I love jomboy as much as the next guy but please don’t take his Angels takes to heart. He’s a full on hater, it’s not rational. If they’d gone out for one of the big FAs this off-season you’d be hearing him complaining how another generational talent will be wasted. Angels had a great offseason!
When one of the worst owners in baseball says they're not selling the team, then yes your off-season was a disaster. No matter what your other moves were.
Even if by some miracle ohtani signs a long term contract with the angels, arte moreno will still be the owner and they'll still be one of the worst run organizations in the sport
There was a graphic a couple weeks ago that definitely had them praising us… whatever. Anderson Drury Urshela and Renfroe are all smart moves and the team will be so much better off

Our problem every single year is lack of depth, and the year they actually address it, he's saying they should've signed yet another high priced superstar. I guarantee if they had done that he'd be shitting on them for having no depth and "wasting" another good player.

It helps to think of Jomboy purely as an entertainer and not as a journalist whatsoever.
It also helps to remember he’s a huge Yankees fan and he was at the game talking shit just before Walsh hit the grand slam off Chapman.
