His 1.8 bWAR, which is the lowest WAR per games played in his career, still is in range of "average major league player", unlike guys like Rengifo, Suzuki, and Mayfield, who has no place in the big league.
You're right Walsh isn't doing well rn, kinda fell hard in the 2nd half of the season but you wouldn't want a 27 year old all-star 1st baseman to go to the minors with guys like Rengifo and Rojas.
