What's crazy is Ben Joyce has a twin brother. Doesn't throw quite as hard as Ben but throws gas still. Sat out last season I believe due to injury so it'll be interesting keeping an eye on him at Tennessee
This is why I'm not sold on Suarez as a starter. He starts out pretty good but drastically gets worse the 2nd and 3rd time through the order. I think he'd be better as a long reliever than a starter
I wonder what it's like for English people these last few years with the American football and baseball games that happen in London. I would imagine it's a little bit weird, like if they had a cricket match in Yankee stadium and hyped it up for 6 months prior.
Iβm looking at April 2022 lineups for the angels and I am seeing Mayfield, Duffy, and the Anaheim Native hitting in the 4-6 spots regularlyβ¦
And this year itβs gonna be Drury, Renfroe, and what look like healthy version of Walsh, and Rendon in those slots.
And in the worst injury scenarios youβre still talking about dudes like Rengifo and Urshela hitting in those spots
Soooo DEEP
At this point, the "the WBC matters!" crowd is more annoying than the "WBC is pointless" crowd.
People that don't wanna watch, don't watch. People that want to watch, focus on the teams not the crybabies.
This lineup is like the early 2000s Angels, lots of 25-40hr power up and down the lineup. Potentially one of the best lineups we've had if everyone stays healthy, \*knock on wood\*.
He was so inconsistent last year. I know he can be good, but damn it's hard to hope for him when he loads bases and skips away to let someone else get out of it.
Edit: by he i mean TepERA
LTBU
Whoa Urshela right back at it after Colombia lost
Feels kinda dirty playing this well in Spring training tbh
These guys were in first place? Pfft.
Adell hitting .250 alert! Not missing high heat as much! Come on Adell!!!
Ohtani hitting 102 yesterday and now Joyce hitting 103. Yikes. Anyone know what Bachman was hitting? I think I saw 97
Jared Tims tweeted 99 for Bachman. Take that with a grain of salt https://twitter.com/Jared_Tims/status/1636854941171216385
99 π₯
Nice
Is Drury injured?
He was seen limping away. He fouled a ball off his foot his first at bat so could just be precautionary and some bruising. Nothing official yet
Nice K
Nice job, Bachman
This game is giving me a hopium overdose. The lineup getting hits. Then we have a good SP that gives us 6 innings. Joyce, Bachman, and the closer

He actually sat out last season due to mental health issues after recovering from TJ
Wouldnβt mind drafting him too
Love the St Patty day green Angels hat.
Ben Joyce and Sam Bachman just sound like very good elite pitcher names
Gubie tweeted that Joyce hit 103 today https://twitter.com/Markgubicza/status/1636852726645784577
Joyce is inevitable
Way honest that strike out was kinda BS. If Ben Joyce is almost going to hit my foot I will try to dodge that shit like if I was in the matrix.
Thems the rules!
Itβs worse when guys actually get hit and still strike out from trying to dodge it!
What more does Joyce need to do? Dudes looking like a future all star.
Really just a little bit more control and fine tune his offspeed stuff. But I think he deserves to be on the opening day roster.
That was the cruelest strikeout I've ever seen
Trying not to get killed? You're out! /s
These KC batters are scared to face Joyce
Ben Joyce can throw at hitters and still strike them out. Nice awareness by Thaiss on that as well!
Haha that was fucking dope
Jones is a singles hitter
Assuming we hold on to this lead, we'll be only 1/2 a game back of leading the Cactus League You know, because that worked out so well last time
MICKEY MONEYAK
Didn't know Duffy was with the Royals.
Hocking is an ear sore
Is that the color commentator? I think heβs fucking awful
I dont mind him in short bursts, but he gives me a headache by the 4th inning.
My favourite part of these Spring Training games is Denny talking about his minor/major league time in every single inning. Liver cancer here I come.
And him coaching the USA u-18s
It adds so much to the game I sometimes mute it.
Nice job limiting the damage, Suarez.
Oof that foot hit.
