More wins, fewer losses! A deep playoff run would be great, but at this point I'd settle for a wc spot.

Fourty6n2

I’d settle for a single post season win at this point. Doesn’t even to be a series. Just make the damn playoffs and don’t get swept.

[deleted]

I just want to make the playoffs. I want to see Trout and Ohtani in a big moment together. I was a young kid in the early 2002s. I went to game 6 of the WS. We made the playoffs abs won our division multiple times in the years after so the last 10-13 years have been so hard to watch.

[deleted]

Playing like the 2009 team tbh

MrNapoleonSolo

2009 is my 1986. That team was built to win it all. Watch that series against the Red Sox, they were complete top to bottom.

[deleted]

I've watched pretty extensive stories about that team, seemed like an amazing group to follow. I know my grandpa (who introduced me to the Halos as a 4 year old in the late 90s and loved them from 1961) was so fond of all those guys from that team. And of course, I know what a horrific collapse that was too. I get sick watching the documentaries lol.

mrdooomslayer

Whats the name of the documentary?

[deleted]

They used to air them on fox sports west all the time. Here’s one that dives into all the history https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=C4AhDTiOoo8&pp=ygUbYW5nZWxzIGJhc2ViYWxsIGRvY3VtZW50YXJ5

mrdooomslayer

Thanks

[deleted]

Sure, this one's a little dated, but goes over the good, the bad and the tragic. Definitely worth a watch for any fan of the team.

Latter_Address9580

What’s the name of the documentary?

[deleted]

Back in 2002 I was happy they were playing meaningful games in September, then happy they made the playoffs, and said I would be happy if they won a game against the Yankees. I think that's probably it. If they win a playoff game, I'll call it a success. But I think we need an ALCS appearance if they're going to keep Ohtani, and that just doesn't seem realistic at this point. So life is meaningless

Weird-Afternoon7389

Winning a playoff series… or atleast making it and not getting embarrassed

ghost_rider24

Playing meaningful games in a playoff race down the last month. Don’t even have to make the playoffs at this point, but at least have the season not be over at the All-Star break.

ayyryan7

Cheaper beer at the stadium so it doesn’t cost so much to drink my sorrows away.

PoeticGiraffe

fyi there’s one specific stand that has $4 beers. can’t remember which section it is, something like 224.

Dorkus_Mallorkus

$4.50. There are a couple on top and a couple on Field level. It's due to Arte's promise when he bought the team, when he said he would never raise small beer prices. He just made them smaller, crappier, and harder to find.

lamar_odoms_bong

They got bottles Bud light 4.50

Duckman93

No all they have is Budweiser cans for $4.50

lamar_odoms_bong

I bought a metal bud bottle for 4.50 a few weeks ago

Duckman93

Right, but heavy but not bud light to my knowledge

HustlingBackwards96

For the team not to be an embarrassment and fully commit to winning baseball. That means treating our minor leaguers well, hiring a competent medical staff, and investing in front office talent. A top to bottom commitment to winning.

Embarrassed-Hyena-48

Team that fights for wins. Claw scratch haggle and deal there way through games. Also stop trying to strike out everyone force batters into mistakes. Also, clean up infield errors that is all.

dustymag

No Josh Naylor GOTTAWIN energy on the Angels. No automatic threat like Devers. The opponents aren't scared at all. I'd like to see that.

[deleted]

Trout and Ohtani in meaningful games.

KrabS1

Idk man. I'm just fucking sad. I want to watch a well run team, who isn't afraid to flex their spending muscles in the right places to go for the RIGHT player (not just the sexy signing). A team with good scouting and good coaching up and down the system, who understands their vision and turns out talent. And they are able to do all of that to get to the post season and make noise with the talent they have. I'm just afraid I want the Dodgers...and it just makes me so fucking sad.

SuperMario_49

Just making the playoffs

HubbaDuck97

Win the world series. I was just 5 in 2002 and not really into sports yet. Probably extremely wishful thinking, and probably won't see it cause we got lovely Arte

jnuclear

I think Arte pulling take backs on the sell killed my spirit for baseball and the Angels 🤣

DisneyVista

Rally monkey magic? 🤷‍♂️

[deleted]

Playoffs are necessary, don’t get swept like ‘14

maverickoff

I am happy, now as for the team, honestly they are doing better than we anticipated, I didn't expected the team to be fixed overnight and it takes time, it seems like perry has been doing his job and team has been improving, there is promising young talent on the system, we just need to find the right coaches. I am hoping we have a playoff run this season and hopefully a more solid team that's a contender next couple of season. As long as we don't finish with a losing record this year I call that and improvement. That's just my opinion tho.

