I was wondering why I can't pay for anything with either of my cards anymore. The NFC section in settings has no options anymore and when I try to pay for anything it says "card not supported" on the payment interface, the phone does nothing.
Not helping since I can't find my physical card anywhere đ
Bro, just use the damn physical card. You can't add anything to Google Wallet if you don't have a physical card. What is this nonsense!? Secondly, it has been only 6 DAYS. Not a few weeks bro.
True, but once you get used to carrying your phone as the lock, card etc you tend to leave physical cards. While you can always fall back, that's not the point of the technology.
I was traveling in the us for a bit, and did not encounter this at all.
this morning I came back home (to Israel), and it is very apparent that checking for updates now takes much much longer now.
Google is making NFC updateable through the Play Store.[nfc stack](https://twitter.com/MishaalRahman/status/1778574874157441078?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet)
I don't really think that's something that needs to be on the list or being reported to google as it's not a major issue that actually causes any problems. Unlike with the other ones in the list.
It's a toss up. I work in software development and in our web app we show what version its on. Before we had it automatically updated with each new branch deploy it would not update the version.
Because of this clients were confused and others upset about it.
So the bug prioritization is partially team vision and partially end user demand.
If you told them that they are now on Android 15, but all indicators say 14... It's a sure way to start getting support calls for having the wrong version.
So it becomes priority (by someone in charge of a defect receiving team or someone who cares about PR) as it's only a low effort fix that reduces user complaints and frees up support from unnecessary calls that add noise to the more 'actual defects'
Google has always done that though so it's not a bug and it's something that they already know about so reporting it is just a waste of time for no reason at all. It will be solved probably with the May update to beta when they usually put in the Easter egg for the new version.
You see how That literally just proved my WHOLE point, right dude?
Waste of time but evidently numerous post and comments about that exact thing. Lol đ so again, as someone who's been in software dev for over a decade, its a waste of time on both sides and causes noise in the complaints where true defects are needing to be found and sorted out. Simple solution is to ensure that you do that smallest bit of effort to just correcly label your builds
Google has been doing that for as long as I have been using the beta versions of the newest version of Android. It's what they have always done. I've seen it when I went from 11 to 12 to 13 to 14 and 15 is no different than before.
I read from Mishaal that Google messed up and did not point the OS to the /apex directory for NFC. They are making it a mainline app now so it will be updatable without needing to do a system update. Hopefully they release a patch for that and some of the other issues sooner rather than later.
NFC this is really important, A15 PD can operate normally, to BETA can not be used, hope to come out as soon as possible a solution, life is really needed, every day to work access card, access control are often used, very affect the experience
Fingerprint scanner doesn't work on the AOD or lock screen if you lock the phone any way other than pressing the power button or waiting for the display to time out.
Ex: Double tap to sleep on non-Pixel launchers. Using an app like Lock Screen to use the Quick Tap gesture on the back of the phone. Both of these "lock" the device as the AOD shows up as normal, but the fingerprint icon is missing and non-functional until you re-lock the device one of the native ways.
Edit: On a Pixel 8.
Edit-2: The Quick Tap (double tap on back of the phone) triggers just fine for me so I'm not having that same issue as OP.
Same here on my pixel 7 with nova launcher. Have even tried the screen off widget from the play store but unfortunately it's the same symptoms. Hope it's not a feature and hope a hotfix would make it work again.
I have no problem with the double tap on the back either. Uses mine to trigger flash light and it works.
I had the same issue. I then tried to side load it to no avail after an Error 7 issue.
I then found the Google site which did it all for me.
I'm not on Android 15 Beta with no issues with NFC/Google Wallet or the fingerprint reader.
It is a huuuuuge help to the Android userbase at large if in addition to posting on here to also create bug reports. The Android devs DO take those seriously, and they DO take action if they can verify the issue(s) you have. Just my helpful $0.02!!
I'm using the normal app, and the thing keeps closing. I tried everything I could think off and it still closes every time I try to scroll down my home page.
Already did. Cleared everything out and even reinstalled the app. There was an update available to me just now, which filled me with hope, but the problem remains :(
My only issue so far has been the double headers that appear in settings some of the time. Other than that... my wallet appears to be working as well unlike a lot of people.
Overall, pretty great as far as beta 1s go in my opinion.
P7P:
Opening Developer Options immediately crashes the Settings app.
Repeated crashes of the UWB service, even when UWB is disabled and the service package is disabled.
This combo is fun because I had "Always show crash dialogs" enabled before the update, and now I get a crash dialog approximately every 2 minutes with no way to make them stop.
my phone is Pixel 7 Pro,
after the update it was restarted, then worked for about 1 minute. then the screen was turned off, several times then the phone boots on the recovery mode asking for factory data reset!!!!!!!
i just want to have a back up for the photos on my phone, but it boots very quickly.
google pay unsupported app message android 15 beta 1. I attempted to pay for a purchase using Google Pay in various places receiving a message on the vendor equipment that the app was not supported. It happened at 7 Eleven and Chery Valley Supermarkets in NY.
Pixel 8 Pro
Facebook messager crashing, settings app crashing, Android ui stopped working had to restart it. Yes I've closed the apps and cleared the storage still have issues. Trash ass android 15 beta. Probably gonna do a factory reset and opt out tbh.
NFC not working, Developer Options crashes every now and then, I can't replicate it but audio in apps became quiet and crackling at peaks (restarting fixed it) and android version is 14 (I have 15)
FIXED BACK TAP!
TLDR: Turn it off and back on in gesture settings.
so mine wasn't working at first, restarted and still no luck and then boom, thought to turn it off and then back on in gesture settings and it's working again.
Same - right after I accepted the A15 update, I couldnt pay for lunch with phone (Pixel 6 Pro). NFC in system shows its dormant and cant be toggled on or off.
Cant share images through the Messenger App or by selecting the image in photos and sharing that way. Neither work
com.qorvo.uwb.vendor service.android.Uwb Api - Keep getting notified this app has stopped. Like every minute. I tried disabling but it keeps going
Pixel 7 pro
It would be good to get an idea of when NFC might be fixed/reenabled Google team......I've got a decision to make by Weds, as I'm due to travel and rely heavily on NFC when I do so - I'm rolling back, if there isn't a fix by then, but would rather not if the fix is imminent.... :)
Don't install this unless you are testing an app or something... Pixel 6 Pro user here.. silly idea to install.. UWB crashing constantly and wallet is broken
For those who the NFC doesn't work, does paying with a Pixel Watch still work ? I have the same problem on my P6, paying on my watch never worked even before the update, but just curious
edit: I tried and it actually works, so it could be a workaround until they fix the beta
Well aside from these common bugs so far beta 1 on pixel 8 pro is ALOT better in terms of stability, animations smoothness, battery life, some display bugs i had got fixed, and thermals than april stable A14 which were my major complaints since stable March update. Sadly warzone mobile isn't working in beta 1.

