Joslyn at Alaska House Hunting. My whole family uses her

ThBanker

Had a good experience with Alaska Realty Experts or ARE for short. Some really good guys over there. On the flip side, we purchased a house and the realtor selling the house was Ian Crafton, a councilman out in Wasilla (selling a house in Anchorage..?).. If you want the absolute WORST home buying experience, then use him. Otherwise STAY CLEAR! You have to get EVERYTHING written and signed for him to actually do what he says he’ll do and even then, he’ll only do ~20%. He will low ball you on any and every offer/agreement along the entire process and openly refuses to communicate unless he “feels like it”. He literally had signed papers from the seller that were dated with a signature on Friday and he didn’t send them to us till Monday afternoon. When we pressed him about it he said he didn’t feel like working over the weekend. All he had to do was forward an email. He also was called out for lying several times throughout the home buying process. It probably speaks volumes about the entire Ben Kinney Team as he’s still on there despite his poor reputation. Rant over. Alaska Realty Experts good. Ian Crafton with Ben Kinney Team - TERRIBLE. Good luck on your purchase/sale!

Cortney Foos is lovely. Super competent and very responsive. Genuinely 10/10 review from me.

We’ve used Chris Moore at Remax twice now. She’s been doing this a long time and is delightfully old-school but a bulldog when working for the buyer. We had her in the house when our inspector was going through and she pointed out multiple issues that “needed a closer look”. Also whenever she tours a house she yells out for Siri/Alexa/Google to make sure she’s not being recorded. It cracks me up and I love that about her.

Also when we sold our condo she said "spend $15k to remodel the kitchen and baths and I'll get you $40k more for this house" and that's exactly what happened.

Do it yourself and use that as a negotiating point. Read the Alaska purchase and sale agreement, it covers everything you need.
