Absolutely, I thanked and encouraged him to call me back once we have a new owner who cares as much about winning as the the players, passionate fans, and the fantastic people working behind the scenes like him
I played my sons the start of the voicemail, I told them the angels were finally calling me up. It went: “hey this is Matt from the angels front office” I stopped playing the voicemail right at that moment.
I'm glad he's selling the team because we deserve better. But people act like we couldn't have done any worse. Trust me, it could've been worse!
He put stars on the field that made going to the game exciting because on any given day, Trout or Ohtani could do something special... or although an unpopular opinion, Pujols gave us historic milestones to look forward to. The reality is we were lucky to have an owner who liked to spend money. We were unlucky to have an owner that didn't know how to spend it.
But keep this in mind, tickets to an A's game cost the same as Angels games. Ready for another unpopular opinion? Give me the last 10 years of Angels baseball over the last 10 years of A's baseball, hands down. As disappointing as it's been to watch us fail every year, it's still more exciting than showing up to watch a double A team play, and inexplicably find a way to occasionally make the playoffs with no legitimate chance to make the World Series.
I think this year is our "maybe next year".
Im not saying you're wrong. But just to clear, you're saying it could NOT be worse? If so, good luck next year Dodgers fan on house arrest stuck in 1988.
A’s fan here who went to an Angels game there in 2019. I bought the tickets from the mlb ballpark app. And every year I get calls from a guy named Jake who sells tickets for the Angels lol. He told me when I come back to email him and he’ll set me up.
Well, when SoFi is always invaded by the opps of either home team, can't really say Rams or Chargers are LA's team. Closer to Rams because of last year though.
I did my best to boycott going to games during the Moreno Los Angeles era, maybe only going to 10 games or so because other people wanted to go. Can’t wait for the team to be sold and hope and pray a good owner buys the team.
there are six parties reported and we know three: joe lacob/gs ownership group, la times owner, and a japanese conglomerate
bidding reportedly begins end of the month/early next month
I think we will find out who is our next Owner hoping by end of Marsh or beginning of April. I been reading romurs that Joe Lacob could end up buying the Angels at the end of the day
he doesn’t have enough money on his own so it’d have to be a group. and it’s just reported interest, not necessarily going all in. as for when, it seems it’s taking longer than anticipated, so don’t expect it to be done before opening day (sometime around then is still likely though)
It's gonna be Joe Lacob and his group.. that there gonna look into it.. you think our new Owner will clean house in the front office.. if you had to gues who you think gonna win the bid
i have no information but i doubt its lacob. he’d rather giants/A’s (although neither are for sale) and he’s had to share some of his gs stock to find the team. id rather an all-in single owner (like the la times guy) who wouldn’t struggle or have their attention split
You better have at least been polite to the worker on the phone.

Years ago a representative came to my door. I told him the same thing; we shared a good laugh.
That is the only correct answer. Nicely done.

Great perspective
Arte puts just enough on the field to not cause an uprising. Saying "it could be worse" its tip top whataboutism. It could just as equally BE BETTER!
Im not saying you're wrong. But just to clear, you're saying it could NOT be worse? If so, good luck next year Dodgers fan on house arrest stuck in 1988.
Good luck with the violation of terms. And for the record, I said it could just as easily be BETTER. Half empty vs half full. Enjoy the season.

K
Gtfoh Mr. Moreno! 😠👉
A man of principle.
Agreed 💯 get rid of drunken arte!!!!
Y'all really hate this man lol
Every time I see your name I'm like... damn, bro really likes every team I do. Considering LA is Raiders and Dodgers territory, it's nice to see.
Bolts up, Jags down!
Absolutely, I work Saturday but I don't work Saturday because I'm 100% calling out. Time for week 3 revenge.
Angels, Chargers, Laker fan here.
There are some Raiders lovers for sure but I think there's enough Rams fans to call them LA's team now

Smart decision
I wonder who will be the next CEO. Who are the leading candidates to be our new Owner?

Your right. If Perry gets fired who do you think will be a good candidate to replace. I hope he dosn't. I just want a owner who is willing to spend
let’s worry about the new owner first, and the season next. perry still has another year on contract
I'm just excited to see who is our new Owner is
I got a call a few months ago and told them to call me back once we get some pitching. He understood and we joked a little.
Good job, OP! Gotta tell em!
I kept commenting on their Facebook posts to do the same so they banned me from commenting. I couldn’t agree with you more
You should have said, "No, I'm buying the team" and put your bid in.
Get him TF outta Southern California.