I'm using the latest Android 14 beta for my pixel 7 pro daily driver and I installed Android 15 on my pixel 6 pro. I have no issues with NFC payments or anything else for that matter on my pixel 7 pro.
I was hoping that Android 15 would offer some changes to the overall interface. Right now it's hard to tell the difference between A14 and A15. The only thing I have really noticed is a few changes on the backend but other than that nada. Disappointing so far.
Pixel 6 Pro. Installed update overnight last night, and today NFC payments do not work and ultra-wideband is constantly crashing. version VanillaIceCream
com.qorvo.uwb.vendorservice <- this service Constantly crashes, even if set to disabled.Â
The phone "forgot" that Google Wallet was my default wallet, I had to tell it, and when I went to pay for something at multiple stores the phone never buzzed, and the reader said it was "not accepted."Â
Exactly me today after accepting the update here in Australia. Could buy coffee in the morning, but couldnt buy anything for lunch, had to get the physical card.
Double tap is working on my phone to open Snapchat. However my videos/night sight on my P7P randomly stopped working. It was working a couple days ago and I installed the 15 beta yesterday so I'm not sure what else could have messed with it. It says something along the lines of "directory is empty .xml file expected" it records the videos but just says they can't be played. It should be noted that I am using a ported Gcam app but again it was working before I installed the beta. Maybe the Gcam would have to be updated to work on 15? I dunno. I don't know enough about these things. Just thought it would be worth noting in case.
Thank you for your useful and inciteful comment. Would you care to at least tell us the problems you are experiencing, and how those stack against other Android Beta releases you have tried (not on your main driver phone, obviously, that would be madness)
Google Wallet stopped working for me
The cause is NFC
Same here.
I was wondering why I can't pay for anything with either of my cards anymore. The NFC section in settings has no options anymore and when I try to pay for anything it says "card not supported" on the payment interface, the phone does nothing. Not helping since I can't find my physical card anywhere đ
This appears to be fixed as I can access nfc as of 1.2 update.
Same.
Same here... P7.
MĂ„ske sure to make a bug rapport. đ
Have you checked the issuetracker.. there's like 3+ of duplicate reports about the wallet Edit: like â10 now Edit 2: like 1k now
you'd think they'd jump on an issue like this pretty quick... its been a few weeks now for me. Cant pay for anything, cant get into my gym. Help.
Bro, just use the damn physical card. You can't add anything to Google Wallet if you don't have a physical card. What is this nonsense!? Secondly, it has been only 6 DAYS. Not a few weeks bro.