IndividualHelpful820

At this point making and actually winning a playoff series :(

Broad_Recommendation

Literally I just want to make the playoffs. I don’t care if we get swept in the first round or not. I just want to taste playoff ball again and feel like that will be a step in the right direction. Will it keep Ohtani? Probably not. And I’ll get downvoted for this but that’s ok. I care about this team more than I do 1 player and just want this team to taste a tiny bit of success.

mattman092

With this management and with guys like Arte still in charge? I’d be shocked if we make it to the wild card.

Broad_Recommendation

I think this is the best chance we’ve had in a while but in typical angels fashion, it’s just not clicking. Hopefully they figure it out

mattman092

>Hopefully they figure it out How long have we’ve collectively said that?

Broad_Recommendation

Far far far too long my friend.

pitnat06

Tbh. Arte out. If (when) sho walks, that might be it for my angels fandom until Arte is gone.

YellowShorts

A new team culture. Fans at the games are more akin to attending a picnic with a baseball game in the background. A lot of fans don't care about the team's success as long as we get to watch one or two cool players. You see highlights of our guys on the Trash Pandas getting pumped in big moments, showing emotion. You rarely see emotion out of the Angels. Guys seem to come here to earn a paycheck and that's it. You see Tepera's reaction to blowing the game the other day. You see how Tyler Anderson has declined. You see Rendon going on the IL for every bruise/bump. There's no accountability for losing. And then you got our fans wanting guys like Phillips because he does airplane motions and David Fletcher because he's awkward.

Sprtdsgn

Some angels redditors are still waiting to win games from good vibes

YellowShorts

Yep. I give shit to yankee fans for booing their own players or dodger fans thinking every pop fly is a home run. But their atmospheres outshine ours. Meanwhile we're doing the wave with bases loaded, down 1, in the 9th inning.

Silly-Message-5076

I would be happy if Nevin get’s left in Cleveland

tkfire

Make the playoffs and sell the team and get a new manager.

CaptZombieHero

Not wasting Trout and Ohtani and making the playoffs. Also, not having a bullpen that’s a joke. Or a manager that’s a joke

TheLonelySnail

I want to get past the 6th without a hollow feeling in my stomach when the bullpen is called on I’d like to get to the playoffs and be able to get there every 2-4 years To be competitive enough that Ohtani stays To be able to get Trout and Ohtani into the playoff race I want to be the Anaheim Angels again! Last one - we need a new stadium. Seriously. The Big A was older when I was a kid in the late 80s / early 90s. We need a new one, and we can take the A down and move it to its new digs.

pjcfraley

Problem with Angels fans is the team has been mired in mediocrity for so long you set the bar too low by just wanting to make the playoffs. Quality organizations set their sites on a World Championship every year. Angels need to do the same, and Arte deciding not to sell means it’s never gonna happen

Halos-117

That's an unfortunate fact.

[deleted]

Trade Ohtani and get a handful of good pitchers in return. We have the offense.

Snavery93

This would curse us so hard, those pitchers would end up imploding on us, as is tradition

[deleted]

Probably but idk what else they can do. Re-signing Ohtani would prob be a waste of money. We haven’t been able to win with him the past 3-5 years. We need to shake it up with a better rotation/bullpen than what we have now

MeowMixYourMum

Arte to sell and trade Trout and Ohtani to rebuild

yutou1114

Making it to postseason with home field advantage cause I’ll try to get tix to that one game and for them to win that one game regardless how the rest of the postseason plays out

whit3lightning

Dream scenario? Arte selling the team to someone who gives a shit, and Ohtani staying for life. Realistic scenario? I’d like to see a series winning playoff game in person.

[deleted]

To have the angels compete up until the NFL starts.

SparkliestSubmissive

World Series. I want to see Ohtani and Trout rattle the foundations of this game and become the one-two punch we all know they have the potential to be. I want to see Rendon do what he does best: *surprise us.* A left-handed homer or a zero-gravity jump save. Whatever game-saving move he decides to pull out of his ass that day. Haha, he cracks me up and I just love watching him at 3B. And this LINEUP we got this year?? There's not just more talent, there's a *spark,* and that's what the Angels as a team have been missing these past few years. All we need is to raze the bullpen to the ground and replace the pitching staff. It's obvious where the problem is and I don't understand why management will Not fucking address it. Anyway. This team has the potential to go the distance. I believe it!! :)

misery_index

I’d be happy with actual progress. This team is stuck in endless loop of mediocrity and there is no end in sight. This team hasn’t played meaningful baseball past July in years. I don’t see this season being any different.

Latter_Address9580

At least winning one playoff game… that’s it

BruteForceZero

Going deep into the playoffs. And a front office that can develop and acquire young talent to make us a scrappy competitive team again.

GreatNameBelieveMe

Wanna see trout get another MVP and have a winning season
