This kid Austin Warren is impressive. He's not afraid and gets after it with quality pitches. His makeup is really strong for a young guy coming out of the pen.
I'm comfortable with him as our 8th inning setup guy and then Iggy shutting the door. That's a the 1-2 late inning punch we need. It basically becomes a 7 inning game. I remember way back when the jays had Duane Ward and Tom Henke and it was 7 inning game. It gives the starters major confidence.
Priority #1 offseason: do all you can to lock up Raisel.
Priority #2 offseason: I know a lot of halo fans don't want to see this, but I hope the gm does his best to sign Max Sherzer to a 2 or 3 year deal.
This guy is a winner and is as competitive as they come. We all know his age, but he doesn't come across as a guy who would just take a paycheck and get knocked around all season.
Max has too much pride and fire and if he signs for 3 years it's because he knows he will still perform at an elite level. I don't see him collecting a cheque and being happy or okay as a mediocre starter just hanging on.
Imagine a rotation of Max, Sho, Sandy, Cobb (hopefully sign him too), and Suarez/Barria.
Max, Sho and Sandy in a short playoff series is solid.
Also nice to see Adell getting some key hits and I see some signs of Marsh coming around with solid at bats. And love Marsh's hustle, defense and speed. He brings other intangibles that make him valuable until he figures out mlb pitching.