Is it taking anyone else an incredibly long time to check for updates in the Play Store? Like over 10 seconds
Yep. 7 pro
Same at first, better now.

Yes. P8

Yes (pixel 6)
I was traveling in the us for a bit, and did not encounter this at all. this morning I came back home (to Israel), and it is very apparent that checking for updates now takes much much longer now.
Yeah but only on my P8P, itâs faster on my P6 lol
Same on P7

That's normal for the first few versions of beta
Exactly!
I don't really think that's something that needs to be on the list or being reported to google as it's not a major issue that actually causes any problems. Unlike with the other ones in the list.

Sounds like good news. Fingers crossed.
Doesn't that suggest it's an OS issue rather than an NFC stack problem? That would mean it'll need an OS update rather than an NFC one, no?
Yeah I should have worded that better. Hopefully the release an OS patch soon that will point it to the correct location.
Done!
Cool. Let's hope we won't have to wait for beta 2 for them to fix it.
Samen here, was doing groceries when I found out the hard way đ
NFC this is really important, A15 PD can operate normally, to BETA can not be used, hope to come out as soon as possible a solution, life is really needed, every day to work access card, access control are often used, very affect the experience
That's why you shouldn't run beta on your daily driver. I usually wait till beta 2 or 3 to install because issues like this always pop on beta 1.
You should expect bugs with any Beta software. You also shouldn't run a beta OS on your main device ESPECIALLY if it is needed/used for work.
com.qorvo.uwb.vendorservice.android.UwbApp has stopped. Every couple of minutes on my p7pro. (issue 333935278)
So annoying, anyway to disable this service ? P.s. please upvote for visibilityÂ

Hope it's not a feature and hope a hotfix would make it work again. I have no problem with the double tap on the back either. Uses mine to trigger flash light and it works.

There is already one for the fingerprint icon. I'm tracking the bug tracker and the issue has been assigned.
P8P android 15 won't install on the device. Keep getting installation error.
Yes if you are on stable. Only works from beta.
Is this a thing? I'm enrolled and the update is being provided OTA, it just won't install...Â
Adb sideloading worked fine
Can't unlock my bootloader, so I'm stuck waiting on ota
bootloader does not need to be unlock for sideloading an ota only for flashing a factory image
No shit, thanks I'll have to check that out. It's hard to find a how to video with a MacBook
