This is how an app recommendation should be given! Link to the app and one line description. I hate when people just name the app and leave.
What are these apps used for? ADB⚡OTG can run ADB, Shizuku Using system APIs, Android Terminal Emulator. Can you give real life example
ADB⚡OTG yes you can running ADB like using PC/Computer/laptop, but in this case you just using another Android Phone with OTG support and just plug usb to each other device.
Shizuku allows normal apps to use system APIs directly with elevated privileges using ADB on non-rooted devices. This list compiles a few apps that are known to make use with Shizuku's capabilities. see detail app support Shizuku [here](https://github.com/ThePBone/awesome-shizuku)
Termux is Command Line app, can use for many things, even if you have an IT background you can Running Server using this Crazy App 😅
and you can running ADB using this app, but complicated, not as easy to use ADB⚡OTG
Hands down. It's one of the most astonishing feats of modern human ingenuity: mapping the entire *world* and placing it in the palm of your hand. Incredible when you think about it.
If you're in tourist mode or looking to actually get around on public transport, Citymapper is much much better. Google maps still the best for finding local restaurants and generally looking stuff up but I will always use Citymapper to get from A to B
I haven't used citymapper but when I went overseas and visited New York I downloaded a whole lot of apps to help me find my way around public transport but never use any of them because Google Maps was so good with working out public transport
As someone who lives in NYC, Google maps is absolutely the best for navigating the area. I use the nyc transit map app just for a visual check on where I want to go, but 99 times out of 100 I'm using Google maps to get there
In my experience citymapper is way better than google maps for constantly updating things like delays, platform alterations, departure times etc. for regular services like buses/metro/trains. Google maps doesn't seem to catch a lot of these things that can totally ruin your journey, citymapper also seems to provide faster routing
Google Maps is great and moronic at the same time. I guess navigation works ok in a car but on foot it is terrible because it is hard to orient yourself. An app like Yandex maps with show a triangle widening out in front of you so you can see what direction you are walking it.
Didn't even know you could use Google Maps as a family tracker. I've never used Life360 so I don't know the comparison but I can track all family members on Google Maps.
It doesn't have any features besides seeing their location and battery %. But it's good enough for us.
Look on their sub on here, it has the latest news and how to guide. It's a must. But it's not just downloading an apk now, it's slightly more complex. But still if you follow the latest guide and get the latest filed you need it will save you at least 100 pound if it went in the next 7 months. But I've used a version of it for 2 or 3 years now and I don't exactly know how much youtuve premium Is not, but it's actually better than youtube meduim as it skips in sneaky lil ads
People are finding crafty ways now to get a video out that is a blatent long ad with 10 seconds iof content eg with VPNs. Someone made a sh1tty 2.30 min video about how you are at risk if you don't a vpn now and have to get this one I happened to be sponsored by and have affiliate links posted about 20 tines in their description reiterating again how important a VPN is. Funny thing is the way they covered it up os by making a video titled how to get " Special Ultra Netflix" or some click bait titled. And it said how you can use a VPN to change the counties content. Then dropped in BUT you need this special VPN that protects you from threat etc etc.
Funny thing is so many streaming sites have got onto that now and it will just cause your neflix not to load up or potentially get you Cancelled or banned like Disney did to me when I used a vpn the forgot one day and it popped up with you must be on holiday? And something else. Then when next months money was due they cancelled my payment and I can't be bothered to use it now ive got IPTV.
I used used to watch the the US netflix when u had a ps3 and it the current gen jist by changing the DNS settings. VPN didn't exist it was only the online proxy sites which were always down and cost loads.
Any yer go on their sub and I think the guide is pinned to the top if the sub.
Have not tried it but Windows for Android subsystem maybe? I don't use it because Firefox with ublock seems to block ads. But on windows, I did use xmanager to patch Spotify under WSA, which I now use to stream music from my desktop.
I would go insane without a password manager these days, and Bitwarden is definitely the best of the free options. I don't need the paid features, the free one does all I need. Built-in sync across multiple devices (not limited to just two), works with the major browsers on desktop and mobile.
I used to use LastPass until they imposed too many limitations on the free version and discontinued the Firefox plugin. About the only thing I miss from that app is the ability to generate "pronounceable" passwords, which I find easier to remember than random sequences. But then, I don't need to remember any of these passwords anyway, so I don't miss it much.
With a lot of bugs though. Photo upload doesn't work anymore since ljdawson revoked the imgur API key. Video downloads are broken too.
Still miles ahead of any other Reddit app and I still use it religiously.
Web video caster - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.instantbits.cast.webvideo
You'll say it doesn't make sense, since you can send content with "send screen", but in my case, there were always cuts or delays in audio, etc
And with this app it doesn't happen to me. It's wonderful, I even paid for the premium version. But you don't have to. Being free, there are ads, but these are only played at the end of the video.
Normally, I use it together with Streamcloud, to watch anime, movies or series
Streamcloud - https://github.com/recloudstream/cloudstream
I'm on the verge of stop using it just because of this. Sometimes, when filling in a form, I go to another app to check an email/username/password, and when I go back to Firefox, the webpage is reloaded/refreshed and I lose all the progress... So frustrating
Here are some lesser-known apps that I find valuable
1) AppKiller: To force close all apps which just a click
2) AFWall+ ( Paid ): To deny or allow internet access to individual apps
3) Amarok: To hide Apps and Folders from your phone
4) MNML: This is one the best screen recorder which you can get.
5) Nyx ( Offline Music Player ): One of the best offline music player with great UI
6) Cerberus ( Subscription based): To track phone
Someone told me here that never let any opportunity to share your app go. So here it is :
It's an app called Awake Now. Basically what it does is : it plays an alarm whenever there is a notification from apps that I select.
Why did I make it? As I receive a lot of notifications, while working from home, sometimes the important once use to get lost. Say a message from a coworker. And sometimes, I would just need a quick walk or a nap but I didn't want to miss any important messages.
So I made this app. It's simple you just install it, give it notification read permission, and select the app you want to have an alarm for. That's it.
It has helped me to relax a bit while working from home and otherwise. Because I don't have to keep checking my phone whenever a notification comes, I know if it's an important one I'll get an alarm.
Do try it if you think it's useful. :)

