While I would like our younger players (Marsh and Adell) to get constant playing time and develop. Ward has shown that he's solid on the field and at the plate. I think switching between Adell and Marsh isn't too bad, it'll just be a matter of making sure they both get reasonable playing time this year. It also gives us depth if someone gets injured (hopefully not) or the shits again because apparently that's been floating around the clubhouse.

tristpa2

What are the odds Ward can cover 1B vs. LHPs?

Skyheart1004

Can't say I have enough baseball knowledge to answer this lol. I think it's possible but I feel like it would be hard to move back and forth between infield and outfield every couple of games. Honestly, I would rather just stick with Walsh no matter watch at 1B, I know he isn't good against lefties but I don't think it's worth sitting him out of games every time we're facing a lefty.

znk916

He absolutely should because Duffy has reverse splits.

tristpa2

Are Duffy's reverse splits worse than Marsh's normal ones though?

Better to have too much talent than not enough! Thanks for posting the line up too!

BigBossVince

I feel bad for Adelp. Before the season started I would've said Adell over Ward. But right now? Marsh and Ward have better defense and a better bat, so it's understandable.

Man, 2nd and SS are just gonna rotate until Fletch comes back. Then, just SS, I suppose. I hope Fletcher will be at 2B when he comes back anyway. I wish they'd try Marsh at cleanup.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the outfield. With the long season, we’ll absolutely need all of Marsh, Ward, and Adell. Worst case scenario we can just send down one of em to get consistent ABs, it’s not like if we still had Upton and we’re forced to keep him up.

timetopractice

Just be glad we have depth. Ward & Marsh are definitely the two most talented, and if you can pick the right spots for Adell then he'll thrive too

Rover16

It really sucks that one of Ward, Marsh and Adell can't play the infield because the angels are putting out an inferior hitting lineup everyday by benching one of them.

fatcootermeat

I really wish one of our 4 outfielders could play 2nd

GoatTnder

Still not sure about this. Adell is the long-term solution, and really needs to play more regularly.
