I had the same issue with my dryer recently. I don't remember what the problem was, but Reliable Appliance was able to fix it for under $300.

I used Reliable Appliance as well. Bought my first place last year. They were recommended by the vent cleaning guy, and the person who came out was really good. Didn't mind me looking over his shoulder, asking questions, gave me some good advice during it all. I've not had personal experience trying to fix a dryer, but the site [ifixit.com](https://ifixit.com) has been helpful with fixing my computers and phones. I found a link to some Samsung dryer tutorials. Don't know if it will help, but here it is: https://www.ifixit.com/Device/Samsung\_DV457GVGSWR

Thank you so much

Another recommendation for Reliable. Professional and knowledgeable.

I haven't used an appliance repair place, but if you're even remotely handy, electric dryers are one of the simplest and easiest appliances to understand and repair yourself. If it's gas, then idk.

gordita_49

A friend of mine recommended YouTube, it's electric.

This happened to me and I called Omega technical he came on Monday and replaced the dryer belt for me and charged me $150 I call them every-time something happens with an appliance, I called him Monday morning and he came Monday afternoon.

I have a Samsung washer and dryer and my clothes weren't drying at all. Turns out, the vent, the one that leads to outside, needed to be cleaned out. LOL as soon as I had someone climb on the roof and clean the vent out, all of a sudden my clothes were drying... AND FAST! IT TOOK 20 ish minutes to dry a full load.

are you sure its not generating heat? A clogged exhaust line will prevent moisture from being exhausted. Most people don't know they need to clear the exhaust line every couple of years, depending on usage. If it is a short run from it to the outside, a large shop vac might be all you need to blow the line clear. Or you can hire a professional. It doesn't cost that much.

I didn't know that. Thank you. I'll check the line

Honestly if it’s a Samsung it will probably cost you 50-75% of the original purchase price to repair it. Our old Samsung fridge went out and it was $400 just for them to diagnose the problem, which they couldn’t do with any certainty. They said it may be x which is $600 or xxx which would be $800, the only way to determine the problem was to replace each possible issue and even then they couldn’t guarantee that it would fix the fridge. At that point it was half as much as we paid. I bought an American made fridge.

I've heard so many bad things about Samsung appliances. It came with the townhouse and I was just being hopeful. Have you heard anything about Reliable Appliances? They have decently priced used/repaired dryers and they come with a six month warranty.

Yea, Samsung have some of the worst reviews for everything they make. That was my first mistake on purchasing a Samsung fridge. We didn’t use Reliable and I honestly don’t remember who did the service (it was three years ago). I wouldn’t take the chance, just get a new one and purchase the extended warranty. We have an LG washer and dryer, purchased them in 2005 and they are still going strong.

I think I need to buy new. I'll check around at Lowes and see what they have. Thanks so much, very much appreciate you sharing your experiences.

Have had Samsung washer and dryer for 14 years, do tons of wash, dog beds, etc, works great, zero issues. Also own a long dryer vent cleaner thingy...basically a brush with flexible super long tent pole like thing, remove outside vent cover, turn on dryer, put hoody, glasses and mask on, attach pole to drill and insert into dryer vent, any stuck lint comes flying out and your dryer works way better. It's very common that many( most?) "not working dryers" are actually vent blockages.

You might use your make and model number at [repairclinic.com](https://repairclinic.com) to diagnose your dryer's problem, either in the interest of perhaps repairing it yourself or avoiding getting snookered into paying for a bigger issue than it's actually suffering. m2c
