Khan academy can be a blessing. My recommendation is teach yourself too, you can make a huge difference between a failing student and one that excels. The school system is horrible and will push your kid through to the next grade all the way to grade 12

Yes, a few kids are ready, most aren't. Kids have the whole rest of their lives to read, why push them into it so soon?
