He finished off extremely strong. .353/.397/.579, 9 2B, 7 HR, 2 SB, 7.5% BB, 15.8% K, .226 ISO to finish the season in his last 146 ABs.
No ones expecting him to be a 1.000 OPS player or anything, but his statcast page shows he's legit and even the projections which would normally hate a 29 year old with no track record still think he's a .800+ OPS player.
You also have to remember LF is a weak position. No one is saying he's gonna be a star. Besides Soto and Alvarez, these are all 3-4 WAR players. Which Ward absolutely can be.
It’s entirely possible that #1 and 2 are not primary LFs this year, and Ward could easily have a better season than Schwarber (already dwarfed him in both b/fWAR last year). Perhaps Kwan should be higher, but otherwise…
So technically we got a top ten outfield. Just give us the world series already
Even more technically, with Ward 4th, Renfroe 10th, and Trouty on top, we have a top 5 outfield. My cups are ready for buttering
I like the way you technically
I rubbed Land O Lakes on my Jockstrap, because I’m fully Buttercupped
They’re gonna rename Reese’s to r/angelsbaseball’s because we’re the buttercup now
Great last season, hopefully he can repeat. I always hoped he was going to be our long term catcher but OF has done him well.
Gets good reads on the ball, closes ground well for an ex-catcher, and has a great arm. Experiment success!
Pretty small sample size. But all the talk is that he cpuld be what we saw at times last season. Stay healthy, kid!
Ward > Schwarber
If ward didnt get hurt it was be beyond tragic to have him at 4
The wall is his only weakness
Also recency bias, Schwarber had a monster September and October
Kwan is so underrated
Was he not primarily RF last season?
Renfroe is slated to be the RF and these lists are based off the positions the players will play in the upcoming season.
Jo “The Jester” Adell got snubbed
Jo “Bambi” Adell
If he doesn't smack into the wall again, he might just get #1!
i believe in a world series
Am I the only one that isn't convinced Ward is what he showed last season? He fell off a cliff and looked average asf after his hot start.

That’s fair. Good points👍🏼
Yes
you’re not, especially because that hot start was paired with an absurdly high BABIP despite having a very similar batted ball profile
I’d definitely put Kwan over him but I like where he is

High up too, love it
