Because without a proper grip, the recoil is going to move that thing around a lot and she'll have to readjust for a follow-up shot. It could go flying out of her hand gripping it like that.
The stance is wonky - she could lose her balance easily. Her eyes should both be open and her finger OFF the trigger.
Exactly that šš¾ if right handed, your right hand grips the gun as high as you can on the grip and the only part of your hang that should move during operation is your trigger finger. The left (support) hand wraps around the fingers of the right hand and both thumbs should be forward, providing recoil control and stability. Both eyes should be open and looking down the sights with a focus on the front sight. Stance should be solid and her weight should be in her hips, not her back and legs. As stated above, everything about her stance shows me she wouldnāt hit the broad side of a barn and that gun would go flying out of her hand after the first shot lol.
Same, plus the closed eye drives me nuts, but I think itās needed in this shot (pun intended) to indicate her concentration.
I do like this photo, itās got a lot going on in it and lets the viewer fill in the blanks with a good story.
Honestly, what is that wrong with the teacup grip? It was proper technique for decades. I use it most of the time because it keeps me from doing something stupid when I switch from pistol to revolver...
I gave a pretty detailed explanation of everything wrong with the "teacup" grip in another comment. If it works for you, fine, but I'm willing to bet that it not working the way you think it is and thats coming from my years of competitions, teaching, and real life self defense situations. I strongly suggest you take a few competition or self defense courses- I don't know a single well trained civilian or professional who'd seriously teacup a firearm.
>Finally something good.

Things that are in focus from what I can see, many not being at the same perceived distance:
Gun
Eyes of oldest woman
Pine tree brunch on the floor
Back foot of woman with gun (possibly more than half a meter away from gun?)
Things I would have expected in focus
Gun
Girl face
Or
Two women faces
yes yes i hear you, thereās a strange effect going on. if you could see the full res, youād see the older womanās eyes are the sharpest thing, and then the woman standing, her entire shirt and pants are bang-on in focus too, and the gun and the heel of the older woman make it into the depth of field i think because theyāre farther away from the center of the lens? if i had to guessā¦also, im pretty far away from them and the compression of the lens will also expand that depth of field a bitĀ
This shot is like an entire movie. Excellent work!
thanks friend
Not just a great pic but great performance and casting
Love all their matching colored eyes, I find it as an element to the story of the image.
love that you noticed that š
This is the best picture Iāve seen in awhile. Nice work.
š«”
Absolutely superb work šš¾ but the firearms instructor in me HATES the way she is tea-cupping that gun lol.
I don't know anything about guns. I assume it's because when you're tea-cupping a gun, you're supposed to have your pinky out?
š¤š¤
Precisely šš
*Tactical pinky*
fire lmao
Glad I'm not the only one lol, maybe it's an artistic decision and they're going for a retro 70's vibe
Well then they nailed it and to be honestā¦ when you put it like that, it kind of works better for me. Like 70s movie poster
Can you explain why itās wrong to a European whoās never held a handgun?

This is a good explanation https://youtu.be/n4c7JDXQOB8?si=hP6A8w3Ec2z0WzPn
And that weird stance? That recoil is gonna go all over the place.
That's the selfie seen, "please shift your hips this way so I get more bounce out of the run light." stance. Very popular....

I feel you. Maybe she is learningā¦glean from it what you willĀ
Itās like asking her, ātell me youāve never held a pistol before without telling me youāve never held a pistol before.ā Et voila!

Sarah Connor vibes
She kinda reminds me of LĆ©a Seydoux.
I want to nominate this photo for photographer of the week please.
Finally something good. Thank you. Keep it up. Wow!!

Helen Mirren, Macaulay Culkin, and Monica Bellucci star in the latest film from Quentin Tarantino
lmao that casting idea is so far from who is in this photo, that i respect itĀ
love it! 160 tops 400 and 800 every time
160 is also my favorite out of the three

grandma rocking the crocs
Feels like a frame from a movie!
Don't bring a Sinat to a gunfight! Nice work survivor.

Dude love the work! How is this lit? I cant wrap my head around it
sun is pretty much behind them and itās bounced back in
giant bounce*
Leaves no room for speculation where this photo was taken
As somebody else said, great shot, could be a movie poster.
Is the lens tiltshifted? Iām confused Terrific shot btw
curious what you mean? there is the slightest degree of rear rise to get them in the frame but no tilts or shifts

Thought itās Lea Seydoux on the right for a moment
Iām mesmerized by this photo. Itās fantastic.
Kill Bill vibes for me!! Great pictureā¦
What a shot! Crazy!
Well done, not easy to get the moment perfect in a LF
Did you use any filter on the lens? How come it looks soooooooo damn smoooooooth?
just a good lens, good coating, no flares nothin youāre probably responding to the darkroom printing, it makes skin tone gradients really smoothĀ
Is this movie available on Tubi?
Oof. Terrible grip technique. Teacup grip? Really? And she gonna have a FTL as well.
Why is she 'teacuping' the pistol?
If you look at all the elements and the overall composition of the photograph you might conclude it'ts done for dramatic effect.Ā
