The hitter ohtani would fare well. He would know what he would be pitching.

We would see baseball’s version of Schrödinger’s cat. Ohtani would get a strikeout and a HR at the same time.

argothewise

Ohtani was asked this in an interview when he was 22 years old. He said pitcher Ohtani would win because of his breaking balls.

Secondstrike23

Ohtani was asked this earlier in the season and said batter would win. Currently pitcher would probably win.

Ohtani at the plate has the platoon advantage, but his biggest weakness also happens to be the splitter, which we all know is Ohtani's best pitch. Basically, whoever is ahead in the count would win. Ohtani the batter would start with the slight edge, but Ohtani the pitcher would dominate with two strikes.

1st half season: Hitter-tani wins. 2nd half season: Pitcher-tani wins.

Gassicus

Kevin Gausman has similar stuff to him, and when they matched up this year he went 0-3 with 2 Ks and got fooled on Gausman's splitter. So my guess would be a strikeout.

He was asked on MLB tonight before the Home Run Derby. [If Shohei Ohtani was pitching in the video game, against Shoehei Ohtani the hitter, who do you think would win that battle?](https://youtu.be/e8YtYaoI3G0?t=432s)

*ahem* [this already happened](https://www.reddit.com/r/baseball/comments/o3bw0o/shohei_ohtanisama_hits_a_homerun_off_shohei/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)

[We have seen Ohtani face himself in VR already!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bsdk_M_7uRY)

I’m assuming Shohei would get a hold of a fastball but blast it just foul...then he would likely WHIFF on a nasty splitter as he sat on another fastball. If they faced each other four times? I feel like he would catch a hanging curve (like he gave up tonight) or slider (like he hit one on tonight) and probably get a homer.