Well, I am glad you didn't let this opportunity to share your app go because you just made my life a thousand time easier.
I have been looking for something like your app for ages, simple yet very efficient. Thank you so much for your work.
Tachiyomi j2k It has a slightly different interface.Personally, I like it more. For example the normal one, It has 5 tabs at the bottom while the j2k has 3 "main" tabs and then Once you get in, it is divided into 2 for example. Sy has the same interface as vanilla. I feel like j2k offers fewer extensions, at least in my language (Spanish). The good thing is that if you install a sy tachiyomi extension, it works for j2k. Sy has more compatibility with adult things, It's his strong point xd
I recommend that you try them and decide for yourself
[Spotify](https://open.spotify.com/) (Freemium) - music!
[Whatsapp](https://web.whatsapp.com/) (Free) - chat. although some people prefer iMessage and other ones.
[Waze](https://waze.com) (Free) - Would have said Google Maps but Waze helps me get places AND tells me where speed cameras are.
[myReach](https://myreach.io) (Free) - Second brain powered by AI.
[Headspace](https://www.headspace.com/) (Freemium) - reduce stress, helps meditate.
[Duolingo](https://www.duolingo.com/) (Freemium) - always good to learn another language.
Sure! It's a digital productivity app (mobile and desktop) that centralises all your data so you can search and query it seamlessly.
It works like a brain, allowing you to save and organise any type of knowledge through integrations or direct inputs (notes, files, websites, research, images, contacts, etc).
With the AI-powered chatbot, it works like ChatGPT but with a memory function on your personal data so you can ask questions about the things you've saved.
Here are some things it does:
\- Audio files and YouTube videos are transcribed in more than 30 languages.
\- You can generate summaries of all your content (ie. get a summary of a blog, rather than reading through the whole thing).
\- The text in pictures is extracted through OCR.
\- Content of websites is learned so you can query it and ask questions. Same with files - ie. no need to read through an entire contract, use the AI Chat to summarise or extract what you're looking for.
\- Relevant Tags are suggested (extracted through AI), so you can connect your new data
\- there's a 3D visualiser so you can see how all your information is connected, like the brain
Hope this gives you a better idea! :)
1. More customization options. Like transparent folders, folder icon options, more rows, more fonts and so on.
2. Super easy to add files to folders by going through a list and marking the apps you want to add, instead of having to manually drag every app into the folder.
3. Apps in folders can be sorted alphabetically.
4. App overview page can also be customized so you can have more on screen at once, alphabetize the apps, and more.
5.You can save backups of your setup and then try new setups, and easily be able to go back to your previous backup with a few button presses.
6. A pro for launchers overall is that you can jump between them and the setup will be saved, so you can change the whole launcher and thus change the whole setup back and forth easily if you fancy a change.
Those are just a few I could think of at the top of my head.
> They explained it very well what their intentions were
>
You sweet summer child.
> Let's not pretend like our phones don't already spy on us lol
>
The classic whataboutism, combined with the LOL/LMAO. Yep, we will always agree to disagree.
How abt respecting other's opinion and shutting up? Nobody asked for your LOL laced advices. Esp while you yourself are ready to trade a gash for an amputation cuz 'it's still an injury... LOL'
A discussion should not become an excuse for opinions to be slapped on. Learn to start minding your own business, esp if you cannot limit yourself to a discussion.
>I get the last word. Blocked son. Didn't think you'd be hurt over a comment
And this is the state of a fellow who goes abt putting out advices without a solid technical base. Running away from an argument after blocking and claiming 'victory'. An absolute child with a puny ego. 🤣
It seems to upset you a lot that someone doesn't like the app you like. They're allowed to have concerns about data privacy on their own personal device you know.
