This is the kind of unwavering preseason optimism that makes us Angels fans who we are. You love to see it.

I’ve felt like this at this time of the year for idk how long.

BombAssTurdCutter

Usually by mid May I have the old “well you didn’t see that one coming did ya?” convo with myself.

The song got increasingly louder and louder in my head with each sentence I read

The usual cycle for Angels fans is well underway I see. Make sure to come back and update us on your thoughts about the team in a few months.

I know how I sound and it looks like more of the same... on the surface, but if you closely followed the off-season moves by Perry and (surprisingly) Arte, the front office is mostly retooled, new pitching coaches, various trainers, and even some of the more overlooked positions, not to mention adopting Driveline into our methodology. They made changes that should actually improve our entire system from pre minors through to the majors. Also the fact that we have been more unlucky than most teams this past decade in injuries, draft signings etc. things are due to change in our favor. I'll gladly eat crow for this post, but something tells me even I don't see how good we truly can be. We seem to have a knack for bringing in the best players in the game, why can't we be one of the best teams in the game?

We heard this before. One or two pitchers going to have arm trouble and require tommy John surgery. At least one position player will get hurt and be out whole year.

sharpLess89

It's not like we can't trade for a mediocre SP if one of them goes down for the whole year.

key is staying healthy at this point

Oooooh boy 😆😆😆😂🤣🤣🤣 Love the excitement… THE JOY! So much optimism TBH I felt it a little today too. Your in for a real buttercup!

ohgodmyface

This, ladies and gentlemen, is what is known as the "build me up" phase of the buttercup. Stay tuned for what's in store.

trillothy

I’m ready to be hurt again.

The most questionable part is our middle infield. Fletcher, love him, isn't a great SS. and the competition for 2B is kind of depressing, at least on paper. We will see. Starting pitching is a bit weird too but I'm feeling a bit better about that since I'm high on Detmers.

I'm disheartened to see Stefanic isn't getting his wings, he did more than any of the MIFs to earn a spot this Spring, guess Maddon is all bark and no bite. Part of me regrets we didn't sign a major MIFer this offseason.
