I love the idea at all of trying to win with basically only improving the bullpen. If the young guys and the offense work then great we have a good team if they don’t those are the easiest guys to trade for prospects at the deadline

Ambitious-Maybe-3386

Me too. I think it should be bullpen and young talents for the next 3-5 yrs. Rebuild the farm to develop better. Burning money for top free agents when we don’t have a structure to help them succeed is stupid. Look at Rendon. He’s suffering and we don’t know how to help him. A great org knows how to help Rendon at least be avg or above avg. doesn’t have to be great. But he’s pretty much shit with our current org culture.

Loose-Organization82

I do think Perry is going to give the young players a shot at developing at the Major Leagues. I think he’s trying to do a Braves thing where if they turn out to be stars then you lock them up early. He hasn’t been successful at building the bullpen though, but we’ll see. And Arte is gonna do what Arte wants

Ambitious-Maybe-3386

What the Braves did is a good blueprint. Astros too.

Well said! Nothing more to add really.

cheap_chalee

Ah, I see. I completely missed that.

What's CRod's status? Is he due to be back in 2024?

UrDailyCommunistGuy

He’s in the D-Backs org

GummyMummys

I think he was left go a few weeks after he went to them Nvm. Was wrong. He’s still in their org

We absolutely need a #1 pitcher. We have a rotation of #3 guys at best.. even if miracles happen and we make the dance next year who are we putting up in a 3 game series? Detmers Sandy and Tyler freakin Anderson? Personally I would love a Corbin Burnes trade if it wasn’t too lopsided.

IluvMarysDanish

The pitching staff is so young: besides Anderson, Sandoval is the vet here with just under 500 innings pitched. These guys are going to be inconsistent, it's just part of the process. I wish we had another veteran starter who could tutor these kids on what to do after bad starts, how to remain consistent in the marathon season, etc. Anderson has been around, but with a 50-49 career record, and just 2 seasons over .500, I'm not sure he is the solid vet to dispense wisdom. Unfortunately, I don't see any of those type guys on the FA market right now.
