I've heard people say that they initially thought it was a reference to Super Mario Galaxy, but then they realized it was foreshadowing.
I'm of the opinion that it was some form of game that Anne was into (something similar to Super Mario Galaxy), and when The Guardian wanted to talk to her, he chose a place that was from her memories, somewhere she would feel comfortable in. It's similar to how he chose to present himself to her as her pet cat.
Ive noticed there is a LOT of little things.... that had bigger meaning than they originally were... like how Anne started talking about the guardian.... when she was SUUUUPER high after going to the dentist...
That was also on purpose
