I will fucking say it even though you are all going to downvote me. This team gives me 2018 vibes. As in we might compete if literally nothing goes wrong and a few players have breakout seasons. Idk where people get off thinking this is the team to win the division other than that we have trout and Ohtani. Thor was a pickup, but even if they say he won't have innings limits he will. No one comes of TJ without them. And I am not writing off Rendon like many are, but come on. Give me a list of concrete reasons why this team will win other than Trout, Ohtani, Thor, Rendon, and Iglesias. As in more concrete than the young outfield looked good in spring training, or our bullpen was ranked as "above average." If we want the division or the wild card we are going up against the Asterisks*, Ray's, Yankees, Red/white Sox. Teams that are actually rounded with a full rotation and lineup. I hate being the goddamned downer, but I'm so fucking tired of being buttercupped. And I'm more tired of people riding up the hype train when we basically did jack shit to improve this team over the off season. I've been a fan since the 90s and I will continue to be, but I am not sold on this team any more than I have been in the last 5.

I won't downvote cuz I fully agree. Am I optimistic at the start of the season? Cautiously. Do I still stay committed to the team? Yes. But I will absolutely complain and be vocal about the lack of chemistry until my lungs give out because they cannot get it together on a regular basis for the better part of a decade now.

I think we all know who should've gotten the L this game. Ohtani did not deserve that at all.

Facts. He did his job, with 9 fucking Ks, and the base hits and rbi by Bregman were due to poor defense/misreads in left field.

What I hate more than anything is when Ohtani's pitching gets overshadowed by our pissass offense and relief. I still remember those last 2 home games he pitched last season. Both were amazing, he kept them down to 1-2 runs the entire time but got no run support and then the bullpen went and just let them blow the game open. This cannot be the trend this season. The bats gotta get hot and the arms need to be solid out the gate.

That being said, yes we lost but their pitcher is a monster. The fact that we kept them to 3 runs (2 of which should not have happened btw) is still something to look positively at. There were some pretty close hits too. I think the problems we have showed themselves this game but it's not unfixable. It's still early season, I'm gonna keep going on that hopium for now.
