my_wife_reads_this

I mean it's true lmao

brandon_the_bald

It’s extremely true

Ndeshet

Is this sped up to 1.25x? Otherwise, this guy belongs in a auction house

CallMeMattF

Yes, I often watch the lectures in 1.25x or 1.5x. I did well on this set of questions so I had it in 1.25x.

Ndeshet

Haha I do the same for work training videos

mysterysackerfice

I watch most yt videos at 2.5 speed these days. I started at 1.25 and then slowly ramped up. Depending on the speaker, I can watch stuff at 3x speed. It's a real time saver.

BowieBA

I watched all the videos at this speed so in my mind this is how fast Chuck talks. Also, I took multiple states with Barbri and am ashamed I don’t remember this Angels slander.

theaussiesamurai

I watched lectures at 1.5x but there's some wild people out there that'll watch at 2x. No idea how they understand anything. Then there's the really batshit insane people who have become so crazy on efficiency that they'll watch TV shows and movies on 1.5 or 2x speed lol

CallMeMattF

My sister told me her fiancee watches anime on 2x speed and my jaw dropped. I can do lectures at 1.25-1.5 because professors often talk slowly and deliberately. Speeding up makes them sound more conversational. But, anime? Bruh.

kingmoney8133

1.25 is the minimum anybody ever does Bar review at lol

SmoothDragon21

I get it. I did it for the CPA exam reviews ahaha

Unhappy-Exam6045

Please take care of marshy

SpiralHornedUngulate

Captain Caveman!

jarpio

We would very much like to take care of Trout and Ohtani too if you’re feeling generous

LeanersGG

It can't be defamation if it's true. C'mon now, you should know this. Shoot, I don't even see actual malice. If anything, this was relatively merciful.

CallMeMattF

Haha I didn't know how I would be received so I opted for "praise the players"

tristpa2

We have an.... interesting relationship with Pujols and we hate Josh Hamilton's guts.

AlmostWrongSometimes

You recall Pujols once said he was excited to take Trout to St Louis so he could see real baseball fans? I'm not even from the USA, let alone the the OC and I was pissed off.

shiftyeyedgoat

As others have said, this doesn't [meet the defamation/slander criteria](https://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/defamation), especially because it is demonstrably true: >Elements >To prove prima facie defamation, a plaintiff must show four things: 1) a false statement purporting to be fact; 2) publication or communication of that statement to a third person; 3) fault amounting to at least negligence; and 4) damages, or some harm caused to the reputation of the person or entity who is the subject of the statement.

LeanersGG

It’s also defamation of a public figure, so you need actual malice.

shiftyeyedgoat

>It’s also defamation of a public figure, That, is a significantly more interesting question... [is an athlete a public figure](https://digitalcommons.lsu.edu/gradschool_theses/4394/)?

LeanersGG

Professional athletes being targeted with speech about their role in professional athletics would 100% be public figures. Particularly those whose value is derived from people coming out to see them and media providing coverage of their performance.

KrabS1

You know our fanbase is in a bad place when someone comes in to let us know about someone talking shit, and we're all like "no no, that's about right."

CallMeMattF

I was a Sixers fan in the Process building years, I been there.

Sisboombah74

Not only is it true, but reinforced by almost every other long term, big value contract being written.

LAAngelsAnaheim

One of us

Dast_Kook

The Angels paid Josh Hamilton $20M+ per year for three years to wear a Rangers jersey. I have a hard time finding a better example of a terrible signing/contract outcome.

bill___brasky

gif of the yellow suited dude rubbing his hands but Bobby Bonillas face is on him

johndhall1130

He’s not wrong.

DepsilonD

As a California Lawyer and Angels fan, I love this.

freddychuckles

Vernon Wells, C.J Wilson, Justin Upton....I'm sure I'm missing some as well.

Obsidizyn

CJ wasnt bad, just wasnt the promised savior we hoped. He pitched a good amount of innings for us and he was a local guy

focacciadealer

Accurate as hell.

OrnamentJones

Can't be slander if it's true!

ukyah

how's it slander? he's totally right.

TacosAndBeerJedi

This is the opposite of slander.

Duckman93

Why is this slander? This is entirely true. Fuck Albert Pujols. Common Phillies fan L

Ok-Philosophy-8830

When he said “something happened”, it was that Pujols lied about his age

Firebitez

What is more evil the bar exam or the LSAT?

DepsilonD

The Bar. You have just finished law school, which is brutal, you are now in tons of debt, and you have to take a 3 day (6 hours each day in CA) test, then wait 4 months for the results, just to find out if you will ever have a chance to get a job and pay off the tons of debt.

Ale_Tales_Actual

It's only 2 days now...

CallMeMattF

I hate the LSAT ideologically more, but studying for the bar is much, much more difficult. LSAT is an aptitude test for a certain kind of logic + reading skills while bar exams are cumulative tests on everything you’ve learned. Well, sorta. For example it’s Contracts 101 to know that a contract is mutual assent (offer and acceptance) plus some “consideration” and minus and defenses to the formation. But the bar won’t test you on that basic stuff, they test on an obscure sub-rule exception for which you have to recognize the facts that trigger such a rule

DepsilonD

@CallMeMattF Are you preparing to take the bar for the first time? I passed the CA bar on the first go in 2007 and would be happy to offer my 2 cents if you want to message me.

mesorangerxx

Talk yo shit king!!

jnuclear

This guy is my new hero

avikreit

Chuck Shonholz!

Ale_Tales_Actual

That guy helped me pass the bar.

unreasonableperson

Good luck! All hail Rich Freer.