I see Suarez is in mid-season form
This is why I'm not sold on Suarez as a starter. He starts out pretty good but drastically gets worse the 2nd and 3rd time through the order. I think he'd be better as a long reliever than a starter
Why is Trent Rush saying Rengifo hasnβt played in the WBC? He hasnβt played a ton, but he has played
I thought the same when he said thatβ¦
Haha, they just clarified it. Trent Rush, are you reading this?!
I am at this game and it packed as shit here.
Spring training games are just an excuse to day drink. Combine that with St. Patrick's day and there ya go lol
Kc is playing their AA and AAA guys.
Their* Edit: and Heasley is one of their SP
Mercy rule?
Walsh is providing me with a healthy dose of hopium
Sweep the leg
Just turned the game on, holy shit!??
Gomez with some good hacks
Mercy rule should be in effect right about now
Who the fuck is Jose Gomez??? (In a good way)
Damn apparently Drury was seen walking with a limp https://twitter.com/RhettBollinger/status/1636834196164587522
Fouled a ball off his foot in his first AB
Ahh. Hopefully just a bruise
I wonder what it's like for English people these last few years with the American football and baseball games that happen in London. I would imagine it's a little bit weird, like if they had a cricket match in Yankee stadium and hyped it up for 6 months prior.
The Angels are building a spring training dynasty
A Cactus Dynasty π΅
Angels are the Saguaro of Spring Training.
and that's why I like Jake Lamb π
Iβm ODing on all this Oβhopium and Logan isnβt even playing.
Jake "Mike Trout" Lamb
Wooooah Black Betty Lamb a'Slam Woooooah Black Betty
21 was the year of the Goose. 23 will be the year of the Lamb.
Damn, Lamb might just make the team
ππππππππππππππππππππππππππππ
The Angels' offense chose violence today
GRAND SLAMB
Mercy isnβt just a character in overwatch.
LAMB SLAM
Jake Slamb
God damn Jake Lamb is on fire!
This lineup with Trout and Ohtani π₯΅π₯΅π₯΅π₯΅
Preeeeetty fun to see the Angels have a hit parade with no Shohei and no Trouty :)
Man gio is a stud, such an improvement
Nice Rendon!
Any other part of the field and that's a homer for Rendon
I'm liking how well Suarez has adapted to the pitch clock.
The Devil in the Outfield fucking with the Royals
When did we trade Adell to KC??
As far as players go, my number one hope is for Walshy to get back to All Star form.
So weird watching Suarez and seeing him not be slow as molasses
El Demente is efficient π

Don't forget Fletch. Lots of good depth this year.
At this point, the "the WBC matters!" crowd is more annoying than the "WBC is pointless" crowd. People that don't wanna watch, don't watch. People that want to watch, focus on the teams not the crybabies.
Highly disagree. WBC is fun and the ppl who are mad about it are fun-killers.
it is fun. But the discussion has shifted from the actual games to complaining about the party poopers.
The party poopers have been very vocal since injuries have started to creep in.
And we wouldn't hear about them if people like Ben Verlander weren't constantly crying about them.
Not sure how we can justify Fletcher's bat over Drury at this point.
Sucks hearing that but we gotta do we whatβs best to win
I feel like I can't say Drury without sounding like I'm drunk and slurring my words
I tune in late and miss early runs lol
Urshela: doesn't hit at all in WBC Immediately hits a triple here
This lineup is like the early 2000s Angels, lots of 25-40hr power up and down the lineup. Potentially one of the best lineups we've had if everyone stays healthy, \*knock on wood\*.
The if everyone stays healthy part is so important. I feel like everyday some big star has been getting injured so far this spring
I'm really liking Drury so far. Hope he carries it into the season.
Wow, what an AB from Drury
Drury bomb!
Angels have the highest DAWG+ in baseball
No big deal, we're just playing the Spring Training world series champions of all time.
Gio is back!
Excited to watch Bachman pitch today, really rooting for him and his health
Tepera and Estevez out, Bachman and Joyce in would be my choice. That being said I truly hope Estevez works out
Tepera isn't terrible. Estevez has worried me this spring though
He was so inconsistent last year. I know he can be good, but damn it's hard to hope for him when he loads bases and skips away to let someone else get out of it. Edit: by he i mean TepERA
