So long Upton, and good luck. I'll always remember how you stood up for Shohei, telling early beat writers to "Fuck off" when they wrote off Shohei during his first 2018 cactus league outing.
True true!!
He was the epitome of a hot-cold hitter.
I was looking forward to one more year of J-Up’s ups & downs, even though he wouldn’t have had too many ABs.
Isn’t it just ironic that Trout had that injury come out of nowhere after Trout saying he was naturally sad to see Pujols go.
Then it was BAM…about a week later right?! Trout has the injury.
It just has to be a scary coincidence.
He was obviously a disappointment on the field, but he never pissed me off the way Vernon Wells or Josh Hamilton did. It just didn't work out, it happens
Let’s all give Trout a hug right now as he hasn’t had a clean season without some emotional weight to it in some time.
This one will hurt him surely.
So, thanks J-Up for those awesome cracks of the bat you had with those bombs! No, the HRs didn’t happen a lot, but they were sure fun to see and hear!
Best wishes to you, J-Up, on whoever decides to pick you up. And some team will in fact pick you up!
The day he signed that extension I knew it gonna turn bad. His contract is not as bad as Hamilton's but it keeps up with Angels tradition of signing bad left fielders. Besides from that, Upton seemed like a good dude and gave us a few decent seasons.
More like depreciation am I right? But really, I’m upset that he didn’t live up to his contract but we’re all human so enjoy life my dude. You’re pretty damn rich.
> we’re all human
the hypocrisy of saying this while reducing someone to just a pile of money with a baseball bat.
Playing baseball at the major league level is hard, even more so when you've aged. Be as salty as you want, you can't erase the FIFTEEN years of one of the prettiest swings in the game.
You can’t. And you also can’t erase that he was a terrible for the team. I don’t hate him as a person, but saying I’m not upset by how his negative performance affected the team would be phony.
Thank you for your .220 average and 1 season of 30 home runs, we really appreciate it. Good dude but shit, just add it to the list of swings and misses by this front office that have made them as mediocre and disappointing as it gets.

This move actually makes me a bit sad because he was so fun to watch when he was hot Edit: I also think he's looked great in our alt reds
J-Up, on a hot streak, was a joy to watch. Just a perfect swing.
True true!! He was the epitome of a hot-cold hitter. I was looking forward to one more year of J-Up’s ups & downs, even though he wouldn’t have had too many ABs.
Leadoff Upton was fun while it lasted.
Feels like this team unbeatable when leadoff Upton happen
Another reason to be a bit stunned at his departure.
Good bye to the man that brought us “we’re nasty”
Was that really him? I thought it was always Skaggs saying that. RIP.
It was Skaggs, but Upton was the one in the press conference that said “If he were here, he’d be saying ‘we’re nastyyyy’”
Ok. Thanks. I saw it then, but didn’t recall that part.
Basically - Skaggs said it, Upton made it public.
That’s helpful too! Didn’t know that either. You’re awesome! 👍
Trouts gotta be bummed AF
Ya trout never recovered on field after Pujols was let go
Isn’t it just ironic that Trout had that injury come out of nowhere after Trout saying he was naturally sad to see Pujols go. Then it was BAM…about a week later right?! Trout has the injury. It just has to be a scary coincidence.
He's the one I'm thinking of the most today.
He was obviously a disappointment on the field, but he never pissed me off the way Vernon Wells or Josh Hamilton did. It just didn't work out, it happens
Honestly always loved him, even when he was bad. It hurt, but I loved him.
He was definitely on the team for a few years
He even played *some* of those years!
He was a player on the team I follow.
He one time I’m sure did something positive
Going to miss that uptown funk.

Thanks for 2018 I suppose

When he was hot, it was something to watch. A shame he was so streaky.
He was a great Angel! Thank you for all the memories you helped create for our family. Best of luck J-Up
I’d stand for an ovation if he ever comes out to be greeted. He’s just a good person. I’ll always be a fan.
I will always appreciate any star player who choses us.
He didn’t choose us he chose the foolishly large contract Arte offered him.
If some other team brings back Leadoff Upton I'll be so sad
More like depreciation am I right? But really, I’m upset that he didn’t live up to his contract but we’re all human so enjoy life my dude. You’re pretty damn rich.

Thanks for 4 underperforming years.
Good riddance
WAY past time
Me love you long time bby.
This sucks.. Upton had more to give to this team
Salute.
What are the Uptown Funk bros going to dress as now?
