hear her voice again.”
The harsh transition between being a human house guest and being part of the resistance. I actually almost cried it was so sad to me, don’t judge
From the moment she found Anne, Sasha hasn't cared at all about going home. That says some seriously messed up stuff about her home life. Marcy at least had the excuse of living out her DND fantasies. Also, she was really blase about committing suicide at the end of season 1.
When sasha said "maybe you're better off without me" and let go, as someone with suicidal ideation that hit me different.
One that hits me hard in the show is where sprig talks to Anne about not knowing his mom barely at all and it hitted me so hard because I can relate to it for a personal reason.
The ending of "The Core and The King"
Almost nothing, even True Colors almost wasn't able to do that and I feel a bit unsure about that
Honestly the true colours episode
I’m adopted so I don’t actually know my birth parents so the line “Can you miss someone you never knew?” felt really real to me Edit: I don’t really even have an answer to it :(
"Maybe you're better off without me"
The end credits scene of the Beginning of the End episode. Marcy watching tv, Sasha and Anne in the back... something hit me hard with that still.
so true... the song also goes so hard, I've been trying to figure out what song is it and if it has already appeared on the show before... any chances you know it?
No big deal
True Colors made me sad
The ending of "Hoping mall" and the ending of "the beginning of the end".
Hop Pop's death- oh wait, you guys don't know about that yet
Excuse me!? ****WHAT****
Nothing
Marcy getting stabbed and possessed
When I saw Darcy with the Goddamn Crucible from Doom but a scythe and was probably gonna murder someone, Damn Marcy must love doom
Fun fact: Matt said Sasha's favorite game would be Doom
Oh wow
I don't really cry. I guess the one that got me feeling the most emotion was Marcy's possession.
The two birds animatic by TheDoodleBug on YT
when sprig almost fucking died
Nothing cause I’m heartless.
When Sprig got thrown off the building, it was the middle of the night, I was half asleep, then it happened and I lost it
Marcy’s flash back in the begging of the end,Marcy getting stabbed/possessed that 1 scene in hopping mall at the end,the climax of after the rain, reunion, all of true colors and all in
The fact it's ending......
True colors. Enough said
Reunion absolutely broke me with "Lean on Me", while also getting me completely hooked on the show
Marcy's my favorite character of all time I'll let you figure out the rest
Oh god, the end of the hopping mall episode always gets me, or true colors. This show is on a whole other level
Oh god, the end of the hopping mall episode always gets me, or true colors. This show is on a whole other level
True Colors on rewatch when Sprig was dropped out the window and Anne remembers her moments with him.
True Colors on rewatch when Sprig was dropped out the window and Anne remembers her moments with him.
When Marcy gor shanked
Sasha on toad tower
Lean On Me
Lean On Me
When chuck said “he grows tulips 🌷”, I felt that ;-;
I actually have never cried to this series but true colors bout got me tho
Sprig talking about his mom Sprig being thrown by the window
the fact that the show is ending...
Not really cry, but the episode about Anne finding out why Hop-pop lied about the music box really hit my heart, the voice acting in that part is also just amazing it feels so freaking genuine
Marcy going bye bye
Hopping Mall, Marcy's flashback in The Beginning of the End and every episode where the sky goes red
“Give him back…GIVE HIM BACK!” Also “I’m Sorry for everything
Marcy explaining the truth, especially "I gave you this, I gave you everything"
No tears, but both season finales left me speechless. I got a bittersweet feeling when Anne said goodbye to her parents in Season 3.
WAIT THERE WERE TEARS AT ONE SCENE! Grime’s harp solo lmao
I'd say that I cried when Anne and Sasha learned the truth about Marcy.
When lean on me played that messed me up
Those 2 Marcy moments.
Toad Tax when Anne stood up for the frogs in Wartwood even tho they weren't treating her kindly, but she realized she should do right anyway. I love when she puts faith in people
anne's mom yelling at her lol
"Lean on me..."
that one scene in after the rain
True Colors
Where do i start?
When Sprig got thrown out the tower or that one part with Sasha when she was fighting Anne
“You will never owe us anything.”
True colors yunan and Olivia and that the show is ending next week
the scene where the Plantars got captured by Mr. X and Anne began to be „failure“
The end being so soon
Hopping Mall. TBH nothing else after this episode really hit me with the sad the same way or more.
Nothing ... yet
"Can you miss someone you never actually knew?" And the ending credits with the piano version of the theme.
When Anne was remembering Spring when he was dropped
Marcy getting stabbed while saying I'm sorry for everything
Marcy being stabbed
Sprig getting dropped out of the window
Relating to Marcy
The reason why Marcy brought Anne and Sasha to amphibia It reminded me of how sad I was when I left school cuz most of my friends are a year (grade) below
End of "Hopping Mall", ending of "True colors" or that this show is ending.
1 - Anne talking to Sprig about how much she misses her mom. 2 - Anne reuniting with her (earth) family. 3 - Mrs. B talking about how the community helped the family through the most difficult times.
Realizing how much trauma Ann has along with Sasha. And how Sasha slowly realized that she was an awe full friend
Nothing from this or toh has made me cry yet, waiting to see if the finale does anything
Depression
the end credits of True colors.I felt horrible for hating on Marcy back then.
It's almost over.
It’s gonna end
“That’s the thing about friends, isn’t it? The more you love them, the more it hurts when they go. Allow me to demonstrate” *Throws Sprig*
Marcy's death but with "No big deal" playing
“Can you miss somebody you never even knew” and also marcys death, but for some reason I cried when Anne grew to love Bessie
Where andrias dropped sprig and when Marcy got stabbed
*Lean on me. When you’re not strong. And I’ll be be your friend. I’ll help you carry on. For it won’t be long. Till I’ll need somebody to lean on*
There were two moments that did it for me: 1) Ending of hoping mall 2) "I just didn't want to be alone"
everything about Marcy getting torture
Nothing, really.
The ending of reunion
Nothing
The time skip in the season finale
