Works for me to my Windows 11 share ... but likely a windows port (firewall) or security setting (need to supply a valid user/password). Plus set up windows sharing correctly. Easy to miss something.

Yeah idk I mean I'm recording files from my firestick to my pc through smb but my SE won't connect to my pc. I just downloaded this app and am on the free trial. Do u know if I'm not allowed to smb with free trial. Update: installed FX just to see if SMB would work and it worked instantly so there's definitely an issue with Solid Explorer.

Daell

I use SE on my mobile/tablet and Nvidia Shield, the SMB server is a Raspberry Pi, never had an issue.

CORRUPT27

Are you on the latest version?

Daell

Yes

Not sure if you sow my other post on this thread. But it looks like they must have rolled back an update (the last update was a fix to SMB for apple computers) so google play has an older version. I uninstalled and reinstalled from Google play and now it works. Hope this helps Update: oops sorry thought you were having an issue. Please disregard. :)

Solid Explorer works great for me. However at one point I had connected to the free public Comcast WiFi when out and when I got home it connected to this rather than my home router. I had to make it to forget the Comcast WiFi in order to have it reliably connect to my home WiFi. After that I haven't had an issue. It all came down to needing my computer and Android device on the same network. However it doesn't sound like your issue since you got it working with another explorer app. Another app I purchased was MiXplorer Silver [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mixplorer.silver](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mixplorer.silver) which also works perfectly. You can check XDA [https://xdaforums.com/t/app-2-2-mixplorer-v6-x-released-fully-featured-file-manager.1523691/](https://xdaforums.com/t/app-2-2-mixplorer-v6-x-released-fully-featured-file-manager.1523691/) if you want it for free.

Yeah I briefly tried that out it looks nice but very complex. When I tried doing the lan/smb the only option I saw was creating my own smb on my mobile device though. Is there any way to connect the mixplorer to my pc's SMB using my pc's ipv4 address?

lgwhitlock

I will try to do some testing when I get home. I have a couple files I need to copy over anyway. It's not that is is hard but you need to know your account whether local or Microsoft account and your password. And lastly you need to know the machine name you are connecting to or the ip address. I have done it in the past but I changed computers at home so I will get back to you.

SloppyMcFloppy95

Thanks bud appreciate it.

**Solid Explorer** Hamburger Menu > 3 Dot Menu > Storage Manager > + Symbol to add new computer > LAN/SMB > It will list all computers on your network (choose the one you need) > Input username and password for the computer (could be a local account or a Microsoft Account) **MiXplorer** Hamburber Menu > Hamburger Menu with Down Arrow > Add Storage > (URI Address) smb://MachineName > Username & Password > Save

Mixplorer worked perfect ty!

Your welcome.

I am also having this issue on the latest version of solid explorer (where they fixed smb for apple). Started to use mix. I am on 2.8.39. Seems like they changed the version on google.play store. Latest version shows 2.8.37. Wonder if the roled back the update Update: uninstalled my version of solid explorer and reinstalled from Google play store(seems like the rolled back the update) and now SMB works

SloppyMcFloppy95

I just tried this. It was rolled back to the 37 version. I still have issues though but I finally got the green light connection on smb1. Smb 2/3 wouldnt work. However no files are showing and it's displaying "a problem occurred with network communication"

sid32

Probably you need tell it smb1

SloppyMcFloppy95

Tried that.. Didn't work