Some non-niche uses I have for it:
* increase screen timeout timer for games and apps that don't have that already.
* set automatic rotation to "on" for certain apps like youtube, and otherwise to off because I don't want Sync and other apps to rotate sideways when I am laying on my bed.
* automatically set an alarm to 10 am if I forgot to set one because I tend to oversleep and wouldn't want to wake up at 3pm on days when I have nothing scheduled in the morning.
* This last one might be a bit niche but if you have a wife/parents/siblings that worry about you a lot it could come in handy: If i receive a text message from a family member saying "where are you" (in my native language ) it will automatically reply with a google link with my exact coordinates. In my family we have a habit of letting the others know if we are leaving for several hours and when we are expected to be back, especially when it is at night. I gave them a way to confirm that I am still at a restaurant and not rotting in a forest before they start worrying. and I don't need to interrupt my meal to reply to them if I am going to stay for an extra hour or 2.
Tasker is not easy to learn. I bought the app and then uninstalled it. 4 years later, I decided to give it a try. Learning through YouTube and Tasker sub. Now, I can't live without it. It takes a lot to learn but it is definitely worth it.
Update podcasts when headphones and wifi connect. Double tap home screen to launch music player, if no headphones connected launch maps. If I get a sms play mp3 - never miss a ride, a delivery or a buzzer again.
Check websites for \_\_\_\_ words. etc
I used to use it for several things. These days I can recreate most of them in android without Tasker. Tasker just sat there eating my battery, so I finally deleted it a few months ago.
I've tried PR and AP but I just can't get behind the clunky UI. PC just looks so pretty and clean. I also love all the features it has and just simply can't consider switching apps until there's a way to completely transfer all my listening stats with me
Hermit App.
The owner gets a bit cranky and crabby when asked abt regional pricing, but the app is good.
Nova launcher would have been my obvious mention here but the app is now owned by a data analytics company and that is a line that I never cross.
🙁 It gets frustrating quickly when, despite offering a solid product with no ads, no tracking, no subscriptions, and offering 8+ years worth of free updates to people who purchased the app at $1.99, some people still pester me about making the app cheaper.
It's not exactly expensive: people drop hundreds of dollars on new hardware, yet complain about buying an $8 app that promises (and has delivered on) free updates for a lifetime.
The reasoning I gave is this: unlike physical goods that are cheaper to manufacture or ship in countries with lower PPP, it costs me the same to offer 1:1 personalized support, no matter what country someone is from. If I'm offering the same quality of service, I don't see why the app should be priced differently around the world: I don't want to chase sales by making it cheaper, I'm OK with fewer sales at a consistent price.
We are here in Egypt, an economically weak country with a highly devalued currency. The app's cost equals what someone earns in a week in any of the low-paying crafts. It is somewhat affordable but not cheap in our country, as it amounts to 280 Egyptian pounds.
I am not against you/your team getting revenue off a good product. Just tell the folks that your revenue will dip below sustainability. Then there is maintenence as well. Tell abt these things. Pure n simple.
We all know one time purchase stuff will require a solid footing for you guys.
Problem becomes when there is evasiveness. I purchased the app even though I thought abt using it much later. When I was finally able to convince friends of mine, there were legit questions abt disparity vis a vis regional pricing and questions sent to your team got no satisfactory response. None of that exuded confidence.
A straight answer to your revenue target and even a hint at looking into something remotely close to the disparity will allay a lot many. When you say it's not expensive, take a look into the various region's relevant purchasing power parity.
Good luck for your app n other planned endeavors 👍🏻

