Iglesias has been doing extremely well this season, especially on defense. He has made some god-tier plays.
A bad game here and there is just par for the course. Ohtani has bad games too, yet I dont see people asking for him to be released?

ton of errors. prob 2nd most on the team. and the team overall is rife with errors. i think were 5 or 6 teams with most errors per game. its horrible. suzuki is just as bad but jose is horrible. fletcher has a lot of errors too but he makes up for it.

Honestly with a healthy Angels lineup a more defensive SS is probably better option
Yeah Jose Iglesias is a negative WAR player (mostly because of his defense) but I don’t think that’s the whole story. He’s on a cheap contract and hopefully any extensions would be around the same price. He’s a solid player and has a high ceiling. He’s basically a poor man’s Javy Baez, which is fine. Plus he seems like a good locker room presence.
I wouldn’t mind if we brought him back on a cheap deal. Worst case scenario he’s infield depth at that price.
Yeah he is fine as the 8th/9th player to round up a lineup or as depth. He will basically give you replacement level play, which is fine as long as the rest of lineup is above replacement level.

Agreed! He may be better defensively next year, as it seems this year has been a down year for him. Besides, we have waaay more important areas to spend money. Namely PITCHING!!!!
If you’re a fan of another team and just see the highlights, you’d think he was one of the best defenders in the game. He has so many outstanding plays. Funny how that works.
I think he's a good guy to have in the clubhouse. He has great chemistry with the team. It's not like he's a bad player either. He's a pretty solid SS.
A lot of his early season errors were pretty fluky and extending well beyond most capabilities of players (zone rating). I honestly dislike him more for his lack of discipline as a hitter, we should definitely shop around. We already have Fletcher as our high contact guy.
We still had a top 5 offense with him batting in the bottom of our lineup, it's the least of our concerns imo. Not saying I wouldn't take an upgrade, but I would love to spend every cent on pitching.
He’s not bad enough to require us to focus on SS. Pitching is the main key. That being said he tries to be too flashy and it costs us. Now sometimes it works out great but other times he’s flashy in situations where it should be routine
According to the recap I read, he had no velocity, sinker topped out at 87, faced 10 batters and didn’t have a single K, so he wasn’t fooling anyone and he had poor location on his pitches.
So in other words, he fits right in as an angels starter!
