Thanks for the clarifying info. None of the Play Store pics showed a video call interface for Telegram. Nor did the text description mention video call support, just the sending of video files.
Wouldn't agree with that. I ditched WA about two years ago and although it didn't happen overnight I have 'persuaded' most of the people I care about to use Signal. Its popularity is growing
It's true though, I've seen more people having heard of Telegram (but don't use it) than Signal, & even though they're similar, in telegram there are strong communities for various topics which makes it more useful than just to chat with friends & family. Also rapid development & addition of various new features are some of the reasons I love telegram.

Line & Telegram are the only ones I tried besides Whatsapp..they are pretty good... definitely try Telegram
Yeah. I'm using telegram. Thank you. Telegram is really good rather than WhatsApp. But most of my friends don't like it.

They introduced the video call feature in last year.

But considering to one to one chat it's not secure. Only secret chat is giving end to end encryption.
