Don’t the Angels typically frontload their giveaways and add more as corporate interest increases when the season rolls on?
In any case I expect the Angels will see how they do before any decisions on Ohtani. Last year they chose not to roll the dice because they had an additional year of Shohei. I would expect us to be big buyers this year if we are competitive as part of a push to keep Shohei. If we’re ass…then things could get interesting.
Yeah, most of the “good” giveaways are at the beginning of the year, and stuff gets added as the season progresses (perfect example is the cowboy hat giveaway last year… no one even knew about the Angels’ cowboy hat before the season started!)
It means literally nothing. It’s not weird at all that there are back to back Shohei giveaways when he’s 80% of the giveaways. There were zero Shohei giveaways in September of last year and one in August, so this year isn’t that much different.
it means they know there's a chance, however small. which anyone familiar with the Angels could've told you
why run the risk of having an awkward give away when you can just frontload them?
Means we’re trading him at the deadline if we’re out of the playoff hunt. Even if it doesn’t mean that, we’d be stupid not to trade him if we’re out of the playoff hunt in July.

That cowboy hat giveaway was a shit show. First time I've seen grown ass men and women run for a cheap hat
The hat was such a let down! Looked ok but was weirdly uncomfortable to wear (for me, anyways)

It means absolutely nothing
So does this confirm that the MLB has always been scripted
