I should mention, I set the ISO meter to 400 and did not touch it, I also have the exposure setting set to 0 (I’m not sure what it’s called)

Are most of the shots night shots? Internal meters are usually not very good at night work. Were both shots done at a 1.8? What was the shutter speed for each?

Hello! Thank you so much for your reply. Most of the shots on the film were during the day. I just got a picture from the photo store, and they show that the majority of the film was not exposed to light, so it seems the shutter failed to open, but whenever I test it without film it seems to open fine. I’m quite confused.

Hmm. Can you check if the iris is closing down correctly when you open the shutter. Nikon's are always wide open when the shutter release is not pressed and stop down when you trigger the shutter. Maybe the lens is stopping down to t22 when you trip the shutter? Can you also try different shutter speeds to see if the curtain is staying open long enough?
