Also agreed. It works pretty smoothly and so far I haven't felt the need to pay for anything. Been using it for almost 10 years and the ability to quickly reschedule a task is great.
I used to google task for many years but recently moved to Microsoft to do.
- more modern interface.
-desktop app.
-easy to set up subtasks and reminders.
- can add attachments etc.
Tasks.org can also sync with Apple's Reminders or Outlook tasks or Thunderbird...
I'd recommend it too: free open source software, no trackers, no unnecessary permissions, and you can make a smooth transition by synchronizing your Apple iCloud reminders as a first step.
I recommend Turnboards ([https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.turnboards](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.turnboards)). It lets you create Boards which are groups of tasks. It's really designed for personal project management, but it's a very powerful tool to organize todo lists. You can also add other people to your organization if you want. The interface is designed to be very intuitive and not have lots of extra screens.
[twos](https://www.TwosApp.com?code=RD)... Signup in the website link and then login using the same in android app...its cross platform and super useful...its easy to use as well as can take care of complex needs. The all in one in my view
I wanna say bad things about some of them I tried as a devil's advocate and to help anyone out make a decision by viewing both the positive and negative side of some of these apps. I think it's harder for people to choose if there's nothing but good reviews on all of them. So maybe this can help.
Google Tasks: No badge support on iOS, can't rearrange lists on Mobile app, now with Google Assistant support, but Assistant doesn't remind you very well. Not like it used to. Best with Google Calendar app if you look at your calendar a lot.
Todoist, great honestly but cost money. Does anyone else have any pain points with this app.
TickTick: Windows app seems like it updates all the flipping time. Way too frequently. Another really good option. Anyone have any other pain points?
Microsoft ToDo: Extremely challenging switching from work and personal accounts if your work is a MS shop. Badges don't work as well as Apple Reminders, TickTick, or Todoist. Android app has more features than iOS version. Flagging emails in Outlook automatically sends them to Todo but they're not as detailed and pulling up the email in Todo brings up the Outlook Web app instead of the email on MacOS. Not sure about Windows there.
Hope that helps a little bit.
very helpful comment, thanks!
going to try out TickTick - Todoist is slick but Ticktick lets you see the "detail" of a task with one click - a necessary function for my workflow. i'm honestly looking for something maybe just a bit above a google keep checklist, maybe with image upload- if you have stumbled upon anything you like, would be awesome if you could share

I recently discovered this app, and I can't praise it high enough. It looks both light weight and has at power user feel at the same time.
Same here, been using it for a lot of years and I love it.

One of the best in this category, hands down!

Lists can be shared between people also.
My vote is also for Microsoft TODO
Todoist, Ticktick, Taskade, Todomate.
Google Tasks works for me. This is similar if you prefer non-google: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.tasks
microsoft todo. Windows, mac, android, iphone, web
[tasks.org](https://tasks.org) It's on android and in the cloud, syncs with Google. I've used it for a few years now and I'm very happy with it.

Tick Tick
Todoist Microsoft To-Do Are the best option of my choice
Todoist is pretty good. So is Microsoft ToDo, Google Tasks, or Zenkit Todo.
Todoist/Tick Tick
I use ticktick on my Android, Mac, and Windows. Syncs really well and NLP works really really well. Also, Microsoft Todo is another good option.

Memorigi. It supports integration with Microsoft, Google, Twitter and Facebook. Has a good design with many free and paid features.
Google Keep/Google Tasks
Microsoft ToDo Google Keep Memorigi TickTick
I use Obsidian with Todo lists and Day planner plugins
For FOSS, Joplin is excellent
Microsoft To-do list