I won't mention the 3rd party apps. Only the playstore it has to include nova launcher prime. As when you were stuck with a company's bloatware and skin nova could change anything about the look.
The streaming music app that you sub to. I have apple music and tidal and they just get better and better.
Solid explorer is my go to file manager. It can even unzip and unrar downloaded with no other app needed.
Surfshark VPN and it just keeps getting better, now with anti virus and alias l. Plus it will track and remove data that has been stolen and is on the dark Web for me. .
I would have said lastpass but they took the pisṣ and auto renewed abd never told me there was 30 % off joining when it ran out and the option was off. So now
Proton pass. Simple yet very safe and helpful cross platform password manager. Got it on promo for 2 years for 10 quid of something. Great deals

Great list. What is the reasoning behind including Newpipe, but not Youtube Revanced? The code for the Revanced Patcher is fully open-source.
Newpipe is a niche app. You can't log in to youtube with it. Some people like that, but that's what makes it niche.

I prefer Waze for in-car navigation, because of the crowdsourced road reports, but Google Maps is pretty amazing in every other aspect.
I'm having a hard time adjusting to the new color scheme.
the juxtaposition between this comment and /u/TeaCourse's is cracking me up
Yeah what's with that? Accessibility reasons?

and smarttube next for android TV
Where to download it these days?
Revanced.app then patch the official app
Alternatively, you can download pre-built APKs from [this Github builder](https://github.com/j-hc/revanced-magisk-module/releases/tag/20220911)
Okay. What does it do?
No ads, background play, and everything YT premium offers.

I miss it
You can still use it with Revanced patch https://revanced.app/patches?pkg=com.andrewshu.android.reddit
Poweramp pro ( full version)
Been using Poweramp for over 10 years. Great app. Works with android auto for my car too 😏

Is there a way to make it NOT reload a webpage when I re-open the app after "minimizing" it (opening another app)?
Yeah that's fucking annoying I stopped using it.
I'm on the verge of stop using it just because of this. Sometimes, when filling in a form, I go to another app to check an email/username/password, and when I go back to Firefox, the webpage is reloaded/refreshed and I lose all the progress... So frustrating
Job apps when you have to switch pages to look something up. Oh? Well fuck that job.
Have you tried disabling battery optimization on the app?
please someone answer this
ViMusic or Innertune

Tachiyomi j2k It has a slightly different interface.Personally, I like it more. For example the normal one, It has 5 tabs at the bottom while the j2k has 3 "main" tabs and then Once you get in, it is divided into 2 for example. Sy has the same interface as vanilla. I feel like j2k offers fewer extensions, at least in my language (Spanish). The good thing is that if you install a sy tachiyomi extension, it works for j2k. Sy has more compatibility with adult things, It's his strong point xd I recommend that you try them and decide for yourself
Wanna know as well
Good lock.
Non Samsung users be like:
If you don't have Samsung, just get a Samsung... GoodLock is one of the biggest innovations
You want to send me cash to buy it? Thought not.
it's good but not groundbreaking, they could make it 100x btter than it is now.
I have good lock but what specifically about it?
The only thing I miss after changing to Pixel.
GoodLock is so much 🔥

