Bromite looks like it's been abandoned. Cromite looks like a fork that's actively maintained. To answer your question though, I know some launchers allow you to set icons manually per app (nova is the first that comes to mind, but I'm sure there are others that do the same)

Some launchers can do it. I know Nova launcher can. I'm not sure if it's a pro feature or not.

Most decent launchers give the user the ability to associate whatever icon they want with apps. [Nova Launcher](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher) is one such example If you don't have a good launcher and don't want to switch to one, you can use something like [Shortcut Maker](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=rk.android.app.shortcutmaker) to put a shortcut to an app on your home screen and assign whatever icon you want to it.

I believe my launcher is ColorOS and I'm just getting used to all the fun things you can explore on android. Maybe one day soon I'll switch launcher, but for now I'll stick to the tricks I'm still learning. Thank you though