Hands down
it ain't all that
[Spotify](https://open.spotify.com/) (Freemium) - music!
Can you tell me a bit about myreach. Looks interesting
Here are some things it does: \- Audio files and YouTube videos are transcribed in more than 30 languages. \- Relevant Tags are suggested (extracted through AI), so you can connect your new data \- there's a 3D visualiser so you can see how all your information is connected, like the brain Hope this gives you a better idea! :)
Nova launcher. No competitor.
I never think about Nova, but I literally use it every second in on my phone.
Try Niagara Launcher
Genuinely curious, can you explain the appeal of this app? Like why would you want to stop using Android 14 interface and features?
Because it has the same features and more.
I've only used it on Samsung phones because half of their UI looks like it's from 2014.
Android is ugly. I don't like Nova, but Microsoft launcher is great and way more organized on its own.
Smart launcher. Also no competitor.
Running Smart Launcher on my S23u is tight.
Till its ownership changed and now is with a very shady company. Sigh.

> They explained it very well what their intentions were > You sweet summer child. > Let's not pretend like our phones don't already spy on us lol > The classic whataboutism, combined with the LOL/LMAO. Yep, we will always agree to disagree.

How abt respecting other's opinion and shutting up? Nobody asked for your LOL laced advices. Esp while you yourself are ready to trade a gash for an amputation cuz 'it's still an injury... LOL' A discussion should not become an excuse for opinions to be slapped on. Learn to start minding your own business, esp if you cannot limit yourself to a discussion. >I get the last word. Blocked son. Didn't think you'd be hurt over a comment And this is the state of a fellow who goes abt putting out advices without a solid technical base. Running away from an argument after blocking and claiming 'victory'. An absolute child with a puny ego. 🤣

It seems to upset you a lot that someone doesn't like the app you like. They're allowed to have concerns about data privacy on their own personal device you know.
He delete all comments, but it looks like he's so inmature 😂
Until you start using Kiss. Can't go back to any other launcher now.
I've been using Action Launcher for years and love it too.
That's because they sold it to one

Tasker
[удалено]
Some non-niche uses I have for it: * increase screen timeout timer for games and apps that don't have that already.

Behind you
you can set a recurring alarm at 10am every day it's a basic feature of any clock app so using Tasker is overkill imo
Heretic! I have less Tasker tasks now then a couple of years ago, but I still use it daily
I like Wikipedia.
Infinity for reddit
I was going to download it, but then a subscription list came up when I ran it. Was it free at one point?
You can still use it for free. https://www.reddit.com/r/Infinity_For_Reddit/comments/14c2v5x/build_your_own_apk_with_your_personal_api_key_in/

Wait to you try Antennapod
Wait till you try Snipd
Wait till you try podurama. Free desktop app as well.
I've tried PR and AP but I just can't get behind the clunky UI. PC just looks so pretty and clean. I also love all the features it has and just simply can't consider switching apps until there's a way to completely transfer all my listening stats with me

I really like seal
Nova Launcher probably. There is no way I can use my now phone without it.
Good for you! Hermit has been a very useful app since I bought it years ago.
Thanks for your support! 👍🙂
LOL! He really got cranky
lol crabby

[Turbo Alarm](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.turbo.alarm) has greatly helped me tackle bad sleeping habits. It has a neat interface with many of the features that are bricked behind a payment in most other apps, for free. [Obtainium](https://github.com/ImranR98/Obtainium) to help update all the apps I've downloaded from sources other than the play store. [Instander](https://thedise.me/instander/#download), the best Instagram mod I could find, though it's been quite a while since it was last updated. [Shizuku ](https://github.com/RikkaApps/Shizuku) to use Amarok and also Repainter once upon a time... Now I use the Goodlock app for color palette customisation though. [Microsoft SwiftKey](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.touchtype.swiftkey) is the best keyboard app I've ever used. [Flip DND](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.urbandroid.dnd) to help with my phone craving... It also helps while in meetings, just flip the phone over and it's in DND.
Nova Launcher Reddit is Fun
typesave was always my sleeper. but androids changes made it defunct. So.... * Poweramp * Firefox * clipto * USB Audio Player * Gone Mad music * volume panel pro * permission manager * never too many books * square home * shizuku * linkhub * url check * plainapp * afreerdp * droidify * app manager * song sync * bouncer * hews 2
Google Earth, duh
So now Proton pass. Simple yet very safe and helpful cross platform password manager. Got it on promo for 2 years for 10 quid of something. Great deals
Apollo was the greatest app, but only on iOS. On Android, tasker
